So I forced myself to spend time on this track for the Manu race, considering I have avoided this place for years. I actually grew to love the track for time-trialing. The long sweeping turns link up nicely to create some fun combinations of corners. But I do agree with the racing aspect. Got to the Manu race, and only managed to overtake two people (who didn't mess up) the entire race. But I do love time-trialing here. Kinda gives me Suzuka vibes.
I kinda like Autopolis. Not a great track for overtaking, but you just can't take a break while driving here, or else you are meeting Barry R sooner than later. That makes the races interesting, cause even if you are leading by 20 seconds you're always on the edge. Very technical track, so satisfying when you nail a great race there imo.
I don't like these kind of single file tracks unless it's a time trial situation. It's a bit like rallying - you can have a lot of fun with no one around you, but other cars just make it less fun. Fun to drive, miserable to race on. Solution: make them time trial competitions not racing ones?
Oh man, need more players like midnight pumpkin. I'm sure it's a nightmare to race against but as a viewer I couldn't stop laughing at him goku instant transmissioning all over the track.
I liked this race. I think my PB was high 1.37 and in race mid 1.38. I've been playing casually GT from the ps1 era and just now tried online races, now I'm considering to get a wheel setup altough controller has served well so far.
I garantee your times will get better. I have raced similar for years and have never been so consistant since I got my Thrustmaster RS300. It would be a great asset to your driving. You might even beat SuperGT then!
It's an honor being able to hold on to the almighty and infamous P6 in front of SuperGT :O Anyway Steve, thanks for the race and the great content you keep giving us!
After a long day of practicing the braking license challenge in real life at my daughters pre-school, I’m glad I can finally tune to watch my favorite videos! Cheers
I appreciate why you're willing to go out of your comfort zone. Even if it is for the sake of content, it's a good lesson to those who want to get better at things.
You talking about the undercut got me thinking. It would be a really cool addition if the track map showed you different coloured icons for the cars behind and ahead based on whether you could pit and get ahead. Let’s say if the car behind will overtake you if you pit, it shows as red, if it’s within a certain window where they might it could be orange, and then further back they show as green to show that you’ll definitely stay ahead them if you pit. It could likewise indicate the cars ahead if they’re clear of you or at risk of losing their place to you with the same colours. Thoughts?
Gr.2 is not the right type of cars for Autopolis because of the dirty air. I have had many fun races in Gr.3 at Autopolis and I think it could be very good in Gr.4 as well, although I do not like Gr.4 as much. This track is the perfect example of what could happen when you are too patient with overtaking into turn one or turn seven; and some nice round the outside action as well into these two corners. This is a circuit where you really need to work for your overtakes.
The dirty air in this race gave me anxiety in the third sector, literally the worst place to have loads of understeer. I used to be tired of GR3/4 and called for GR2/1 races, but after this daily C I wouldn’t care less about having gr3/4 races all the time given the dirty air situation here
THANK YOU!!! Autopolis is the worst track I’ve ever seen! Never got a good lap time or anything there! I hated it when it came out for GTS yet everyone seemed to love it.
@Ali Mahdavi which Nurburgring configuration? I used to dislike a few configurations at the Ring! I've grown to enjoy every single one for the different challenges they've got on offer!
Not gonna lie, I really like it. It has a really nice flow in my opinion. Although it’s really hard to get a quick lap around there, I have to admit it, but I think it’s a pretty decent track.
I LOVE this track. Lol. I suppose I am used to it though. It's an intense course with not many areas to make passes. It just pushes me to try harder and think outside the box, although it does offer an unfair advantage to those higher in the grid.

1:52 mans was Finnish tho. Finnished. And as fun as it is to watch the alien go about it's thing at 9:50, this kind of internet connection shouldn't be allowed in online races, can only imagine how frustrating it was for everyone to deal with. PD should make it so that people connections as bad as this are ghosted ASAP if the connection goes to shit.
Somebody knowledgeable about netcode, could you elaborate on this please! The car in the beginning of the video, why does bad connection make it go side to side? Why doesn't it just lag forward? I know it's getting coordinates, maybe inputs from another player, but how does latency make the car go all over the place?
Wow. That dirty air was horrendous. I do really like the matchmaking of this game, though. Knowing you're joining a race with drivers of the same pace makes for some really fun racing.
Lol that orange car is the icon for “never let them know your next move”. People trying to avoid earning themselves a penalty while bro is the embodiment of madness, there’s no wonder they were disrupted 😂
Ahh the alien with the Maccas wifi 😂. Gotta love that 😂😂😂 Autopolis is a difficult track, but I do enjoy the challenge, and that makes it good. Not much point if it’s “too easy”.
Autopolis has technical sections that remind me of the old Circuit Park Mine, which Mazda bought and turned into their test facility/proving ground. RIP CP Mine.
SuperGT I'm a racer too! I have some tips for everybody!!!! 😉 I finish laps really fast so listen close, please. GT7 fun fact: Stop the car from going too fast around corners so you can still have a great time! If you're not having a good lap, check if you're sober, because you might be drunk still. The slow car can win if it finishes before the fast car. If you're not sure what the third pedal does, don't worry. Just stay positive and your car will go even faster. I always pray to God that all the drivers crash in front of me before I go to bed every night in my bed. Amen! 🫡💯🤗
Hey Super GT, I'm new to online racing and loving it. I think I'll improve when I start driving with the VR2. Will you be doing the same? I would love to see you review it? Keep up the great content!!!!
Honestly, irl, Autopolis is quite capable of hosting good racing. In terms of major int'l events, I'd say it's 2nd in quality of circuit only to Suzuka in Japan. (Admittedly, I think Sugo is pretty good, too, but it would probably be considered too short on the lap.) The front straight at Autopolis is 902 m, which compares rather well to the front straight at Sepang, Malaysia (905 m); the opposite straight at Sepang is just 855 m. Autopolis is the standard width for a modern, natural-terrain road course, with the minimum being 12 m (~40 ft), and the pit straight being 15 m (~50 ft). So it both has long straights and isn't actually abnormally narrow by any means. (I'd honestly like to know what Suzuka's minim width is.) T1 and T10 are solid braking zones from high speed. T3 can work, too. T11 can work if you're brave. And if you're creative, you can find other spots to overtake. And the place isn't lacking in undulations, having a 171-ft difference from high to low. I think the game may be being a bit harsh, even if the Class 1 cars (defunct DTM) don't have the best reputation. Perhaps GT7 is catering a little too much toward the pros, and only that category of players. On a side note, Super GT is multi-class racing, so those traffic-jam sections are where some of the best moments in the actual, real-life races come from. I'd also suggest watching the 2007 American Le Mans Series race from Mosport Park up in Ontario, Canada. As for GT7, I bet Sonoma/Sears Point could well be markedly harder if they added it.
I remember playing this track in NFS Shift many years ago and I hated it too. The atrocious handling of that game made it so that every bump in the circuit sent my car spinning. I have mild PTSD with this circuit and Willow Springs.
so this is basically a what ever position you start in is what you get unless you get lucky and someone 1 crashes 2 you get lucky by pitting a lap before everyone else

The only thing scarier than the alien driver is the fact that everyone else must’ve looked the same to him as he looked to us.
He is alien for other racers but that means other racers are aliens for him
He must have been scared while racing against so many aliens
Most likely everyone else looked to be crashed off the side of the track and he would have been in 1st place until the others crossed the finish line.
Thats deep
Hey you choose to come here you sort your hardware out, big boys use big toys..
The alien bit was hilarious. No contact, pure psychology drove multiple opponents straight out of the track.
The humor! The overtakes! The lag and destruction!
A classic Super GT video that we all love!
Well done on Liking The Thing
SuperGT: let me show you how hard it is to overtake on this track
*gains more than 6 positions
He’s a great driver so he made it look easy but I can assure you it’s not but also take into account he had some help from the laggy Orange car
Steve really showed how hard it was
"Aliens."

This track is a ton of fun in the K Car endurance mission. I feel like it lends itself well to road cars, in general
So much fun hot lapping in Gr2 or super formula
This track was supposed to host an F1 race in 1993 but the owners went bust and the spot went to Donnington for a one off
That orange car is straight out of GT4 Online
ong hello rowdy
I personally love autopolis but I love really technical sectors that most Japanese circuits have.
Suzuka is the perfect technical circuit from Japan imo
Japan has the best circuits
Tilke take notes

“Warming up the tires in an incredibly peculiar way” absolute gold Steve
Got to see this track in NFS Prostreet. Loved its drift courses.
Is the Lakeside course in Prostreet?
@TrolledBy1337 yes, and it's the craziest track in the game when you're driving 800hp grip cars
@Coolduder456 this is honestly a mind = blown moment for me because I never ever have thought that it was mirrored Watkins Glen
The extra terrestrial technology had me in tears... The dry ass humor is so good! Thanks Super GT
Personally I enjoy the challenge of this track , sure it can be difficult to overtake but so can the nordschleife and I love driving that.
same, i think they both have a nice flow. Especially the nurburgring at sectors 8-12
Best sector 3 I’ve ever seen
1:31 that lagging car took me all the way back to your "scratching cars" intro which was hilarious.
Oh man, need more players like midnight pumpkin. I'm sure it's a nightmare to race against but as a viewer I couldn't stop laughing at him goku instant transmissioning all over the track.
Steve his commentary is very helpful for non english speakers he speaks calmly and very clearly
Been watching your videos for about 2 years now.
Just wanted to let you know that I like your voice. You're helping me fall asleep when I'm anxious
It's kinda like I feel about the Nordschleife: Fun to do laps in time trials but not for racing
I liked this race. I think my PB was high 1.37 and in race mid 1.38. I've been playing casually GT from the ps1 era and just now tried online races, now I'm considering to get a wheel setup altough controller has served well so far.

The guy in the orange car taps into the multiverse and lives the lives of his other selves all at once.
THANK YOU!!! Autopolis is the worst track I’ve ever seen! Never got a good lap time or anything there! I hated it when it came out for GTS yet everyone seemed to love it.
This one and Nurburgring short circuit… worst and hardest ones to get right

I like the track, purely time trial reasons. Sure it’s hard, but it has a nice flow to it. Kinda like a mini Nurburgring.
Good lord that orange guy reminds me of early GT5 online lobbies LOL
Agreed. I never have been able to do well on this circuit

Starting to think PD should be adding more distractions into the gameplay… maybe each car starts with a banana peel or red shell.
Autopolis is in NFS Pro Street, NFS Shift 1 and 2 and available as a mod for Assetto Corsa

I went on TH-cam & I found this, I immediately smiled & clicked on it & the next 18 minutes were packed with entertainment😅😍
The rain feature here is awesome or racing at night it gives this track a new view
*1 hour of Autopolis with keicars flashbacks*
Hey Super GT I miss your live streams but still loving and liking
You actually encountered this alien before! In your video "This race shouldn't be possible"!
OMG, the one bar red, "alien" car is hysterical!
Autopolis has technical sections that remind me of the old Circuit Park Mine, which Mazda bought and turned into their test facility/proving ground.
RIP CP Mine.
"Beginning to die of death"
-Super GT
RIP GT-Lizzy and shout out to his family.
I always drive on this track when I feel like taking a regular car out for a cruise. It's hardly a race track.
Mt. Panorama is particularly challenging for me personally.
Same, I've never been able to get to grips with that track, something about it just doesn't click with me.
Bathurst is extremely challenging because it's so fast and bumpy, I mean it's a real road lol.
Autopolis has quite a few low speed sections.
No Steve, that’s not alien activity, that’s McDonalds advertising via their amazing wi-fi.
SuperGT I'm a racer too! I have some tips for everybody!!!! 😉

That Brit in the orange car using a dial-up connection 😄
This track kinda feels like a roller coaster. It's fun and loopy but you feel like you're on rails when it comes to overtaking.
lol And Super GT does multi-class racing here. Imagine 15 Gr.2 cars, AND 20+ Gr.3 cars racing at the same time.
Great memories of this track on prostreet
While Super GT is busy with strategic warfare, Nissan is exploiting his powers in psychological warfare
I wonder how the 'laggy alien' was seeing the race. If they had 1 bar of signal, would that not also impact their ability to see things in realtime?
It sure would which is likely why they weren't straight most of the time
That Orange car is clearly Vanellope von Schweetz.

the alien part gave me a flashback from IntoTheBarrier

The patented Epic ONE BAR, RED CONNECTION.
thanks Steve for putting the effort! appreciated indeed :)
I love the Honder NSX concept.
Super GT work your way up the ranks on online racing with just a controller and see how far you get!
I love that Top Gear reference in the beginning of the video lol
I always thought this was twin ring Monteghi
1:50 dutch player? that guy was finnish, there were 2 dutch people in that race and both where far ahead.
9:20 Bro was playing on Dial Up
I love autopolis. Great mix of corners.
I'll admit I tend to struggle getting my entry speed right on the first corner but after that it's all good
I wish GT7 would employ the same feature of not allowing racers with less than minimal connection speeds into online daily races like GT Sport did.
That’s not Aliens. 😂
…It’s just Mr Bean out on his first DIY Sim Rig! 😏
so this is basically a what ever position you start in is what you get unless you get lucky and someone

Daily races COULD be so cool... "could be so cool" is pretty much what i feel about all of gt7, a real shame
I wish they were actually what they're called and changed on a daily basis. I don't wanna drive the same 3 tracks for a week.
@@ElainaMaruyama this. A gt7 player isnt gonna practise the same track for a week... im just really confused why they would even do that...

I really enjoyed this track in GR2 and in manufacture cup final.
I only remember Autopolis on Need for Speed: Pro Street lol. I don't like it that much on there either
Somewhere in Japan there's a driver that goes by Formula_One who doesn't like Spa and BMWs.
Great Oration, Love the content!!!
