  • This family had a pet coyote that they had trained and tamed. They also rescued a cat and were happy to find that these two got along very well. They played around and wrestled around the room despite their difference in size.

Rowan Brult correction, dogs ARE wolves. Same species, Canis Lupus, subspecies familiaris. The difference is that dogs have the activated "domestication gene", which only some animals have (for example, zebras do not have the equine domestication gene found in horses and donkeys, which explains why centuries upon centuries of zebra domestication failed).
This coyote *is* still a wild animal, genetically, but that's ok. A tame animal is still perfectly fine with humans as long as its happy and its needs are being properly met. Our birds and reptiles are all tame, we love them, and as far as we know none of them carry any domestication gene at all. We haven't technically domesticated coyotes specifically, but as they are also a subspecies of Canis Lupus I'm sure they carry the gene. I don't think anyone would want to domesticate coyotes though, due to the issues we have with their populations.

It's interesting how in sync they are with each other. The cat lays down and the coyote lays in the same position as the cat. Almost like they're mimicking each other. Also the coyote lets the cat attack him and then when he attacks in a playful way he stops and gives the cat a chance. This is not all that common even when cats are playing together much less when it's a domesticated dog and cat. It's rare when you see such a pair have that kind of bond.

Animals are running out of their natural habitats because people won’t stop tearing down the trees for more housing developments and strip malls. And you wonder how they end up in your backyard. What we need is human population control. Let’s start with YOU!

    • @whitefalcon630

      Dear, Animal lover.
      Thank you for your reply.
I hope we can talk about this topic in a civilised way.
      A bloody wild dog-like doesn't worth as much as a hunter's life.
Try to understand it as a harvest.
Those dogs aren't our enemies are useful pests. And we harvest them.
The coyote population is huge are they live in a large USA sized area.
Most of them are healthy and it gives a good harvest.
Coyote products have a good price and they aren't in danger.
More puppy born in a breeding season than adult got put down.
Until it stays that way harvesting and predator control is helpful to the wildlife.
      It's not about exterminating.
And what I said is just a little hunter romantic these bloody rugs deserve respect but it's better seeing them dead.
And you better not put the coyotes on human levels. You aren't going to end well.
It shows a very distorted personality if you want to kill me instead of coyotes.
"So who is the real killer?"
      Sincerely, -Falcon.

    • @whitefalcon630
      @whitefalcon630 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

well and that's why their pelt is valuable.
And I also heard that some trappers and hunters in America even eat coyote flesh. Well, I would never try to eat canine flesh. It has a pretty big risk factor. Diseases and viruses even tapeworms.
It's not very safe to eat it.
But maybe there are recepies out that that helps the dog to be safe to eat.

But these 2 display the "rough play" very well: the coyote lays with her throat exposed in a submissive position to make the cat comfortable attacking, but that's because the coyote craves the roughness the cat displays and can reciprocate without being too rough back. ❤️😻😸
