ORIGINAL: • Van Halen - Jump (Offi...
Jump was an 80s hit. Eddie and Alex Van Halen (drummer) were brothers born in the Netherlands moving to California when they were children. Eddie is definitely one of the greats on guitar. Prince is another legend from the 80s who was amazing at playing guitar although his style differed from Eddie's. His music was probably not featured on Guitar Hero and those types of games. I think Bon Jovi (Richie Sambora playing guitar) was though. You are the same age as my son, and he used to play those games on whatever consoles (Play Station maybe?). He already knew quite a few of the bands/songs because I listened to them when transporting him around in the car before he got his driver's license...lol.
Panama, and Hot For Teacher are the other songs from this album that you need to check out. The videos are fun as well
Wolfgang Van Halen is Eddie’s and Valerie Bertinelli’s son
It’s an 80’s banger (1984). Edit the guitar player is the younger brother to Alex (the drummer). Wolfgang is Eddie’s son and has his own band Mammoth. If you really want a great guitar solo than check out Eddie’s solo called Eruption.
'King' Edward Van Halen. There's the original "Eruption" guitar solo from their first album 'Van Halen' (1978). th-cam.com/video/M4Czx8EWXb0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ClHBRw2KESuUwfIq - Then there's the Live video Eddie guitar solo from 1986. Here's the 14minute solo - th-cam.com/video/QQlh69IXLM0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HHYRKEv4YbqXR3i_
Original band Ed Van Halen (guitar, keyboards), David Lee Roth (vocals), Eddie's brother Alex Van Halen (drums), Michael Anthony (bass).
Later, singer David Lee Roth would be replaced by Sammy Hagar and years later, bass player Anthony would be replaced by Eddie's son Wolfgang Van Halen.
'80s music was fun!
Yes, this is definitely a classic, heard this many times. Love this song from Van Halen, this is from 1984, known as glam rock, hard rock etc. To me, this is typical 1980s rock music! It was Van Halen's lead single from their sixth studio album entitled 1984. Yes, Eddie Van Halen was a fantastic guitarist, his Eruption guitar solo (Live in New Haven 1986) is absolutely incredible, mind blowing, definitely!
You really need to listen to the Eruption guitar solo as recommended below. This is an amazing solo that lasts about 10 minutes.
New sub here! I was a teen in the 70's so obviously know many of the classics and saw many of the bands.
Totally Eruption! No question.
As was mentioned below Wolfgang is Eddie's son. He has a band called Mammoth WVH (Mammoth was the name of Eddie's first band before Van Halen)
He has 2 albums out (so far) and on all he wrote, sings and plays every instrument on the officials. He does have a touring band that is introduced in one of his videos (but it's still him doing all the playing) He gives me hope of the future of the rock world. He doesn't play "Van Halen" he is much heavier rock.
For the first 4 it would have to be officials as 3 of them blend into a story line. He has a wicked sense of humor that shows in his videos.
1) Don't back down (introduces you to him and his amazing talent)
2) Another Celebration at the End of the World
3) I'm Alright
4) Distance - This is the first song he put out. It's a tribute to his dad and he was nominated for a Grammy (lost to Foo Fighters) Bring a tissue.....
Van Halen is indeed a 'classic' band, lots of hits. Perhaps check out the hard core "Ain't Talking About Love" or the funky "Beautiful Girls" Their live shows will blow your ears right off, no joke.
HUGE hit in the 80’s! 🥰🎶
Yep, there's no accounting for taste..
Eddie played piano/keyboard and guitar if you wanna hear what eddie can do watch eruption. Alex the drummer and eddie are brothers
There’s a video with Eddie playing a MEAN guitar solo while the band takes a break! Super cool
yes Eddie and Alex are brothers, Wolfgang is Eddie's son... and Eddie plays guitar (obviously) and the synthesize, Alex is the drummer...
I highly suggest Runnin' With The Devil by Van Halen.
Wolfgang is Eddie's son he replaced Michael Anthony on bass. Sammy hagar replaced David Lee Roth on vocals. Check out mammoth vh it's Wolfgang's band he plays all the instruments.

"I'm the One" and "Mean Street" are two Van Halen songs I recommend to everyone. They're guitar-heavy without synths.
Check out Eruption Solo. It's amazing to watch. I saw him perform live and it was magic. The Eruption Solo is parts of different songs and techniques.
from this album (1984) are two more freeking great videos with more guitar... "Panama" and "Hot For Teacher"... PEEP them for great solos and catchy tunes
80s Hit.❤❤
Mean Street, Sinner's Swing, Little Guitars. Anything from their 70's releases. 1984 was the last album with Diamond Dave as vocalist.
And their worst from the era.. In part because the keyboards killed their hard rock sound,.
what? incorrect. "A Diffent Kind of Truth" was the last Album with DLR as vocalist.
@@TANTRUMGASM a different kind of truth, okay. Did it chart as well as 1984? Was it as significant as anything Van Halen released in the 1970s? Did it match EVH'S groundbreaking culture changing guitar innovations? Do you really think Tattoo stands up to Mean Street or Running with the Devil? Be heartily honest now. Maybe you're just trolling for a keyboard battle...hmmm? Don't have a tantrum.
@@Canucklehead557 be quiet boy, lame attempt at a strawman stay on topic
.,lol what are you having a tantrum about kid?? be an adult kiddo, deal with facts..man you are dim, anyway here we go... YOU stated QUOTE " 1984 was the last album with Diamond Dave as vocalist." which is obviously 100% incorrect.obviuosly you were wrong, and I corrected/educated you...
I corrected your false statement. nothing else for you to say, there is no defense nor discussion
you were wrong and I am right! with out debate! you were wrong, I was right, there is no more to say,
you are dismissed
@@Canucklehead557 ?? What are you rambling about ? You were incorrect and dude corrected you,
god , get over it
You may recognise the song from the movie "READY PLAYER ONE" it's the opening song to the movie.!
IAM listen this song thousands time perhaps 10000😅😅
80's think male version of Madonna. LOL This song is 40 years old this year. Love seeing David Lee Roth be his crazy, jumping self & Eddie is stellar on guitar & keyboard as usual. Thanks for the memories.
Stellar on guitar, the keyboards sucked, the Synth/ keyboards did not fit..
You have to watch Eddie Van Halen, Eruption guitar solo.
They did start in the 70's but this was 1983.
Best Guitar solo of all time. Eddie Van Halen at the New Haven Colliseum in 1986. TH-cam video Called Eruption a must see.
Recommend any of the live VH shows from Oakland, California; “unchained”, “so this is love”, “hear about it later”. These are songs at their peak.
Not sure if it is still; there, but use to be a guitar in small airport in small town Mississippi which belong to EV donated to Hartley Peavy ... "Peavey's Electronics. Seen it once and thought it was cool that he donated it to Hartley.
Eddie, Prince, and SRV were all amazing. So was Nancy Wilson of Heart. For something not rock but jaw-dropping good, listen to Tommy Emmanuel playing Mason William's "Classical Gas". That man will wring sounds out of his acoustic guitar that you didn't even think were possible!
It doesn't have a "retro vibe", this is was "the present" was at the moment. "Retro" is a contemporary concept.
Ice Cream Man
This was a nightmare for a lot of the early Van Halen fans. 🤣 Welcome to the genesis of "hair band" and "posers".
5 albums before this by one of the great rock bands. My personal faves are Somebody Get Me A Doctor and Outta Love.
This was the first album where Edward plays the keyboard. He was a classical trained pianist in his childhood. After hearing the Beatles and Dave Clark 5 he and his brother Alex would turn their sites on rock n roll. Their father Jan was a jazz musician which is where they got their influence. If you want to hear Edward in his greatness check out “Eddie Van Halen Live eruption guitar solo. And then go from there. Great reaction and I think you’re about to go down the rabbit hole!
And couldn't read music yet won piano competitions
Nah Sunday afternoon walk in the park/ one foot out door is synthsizer from fair warning
Spring 1984
My favorite off this album was Top Jimmy.
search "eruption from 'live without a net'. nice reaction... enjoy!
You absolutely have react to, Hot for the teacher, he has What you’re looking for in a guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen. Don’t miss out on it
No bro, this was in the 80’s, in fact, ‘84’
Check out Ain't Talkin bout Love
Hot for Teacher & Panama videos from same album as Jump "1984". check out "Unchained" from Oakland Coliseum 👍
You should react to Eddie's Eruption to see how he was playing
They use AC⚡DC in many many movies❤❤ Angus Young is the famous guitarist❤🎸🎶🔥🔥
Angus was awesome, but, putting that aside, it was Malcolm who was supplying the steady hard rock riffs, then Angus would start with his fingers blazing and cray antics (Live). Kudos also to Mark Evans/Cliff Williams, Phil Rudd & Bon Scott..
Eddie Van Halen, for me, it´s the best guitarist ever. If you haven´t heard yet, take a look on his "Eruption" solo. The best guitar solo ever.
1984
Check out mean streets and unchained by Van Halen
Watch the New Haven concert they have out if you want to see Eddie rip
Please react to Eruption ❤❤❤
Best Guitarist? Roy Clark
Eruption solo…just do it. 😉
David Lee was so hot ❤
Dude, checkout.....it's with Sammy Hagar instead of DLR
Best of Both Worlds
Finish What Ya Started
Black n Blue
Eruption...guitar solo
Jump is not really the song to judge/admire Eddie for his guitar prowess. Maybe check out the guitar solo “Eruption” from “Live Without a Net” video performance from New Haven Connecticut 1986.
Sammy Hagar replaced David Lee Roth. I’m a huge VH fan and personal opinion here but I think Sammy shot them thru them stratosphere and were sooooo much better. Love David Lee Roth years too tho! U can’t imagine how it was back then and I’m so glad younger generations r diving into all this great music. Btw this was in the 80’s. Big hair. Cried all the way from Amarillo to Tulsa the day Eddie died.🥺🥺😎✌🏻
Hot for Teacher has a better guitar solo & a funny video. It wouldn't pass todays censors, I don't think. LOL
Not the best song to check out Eddie's guitar skills.
A hit or not, the song is a joke, hype with nonsensical lyrics, sort of like a Kiss song, only worse. Van Halen at its lowest point..
It not rock but Roy Clark may be the best guitarist ever.
