Eve (the deer in the viral video) is very wild, but also just very very curious. After the first time she walked in, she has stopped by to visit and get pets from me. Eve lives on my animal refuge where she is safe and can continue to be a sweet curious little deer.

There are plenty of humans who have "loved" their animals/pets to death for lack of knowledge and/or over-emotionality. When you are all wrapped up in your own emotions it's difficult to see animals as they really are. But as long as each of us is kind, that's a plus. Unfortunately, there are a whole lot of us who aren't.

To form that kind of bond with a wild deer is truly a gift and a privilege. She totally loves you it's such a beautiful thing to see. I had a boy I named Bucky that would run to me when I called and wait for me in my yard each day. He let me feel his antlers as they grew all way in. When they trust you it can be an amazing thing. Just have to be careful as you said they are in a refuge so they won't get hurt being too trusting.
Watching this made me realize something very important: Humans giving out love like this to animals, in awe and enraptured by their beauty, is the purest love that can be rendered to them. Their acceptance is the purest feeling we will receive from them in turn.

Yes, they act like happy puppies even when they have only been 50 feet away from each other! He had the same approach I've seen people use with shy horses - turn your back on them and let them come up to you on their own accord, never look straight at them for more than a second (because that's predator behavior), nice and easy moves. Well done!

Whitetails don't groom/solicit grooming like that unless they feel really close to the other individual. She was looking for chillax&scratch😁
