The GP23 used by the Gresini team is supposed to by around three-tenths a lap slower than the 2024 counterpart. But it looks like nobody told Marc😂. Brilliantly ridden race to second and a shoutout to Fabio Quatararo on finishing 5th.✊😎

The GP23 is Portimao spec from last year. It js nearly 4 to 5 tenths slower than GP24s. Last year Alex Marquez won here but was nearly 0.6 seconds slower per lap in yesterday's sprint.

@@DreamingWhite-c2e Keep in mind that Marc Marquez' objective is to win at least a 9th title, to equal Valentino Rossi, and possibly go 10 in 2026 before retiring. This always was the plan, and most likely the reason why he came back after that bad injury.
You cannot blame Ducati for chosing Marquez over Martin. Its a business decision. Poor Martin was at the wrong place at the wrong time. But even if he had been chosen over Bastianini in 2023, he would have still been released to make room for Marquez.
Marquez on an official Ducati next year and the one after, it is going to boost the sales which are already going very well for Ducati.
At least, Martin will have won one world title; this is already a big perk.

Both riders have made BLUNDERS all season long. Not impressed by the sophmoric mistakes, time and time again. A season of inconsistencies, lack of focus in critical moments and silly mistakes. 🙄
I'm a fan of Pecco, but Martin deserves A World Champion.. Let's just keep enjoying the show. The both are the greatest riders at the moment.

I have rooted for Bagnaia for the past three years, but there is no doubt in my mind Martin deserves the title a whole lot more. In fact, I'd be disappointed if JM did not win the championship this year.

IMO, the best thing that could happen to Pecco on Sunday, is that MM 93 & Enea 23 both finish in front of Martin on the podium with Pecco 1st. Martin finishing 4th place or lower.

the saddest thing about this year's championship is that Pecco who won 9 races still lost the title because he wasn't consistent enough in the sprint races/
The rules are the same for everyone. After all, Bagnaia led the championship at the end of only 3 GPs. Martin has led at the end of the other 16 GPs, so no one can tell that he does not deserve to win. He brilliantly managed his points gap every single time.

Marc was lapping same times as Jorge martin on gp24 though Jorge had more in his hands and kept it easy going till finish line. Second Gp23 was in fourth and avg pace was off half a second slower than leading pack. Bezzecchi on GP23 was whole 1 second off pace from Marc's leading Ducati GP23.

martin are more mature ride this season
The rate at which top level MotoGP riders crash entirely of their own fault is quite shocking. On any given day it seems like at least one of the top 5 riders is in the gravel without being touched or shoved off. I've never seen this rate of crashing among the elite of the elite in all the other eras of top level racing I've watched. In other words yeah, it's great time to be a fan.
Because on this era ,they are literally pushing and playing with limits of the bike almost every lap....high risk high reward attitude....
Martin will take that No:1 to Aprilia next season. I love it!
