    Agree with Roy. Ronaldo needs to start the big games, you rest him against lesser teams if you must. Man Utd SHOULD have enough against the bottom half teams to rest Ronaldo if needed but he COULD and likely WOULD be the difference maker against the other big teams. He can't do that if he's on the bench for 70 mins, game is about winning and scoring goals and he does that.
    He's not going to press and as Roy says you must take that into account if you play him, when Ole said Rashford must concentrate on football rather than politics perhaps he felt he wasn't doing the leg work required for the guy who partners Ronaldo?.
    That's the key element here - Ronaldo is the star player at Utd so others (his strike partner especially) must fit around his game to a certain degree.

    • @IamArno
      @IamArno 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Ronaldo needs to play the lesser teams to train the muscles the mind and have games. Bringing him in only to fight the tough games is simply abuse. Imagine only fighting Mike Tyson only and never sparing lesser boxers. When do you test your craft and try things out for the big games. You ask ronAldo do you want to start today. ronAldo in in a different league to others. That's fact. ronAldo wants to do well and doing well does the team well. It goes hand in hand. You don't use Ronaldo for your method, you can't use LIONS. LIONS TELL YOU. ❤️

    • @albertbrammer9263
      @albertbrammer9263 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It is the weaker teams that Man Utd struggled against. They are the games Ronaldo could turn from draws to wins. Against Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool you need everyone pressing all the time. He alters the tactics you can use.

    • @Chris-i0i0i0
      @Chris-i0i0i0 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You play Ronaldo against "big teams" in the Prem, and you are effectively playing with 10 men. He can grab a goal from nothing, no doubt, but that is rarely going to win you a game against City, Liverpool or Chelsea because they will blow you away, and right now probably wouldn't even consistently get you the win at West Ham or one or two others. United are playing for Europa League places at best if they can't work out how to get the best from Ronaldo.

    • @shamimmiah700
      @shamimmiah700 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

However, if you take the risk of re-signing a 36 year old world class player, you've got to have a clear plan on how he'll immediately win you as many trophies as possible. Unfortunately, United's coaching staff don't have the slightest clue on how to integrate him properly on what they had already built, hence Ole got the sack!

A lot of life is just luck, Carragher had a top mentality and was a top defender who was very close to Terry in terms of solidity and did for Liverpool what Keane did for Utd. Your kind of thinking is why some people think Scholes is equal to or better than Gerrard. You probably never watched the lad play, he could pass the ball well but couldn't run, couldn't tackle, was regularly substitued because he had asthyma etc. It's like comparing Henderson to Declan Rice, or Kane to Lewandowski. Keane is definitely right that Ronaldo should be starting against teams like Chelsea, you don’t bench someone like that in such an important game. At the same time though Jamie definitely has some good points too that Ronaldo’s been brought back so Man United can win the league, they came second last year and want first and you’re not gonna bring in players like Ronaldo, Varane and Sancho unless you want to win anything and everything that pops up with the league being the primary goal. I am rather glad the suffering ended. Chelsea really are something. But we are improving defensively. our attack should be the next place of concentration. We will triumph, just not against these top teams at the moment😅. They are on a different level for now. My butt is still sweating from all the tension I was under. We barely left our half. Trust me, we shouldn't have even scored in this game, that ball from jorginho was a "giveaway", everything else in terms of goals for us was a disaster. Even Ronaldo only touched the ball 6 times in his entire 36 minutes play. 4 of the touches were passes in our half, 2 of which failed. and the other 2 touches were failed dribbles, you can understand his frustration. My soul left me for the entire 96 minutes. When the referee blew, he put an end to my mystery. Man u. We are the best please, or at least we are among the best. We can do better. Please

    Never thought I'd hear Keane use the stock market in an argument to justify a player not being benched

      It is the only point really worth making and could be used to explain everything Man Utd for the last decade. They are now a corporation, not a football club, owned by people who are not interested in or capable of creating a football club in the traditional sense. They are capable of managing a corporation and maximising profit. That's it, that explains basically everything, from throwing money at ineffective signings for years, to vanity signings to stop Man City buying the player they end up ruining.

      Many are happy with how they set up yesterday and the point they got by the grace of God
      They're finally accepting that against the big boys the need to become Burnley and hold on for dear life

    Jamie’s definitely got a point after United finished 2nd most United fans expected them to challenge if not win the league after signing the players they have, they’ve been a joke since the start of the season and I feel sorry for Ronaldo, being made to look like it’s his fault that the team are performing poorly when he’s arguably their best player, yeah he wanted to win a trophy at United but they’re miles away from achieving that and he’ll probably be gone in the summer.
