Trying to save you guys from the debate...
Thank you!
Bro I was just watching the roll back
Videos
Much appreciated!
Thank goodness
I’m so glad I watched that exhaust whistle video on that leased RAM 1500 all those years ago. Seeing how far you and everyone around you has come has been incredible and genuine. No one else deserves it as much as y’all! Congratulations!
Don’t let George change the rods 😂
Dude, right on. About the same time i caught on. Leased Ram with immediate warranty delete, Ed givin his 2¢.
My biggest thing is I’m glad to see Sam was able to make the trip with them. He is so quiet and reserved because this stuff is well beyond the imagination he had at the same age as the rest of them.
Agreed
...he's old af
@@jwarfield1985 age is just a number, similar to horse power.
@@mpiresteve Yup, the more you got, the better you go! [age 70]
That man has seen more GOOD THINGS in his life than all the BAD SHIT we are all witnessing now. We'll never have a life like Sam experienced in many ways.
24:01
Cleet- You know what they say with engine building 10% of it is the prep...
George- keep your nuts greased?
George's narration is one of the best parts of every video. The man is one of a kind!
100%!!!!
That's right yeah that's true
George is femonimal. Zeek and Jankstand too. Well done fellas!
The SMX was a water jacketed engine hence the drag and drives. Steve offers the SMX in a dry deck setup as well as a wet deck. It also was capable of removing the head with the intake still intact.
All SMXs are dry decked, that water jackets do not use the deck to move fluid from the block to the head. They are all plumber externally with AN line, making them a bit of a plumbing nightmare
Proline hemi can remove the heads while nit removing the intake as well. Biggest difference between proline hemi and the smx is pretty major...biggest benefit is the support behind it for parts and one of the baddest tuners on the drag racing scene.
Just watching Mr. Sam sitting back and watching this engine build brings warmth to my heart for many reasons
As a CNC machinist and CNC programmer I can appreciate the work that goes into designing and manufacturing the whole billet engine. Awesome engineering
The fact the engine was DESIGNED to be serviced is so awesome!! Knowing you have to fix or tear things down relatively constantly... and being able to get to things that easy is INCREDIBLE
When someone sitting behind CAD one day said "I got you".... he meant it in this case. haha
So was the smx
I love watching the technology of racing change over the years and seeing people put their heart and soul into new ideas and designs just to make the whole sport better. Hats off to everyone of you!
Designed to be serviced, but won't be
Im so happy us supporters and video watchers were able to get you to this point in life to be building this car and this engine! You put your team first and you deserve every bit of that engine! Im so ready for the insane footage we are about to get from Eagle! Thank you guys for being the best TH-cam channel ever
Thinking you were serious, and before any questions asked, he was ready to give you a discount for it being scratched. Really shows the attitude to customer satisfaction. I'm excited to see this bad boy!
I came to comment the same. He was willing to make it right immediately. Top notch 👌🏻
Just want to say, The Proline Hemi doesn't exist without AJPE. I just want to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to Alan Johnson, and his late brother Blaine, ( RIP ) who has pioneered TFX for the past few decades! They are located out in central California out in the farm fields of Santa Maria. Most Top Fuel teams use AJPE products because of the reliability and performance. As long as Cleetus follows a strict maintenance program, this engine will never fail and win several events. McFarland Racing for the WIN!
100% correct its Proline assembled with their accessories. We ran AJPE in Top Fuel winning 4 Championships.
Touching everything like a bunch of kids! I love it.
put a run counter on the dash, reset the count when you do the rods, after the count hits 20, turn the number yellow, the closer you get to the target number the closer the color should get to red, at the target number, make it blink
this right here is a great idea can more people like so cleet will see it
Sounds like it's designed to have Rod Stretch rather then Rod Failure.
Tandem rowing the cylinder heads to spec was gold. HEMI Brothers torque together
16:46 "Down and row...and row" had me rollin face 😂😂🪦🥀
Cleetus is literally a living and breathing american dream. This man done it ALL correctly, he got the face of the business started along with the business the viewers interested along with the support of his fans across the world and a beautiful family. May yahweh Jehovah safeguard this wonderful man ❤
Thank you cleetus for all the laughs and smiles 😊
Fast forward 10 years, and the Cleetus is racing the fastest cars in the NHRA. And it all started right here. Well it started a while back, but you know what I'm talking about. This is American racing history right here. And we're witnessing it firsthand.
Coach Clay ?
Kenoath.
I doubt it lol I love cleetus but those top fuel guys are on another level. One pass tear down rebuild.
TH-cam is great for things like this, it's just such compelling viewing, even from The UK we support Cleeter and Crew.
@Ayedidyae 😂
Thanks for taking us on that awesome experience 🤘
Aw HELL NAW!!! Cleetus said “Hawk Tuah”!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What I love is seeing James just ecstatic about it. The man loves his job and the channel that's for sure. Learned so much from James over the years. We
I agree. This channel wouldn’t be the same without Jimmy Jackstand
@@jimmymcjimjim5610facts. And anyone who has been here from the beginning knows how much jackstand has been apart of the success. Maybe not very beginning. But year 2 yes
Every guy in the pits of a major radial race dreams of the day they have access to the parts the proline camp has and thanks to cleetus james reached that goal
Can I get a hell yeah 💯 👍

we can agree on that, bud
George don't drop.....ping!! I saw that coming..lol
so did everyone! 😆
😂😂 thought exactly the same thing!! Piston flopping around on the conrod 😂😂
@@pinecone1811yeah it didn’t even have a wrist pin in it
That dudes face when you guys were banging torque wrenches. 😂😂😂
The regret was real.
Wonder how much it cost to drop that piston?
I was thinking the same thing. Clack! "Welp, those need to be recalibrated now."😅
I would never allow these wahoos in my shop.
Yea I'd be worried too. Sure it uses a load cell so you aren't going to knock it out of cal from something like that but still... My digital snap on torque wrenches weren't cheap and if I let someone use them only to see them screw around it would be the last time they'd ever borrow a tool from me.
@@FloorItDuh agreed. I'll give you a chance until you prove me wrong.
@Ckeetus McFarland i have a really great idea of the whole turbo charging the engine on a different way no one ever has done it, it removes turbo lag, it removes turbo manifold piping, reduces alot back pressure, and i think it should make more power if you want i want to share my info and it should 100% work in my opinion, i dont want to share it just in case its gamechanging.
That's why I love following these guys. True and real content with none of the fake influencer crap. Much love to you all.
That's just like my dirty garage build, no machine work, dingle ball hone, SBC I'm building on the side of my house. I mean really, I don't see the difference. LOL.
Beautiful engine. Beautiful shop. Very smart people. I'm very impressed. So cool. Be safe!
Me neither basically the same thing as my VW.
I mean, my 1.6L D series Honda build is basically the same thing too 🤣
a Squirrel dingle hone is a free 200 Hp.
Throw 85lbs of boost at the SBC when it’s all said and done and watch it fly 😉😂
@@Iamyourfather1parts of it will fly lol
I just put it together...Cleet, George and Jack stand are the Three stooges of car Content.
Nyuk nyuk nyuk
The look on the Proline guy's faces when Cleetus scratched the intake was of pure shock 😂😅 What a piece of gear 👌
That and when they hit the torque wrenches together 😂
@Ayedidyae not drag racers? yeah i dont know about that.
@Ayedidyae yea sure.
@Ayedidyaewhy are you here then?
@Ayedidyae Laugh at you
Two important notes to takeaway: George immediately destroys one of the pistons and Garrett gave the spark plug well a good hawk tauh!!
Cleet and gang, I'm currently working on the Freedom Factory for Assetto Corsa and it's almost ready to be raced on, It's still missing a lot of stuff but the oval track it's self is basically complete. I'm planning to host a few races on it very soon, but would love to hear back from someone from the team first to make sure it's okay to do so first.
Rev this baby to the moon 🦅🦅
Lemme know when you get it done!! I’ll download and try that sucker out
Mate that is a serios piece of kit ! I had a real " thats not a pushrod ! THIS ! is a pushrod !!" moment , didnt even realise there was such a thing as pushrod envy !
"I've been known to break an anvil with a water hose." That killed me.
Now your going for it... I like the chevies for being dirt digger cheap to build. But ... when we wanna talk true rip power.. this is gonna eat your rear suspension, axles, driveline, trans... this IS the next level. Very cool Cleet and crew!
One of the best engine videos, I always wondered what the heads were torqued to, cant wait to see this car in action
If I were an engine builder, I would dread the day Cleetus came knocking on my door. HAHA
Cleetus would bring so much money and attention to you....... Why wouldn't you want that?
@@selfproclaimednobody4614 Yea Your right, what was I thinking.
If you're the best of the best and it's proven, you have nothing to lose. If he breaks shit, it's clearly his fault.
@@selfproclaimednobody4614because he will throw you under the bus when it’s obvious he abuses his stuff and lacks maintenance
I love that engine design! What a masterpiece!
Super cool off Proline to host the ornery boys and their shenanigans
Great show awesome engines nice work!
The look on George's face when he dropped that piston was priceless 😂
It’s good to see the guy from Demolition Ranch has a day job at Proline.
hell yeah brother im on the cleetus mcfarland youtube channel
Need more thumbs up for this comment.
I’ve been working in machine shops for about 2 and a half years now and seeing that block is making me act up
I love the genuine appreciation that Cleetus and his crew has for their viewers.
Crazy to think that engine is probably around $85,000
Fresh 564 raised cam, raised port MH7 Hemi with no accessories before tax is 114,522.
The German car manufacturers need to watch and learn from these guys about engine serviceability
You can see it in the crew's eye...they are so grateful to be all apart of a special group of guys, and Cleet is leading them to new heights !!! Another episode of learning and fun too !!!
Cleet washing his Hands with the good ole hawk tuah at 9:06 😂😂❤

@10:40 Cleet forgot the SMX is a dry deck deal too
Dude doesn't seem to remember anything about the smx lol
Yes but it still has a water jacket. This does not..
@@wingracer1614 I don't think the engine cares what its jacket is made out of, they don't feel cold like we do
He just slipped up on his terms and said dry deck instead of dry block the second time
@@jakejones4472 SMX doesn't have coolant flowing from the block to the heads via the head gasket. Both engines are dry sleeve, but the SMX does have coolant flowing around the heads. That's why there is 2 or 3 AN fittings on each head. That's one of the main reasons you can drag and drive that engine.
What I think he meant was, this is the first engine they own that doesn't have coolant in the heads.
Those hemis need 10 times the maintenance of the smx. We'll see how that goes.
He maintained the SMX per Steve’s instructions. He addressed it on his FB
Over revving and banging off the limiter several times is not maintaining it well lol @@KJ-kw7gh
@@KJ-kw7ghthey didn’t at all though regardless of what was said
@@shonuffLAjust because they don’t do everything on video, does not mean it didn’t happen.
@@shonuffLA Callin Cleeter a liar eh? How would you even know... you think you know everything that goes on in their shop because you watch some videos?
I must say, been watching this channel for so many years. And i almost forgot James name because they call him jackstand so much 😂 love the content and love how far you have all come!
The hemi and the SMX both don't have water jackets and are dry deck. But the SMX has coolant flowing around the head which allows it to be able to drive hundreds of miles.
Seeing some people getting confused on the difference. The hemi has no coolant going into the head
How much HP is that hemi?
@@qgshadow 5000 hp capable engine. Id assume he'll be running around 2800-3500 hp? It's still a small tire car. 2800-3500 is just a guess, but I know people have made roughly 5000 HP with that motor.
That’s the most beautiful shiny piece of jewelry I’ve ever seen
Feels like field trip day 😂
On one hand, I’ve been waiting for a long time for you guys to step up to this level, but then on the other hand, I have to ask myself how you have made Steve Morris feel not retaining him for your all out race car build rather than just your streetcar build stacked with the fact that you had Pete Harrell tuning a Steve Morris engine rather than staying true to Steve Morris all the way through
He has Texas Speed, Blue Print, HED, Steve Morris and now Proline engines. Cleetus helps the whole community grow well he also grows. Thats with land, sea and air with cleetus 😂😂
@@turkeytom93 He didn’t throw shade on anybody, he tells the truth and some people don’t like that. Cleetus has never thrown shade or made backhanded comments about anybody. Even after Cooper left, when he left the shop with Jeremy and also when Jeremy fired George and he hired him. He’s always taken the high road and only told the truth, that’s why a LOT of people like him.
Nothing wrong with a SMX engine, Steve just doesn’t have the means to test them and reengineer them for issues plus that engine was cursed from day 1. Steve had nothing but issues and Cleetus had nothing but issues. Sometimes you gotta know when to walk away when you’re punching above your weight limit. That engine, at that power level, pushing that much weight, running that many passes plus street driving doing D&D was well above its weight limit.
@@Beardest_FishingThe SMX would have been way more reliable, if Garrett and his crew had done proper maintenance on the engine/car/tranny etc etc.
As you said, pushing that much weight in a car not properly designed to go that fast was a recipe for disaster.
At the end of the day, If The proline engine is abused as much as the SMX, it will show.
Time will tell
You are worse than the Kardashians. Drama queen. It's Garret's money. He has made Steve lots of money from subscribers and monetization. You're way too emotional for a man.
I love when these guys act like my friends and I do in the same situation. Cleetus looking for his nuts and the Hawk Tuah is real.
"Just gotta HAWK TUAH, SPIT ON THAT THANG!"
xD
Bit ti mention canted value flows ah pretty amazing
Next up “ Cleetus enters the NPK “ series 😲😝🤙👏. Imagine the massive increase in views All over again for that series lol. What a build the Eagle is gonna be . The whole fleet is gonna be so freakin sick and so much FREEDOM 👏🙌
Cleetus dont run big tires, not sure why!
I hope he never joins up with the NPK guys n girls..cleeter and crew is too good for dramatics
Eagle is a small tire car.
NPK is damn near dead and even if it was at the top it takes years and years to get a car to the Ryan Martin level caliber of a car..
@@ICE-FYB it's a popularity contest like nascar
28:31 I’m pretty sure Alan and Steve pulled the head off without the intake coming off. Just this month on Sick Summer.
While you can do it due to the water system bullcrap it’s not a huge help like it is with the newer hemi stuff
@@54raceman I’m not even comparing the two. Yes they’re both billet big blocks, but completely apples to oranges. Steve is 3000 mile drag and drive. This is no water jackets at all, pure racing not drag and drive.
"That's why we are here,
To work on our trophy wall"
Good Luck Guys!!!
"little kid lights the amusement park on fire its the chaperone's fault"
The video was very well shot and the blogger was very creative
If a DeWalt impact and a chrome socket is good enough for Pro Line Racing, golly it’s good enough for me!
One thing that always blows my mind is the guys building these $100k engines on a gosh darn Harbor Freight engine stands. Doesn't anybody make a real heavy duty bald eagle holding engine stand that doesn't do the boot scootin' boogie when you're trying to torque the head studs?
They make them but they take up so much more room that in a high volume shop they’re not a good fit
Summit makes a pretty nice one that doesn't take up a lot of room. It's really stable and has a crank with a ring and pinion to turn it. Unfortunately you'd still be chasing it around with 220ft lb head studs.
That's 2,640 pounds per sq inch brother
I have an engine stand at work that won't move. But it's massive and holds 3,000 lb engines, made by OTR tools.
@@clifftonarnold6989good ole diesel stands
Was at the track on Wednesday and seen a beat up white older 300 Awd with a turbo running 11.0 on a hot day. Them nitrous solenoids or Injectors?? SHEEESHH Yall need rubber gloves when handling parts like that. Was it over 100k or under for that completed Hemi? I'll be rooting for you Cleeter, unless ur vs Brett.
I'm betting that piston/rod George dropped was on purpose for the video. I'm sure it was planned for the "Oh crap" affect. LOL
Yeah it was a used piston from a rebuild that was literally worth it’s weight in scrap to them
In Steve’s video working on Alan Whitaker’s Monte Carlo he showed a head being removed from a SMX without taking off the intake. Am I missing something here why they are so amazed in this video?
I'm amazed they don't make that lower intake valley foam gasket with an inner and outer lip that keeps the gasket from walking in or out while installing and keeps it centered.
Lmfao! “No you just gotta Hawk TUAH” 🤣🤣
Hemi brother here loving the hemi content cleat
Praying for John Force! Be careful out there.
Come on Garrett! Get your amazing crew an HVAC unit!
the engineering behind this engine is phenomenal, i loved the tech talk, damn thats a beautiful piece of machinery 🤙
I like how they use detroit diesel int compound #2 on the hardware of all the best engines out there
Watch out Tom Bailey, Ole cleet is headed your way.
so ive worked with the proline 481x before given what cleetus can do with this combo i can see close to a 5k hp car possibly
I think I started on a Briggs & Stratton on a workbench 7 years old.. and got it running
Leyroy is going back in time..GD!!!.. the new body is sick af.
you just have name him Eagle 1 atp
"You guys ever assemble one of these this fast?" Brother!
After all the GM/FORD builds you have done, I'm pretty excited to see what you guys do with the HEMI.
6:30 Soooooooooo, what order is that piston and rod going into!??? Heck ya! Also, we need a T-shirt for said butter fingers George 👍
Ohhhh George surely had to have a meeting with HR after dropping that piston 🤣
That Motor needs a log book of every run to keep accurate track of the maintenance.
This was a good video, fleets putting the 1st scratch on it got me lol, and hemi brothers got them a killer hemi. That pro line engine is a beast and probably one of the nicest engines I've seen. The quality of it is unbelievable. You guys should win a lot of race. Justt make sure to keep track of when the rods need changing and you be fine.
Holy smokes...that guy with cleetus..I seen him with Fireman Dan and Troy perez talking about a closed trailer match..he done grown-up lol
You finally made the best choice. HEMI
Daaaang, a Pro Line? Congrats
I don’t even think they cut the video and just built a whole engine just crazy
What a beautiful beast of an engine! I never considered you would go Hemi, but it sure makes sense. Cannot wait to see her rip.
I torqued @ 235 lbs on the mack 40 bolt per engine done over 600 rebuilds you get use to it some of the older cummins are up around 500 lbs only 9 bolts per head x 3 27 total
Respect on the torque wrenches. I have seen dudes struggle with 160
George “Do we have to lube that up”
Cleet “na just gotta spit on that thang hawk tua”
😂😂😂😂
Damn near woke my son up from laughing so hard!
I START SHAKING WHEN I SEE A HEMI, HEMI BROTHERS!
Cleet, being a pilot, I know you're familiar with the Hobbs meter. Having such an expensive, precise and pretty machine, and knowing the importance of cycle tracking, it seems to me as a worthy investment. The other thing that should be done as a back up is a digital cycle & hour meter built into the software. Easy enough to keep track cycles.
Well since Cleetus will be going through so many sets of rods, should we make him put them in random orders every time he gets a new set?
Doing the HEMI Grunt torquing those heads😂
I love how you can see Cleet STRUGGLING to contain his excitement when they're going over the engine in the beginning of the video.
Base toon 85 pounds limiter at 1100 shoot I'm learning so much in this vidoe! every proline should come with one dropped piston........
"We don't want this one, it's scratched"🤣
This was extremely interesting and so much fun to watch. Everyone cracking jokes is keeping the mood light. The Eagle project is moving fast! Can't wait to see what's next. Thank you for sharing this with us!
