Re: compressed music It may just be that ATLUS doesn't have all of the uncompressed files anymore. The cool thing about Nocturne music is that every normal battle theme has multiple solos, but strangely, these were not present in the OST CDs - they just picked one for each track - and were never made available without the compression. I had heard that the people who were responsible behind the remaster glowup was seperate from atlus, consisting of only 14+ people, so it having alot of issues isn't inherently surprising. It's a shame it's as expensive as is, especially since there's still plenty of kinks needed to be ironed out, having them fix the fusion inheritance thing literally *everyone* wanted is almost worth getting the game on its own, lol, but I've been wanting to replay nocturne myself after beating it last year, and the dlc music might help bring something new, but whether or not I'll wait for a sale has yet to be seen. @@zaandam0172 nothing really. Nocturne and V are both smt games, the third and fifth games in the franchise. Only thing different is story, but the core story elements and gameplay are the same
Still not buying it until there's a price drop or it's on sale. The US price is already too high, but here in Europe they expect us to pay $10 more for each version, and that's just way too much for a remaster of a PS2 game. Some countries like Brazil have it even worse and are getting completely scammed by the pricing (except if it's been fixed since the announcement), that's not right. And then, you look at Mass Effect Legendary, 3 remastered games and a shit ton of included DLCs, coming out around the same time as Nocturne HD for $10 less than its deluxe edition, the choice is pretty easy to make.
I've never played a Shin Megami Tensei game as many seemed to be on nintendo. I do love the persona series though and with this on PS4, am curious to try it. I heard these games are quite difficult compared to the Persona games?
I hope that steam version of SMT 3 will not be bad and about soundtrack - like dragon quest 11 steam workshop could make mod with orchestral music. And now with the announcement of PC Gaming show 2021 we should wait and see if Atlus will participate in it - maybe it's nearest the event with something new about Atlus games before 25th Anniversary in september.
I like how when persona 5 royal came out , which was a rerelease of a game on the same console with minimal content added and it also had a shit ton of dlc (which is completely unacceptable ) nobody complained but nocturne which is a remaster of a masterpiece of a game and newer consoles and pc for not even 50$ it's a problem ?
Going for Steam version when it goes on sale cause it's still too pricey for me (CAD dollar sucks). Would not mind owning the Switch version later on as well since I would not mind buying the same game twice sometimes (Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Definitive Edition).
Honestly, I am torn between simply playing Nocturne on PS3 vs playing Nocturne on Switch when the price difference is pretty big. On one hand, there is portability, voice acting, QoL improvements regarding demon fusions, Raidou Kuzunoha, and a casual difficulty mode fitting for a scrub like me who plays SMT IV with that OP DLC armour; but on the other hand, Dante is DLC and the overall game in terms of story, core gameplay and music remains the same. I feel like Nocturne on Switch would be my go-to option if the lowered difficulty and QoL improvements would make it far easier for me to commit to the game in the long-term. Also not sure whether I want Raidou or Dante in my playthrough. They are both Chads so it is hard to choose.
Speedrunner here, HD doesn't just have longer load times than PS2/PS3, the interface is slower. Windows fly in from the side instead of appearing instantly. Expect your runs to be 1-2 hours longer at the very least. Edit: also Dante is kind of a pay2win, the secret final boss is actually much harder in Raidou's version of the game.
If I helped you make a decision with the game, let me know by dropping a like and helping me at the same time! Thanks for your continued support y'all!

@@MakoTenseii I played it too, battle animations can be extremely stiff and when you encounter Matador and he manifests, my switch almost bricked itself, I didn't think it'd make it through. Do you by chance happen to work for Atlus?
@@Fuggettabouttitt Matador is literally the only encounter that has issues m8
@@MakoTenseii That is False.
i recommend holding off till somebody made the hardtype mod... once you play hardtype, its hard to go back to regular nocturne
I don't think I could stomach the game being much tougher lol XD
@@legefy hardtype is for people who knows nocturne inside out.
also you dont want to fight a demon in the Labyrinth of Amala during Full Kagutsuchi
Love the video David. Your channel has been growing really well, I think u can get to 10k by the end of the year. Keep up the good content :)
Thank you I really appreciate that 🙌
hey david, do you think its worth paying the extra $10 for the deluxe edition? I paid off my preorder for the regular version but idk if I would be into nocturne enough to buy a deluxe edition...
I dont think so personally, the dlcs arent worth it imo
Hi David! I really don't get Atlus and Sega..Nocturne is an old game with a west release already..Why we had to wait 15months to get it here?
The voice acting
@@BTENuclear hence why I have a bit of disdain for dubs. Why not release it as an update when it's ready and let everyone else play how they want?
Bought the Steam Version in hopes of better load times and uncompressed audio mod.
Edit: Will double dip for the Switch ver. in the future.
Thanks for the info! I'm gonna wait for the reviews on the Steam version.
I just think of the blur during cutscenes as an artistic choice.
It is quite interesting to hear though both versions atm run the same, but I'll still aim for ps4 anyway, lol
I was able to get persona 4 golden running perfect on steam. All that lag and frame drops during those animated cutscenes I figured out. I got rid of the other small issues myself by editing the game files
THANK YOU this video helped me so much
Even though I wish the remaster had more polish and work put into it, I'm still getting it so I can support Atlus and future SMT games.
What's the name of the OST playing on 15:35?
Smt 3 nocturne title loop 2 (:
Thanks.
I got the game wishlisted on steam but might wait with getting it mainly becouse there are SO many great games coming out(already busy with Nier Replicant) so am honestly trying to keep up with it all.
That said, i want to try a SMT game for once, so hope this one can give me that while also feeling good.
Still, lets hope they ported it good to PC, last thing we need is problems becouse of engine problems, wich is what it sounds like from what u told us.
I think I might get the steam version of a discount happens, mostly because I’m broke
I hope there's Ultrawide support on PC but it's doubtful
I just straight up went fuck it and bought the digital deluxe version, eng ver, said it was something that happened rarly so I just agreed on the price.
The Switch isn't a portable console for me (I can't fit a tablet in my pocket.) So I will probably get the PC version after I hear about any bugs/framerate and plans for patches/fan patches.
Atlus knew that the game would sell with no effort because everyone loves it
And because they wanted to focus everything they got on V
@@zaandam0172 nothing really. Nocturne and V are both smt games, the third and fifth games in the franchise. Only thing different is story, but the core story elements and gameplay are the same
Go Team Raido!
Who else would love to have a remaster of the Raido games come to modern hardware?
Still not buying it until there's a price drop or it's on sale.
The US price is already too high, but here in Europe they expect us to pay $10 more for each version, and that's just way too much for a remaster of a PS2 game.
Some countries like Brazil have it even worse and are getting completely scammed by the pricing (except if it's been fixed since the announcement), that's not right.
And then, you look at Mass Effect Legendary, 3 remastered games and a shit ton of included DLCs, coming out around the same time as Nocturne HD for $10 less than its deluxe edition, the choice is pretty easy to make.
Is labarynth of amala cut out?
good vid but all the discord notif sounds faintly in the background made me check mine more than once
IM A DUMBASS SORRY
Great job. Thank you
Good video, man. Subscribed!
Thank you so much 😁🙏
Does this make Nocturne HD the first HD SMT game (unless you count Tokyo Mirage Sessions)
Yes
@@DavidCastJRPGs Sweet
are you able to enable and disable maniax?
No, you choose before a playthrough
Thanks for this video!
Thank you for watching! 🙌
If I do get it, it'll be for Switch. Could Raidou being in this be a way to signal ports of spin-off games?
One can hope for it, however raidou being in this doesn't hint at anything
I'm going for PS4 version because eShop stopped accepting my VISA in January (this year), but no way I'm gonna buy deluxe version.
I'm so excited to play this again. It'll take me back to high school
I've never played a Shin Megami Tensei game as many seemed to be on nintendo. I do love the persona series though and with this on PS4, am curious to try it. I heard these games are quite difficult compared to the Persona games?
They have some similarities but are indeed very different in multiple ways!
How often do you get lost in this game?
I pre ordered nocturne the first day it was on the playstation store for full price, was it worth it? Prolly not
What’s the font in the thumbnail? Thanks in advance!

I wish the remastered retained the original’s sans serif FONT that I love
This is gonna be my first smt game, can't wait!! Btw, I have a question. Where are u from? :)
Thats awesome, you'll have a blast! I am from Canada :)
@@DavidCastJRPGs Yea i can't wait :)
Facts 👆👆👆 I did complain anout the dlcs personally. Re releasing a game as a definitive version but selling dlc for it is terrible
@@DavidCastJRPGs oh yeah I know I wasn't talking about you my dude
So wait...if I buy the pack for Dante, I can’t have a story with raidou? Or is it changeable?
It's locked per save😭
Whats happens if you dont download the chronicles pack. Will it just be the original version of the game japan first got?
I think if your on Steam, you wont have the options, its going to be a mandatory download! I didnt find the information tho so im just assuming things
Does the japanese version have the option of English text?
Unfortunately not. The English version will have japanese VA available as an option tho
@@DavidCastJRPGs I see, thanks for the info!!
Thank you for watching!
Do raidou and Dante have the same moves, are they same element/weaknesses
I’ve bought the pc version, I have a powerfulish computer and it runs fine, my only issue is it’s locked at 30fps
I double dipped with PC and Switch versions. Quadruple dipped if you consider the PS2 and PS2 Classic versions
playing through older MST games then coppin this when it goes on sale & all the patches drop
mhin segami tensei
@@chaval6903 lmaaoo
Me?? In HD?? That’s worth at least $60 alone.
Does anybody know if the Switch patch is on the cartridge? Would really appreciate knowing before buying
Not sure about that myself, im still waiting for my physical copies
How are the performance issues compared to the original version?
Similar in general. The massive drops (which are very rare mind you) are worse in the remaster. For example, the matador fight cutscene

Buy the deluxe edition on the Mexican e-shop, I got it for 43 dlls. I don't know why but everything SEGA related is way cheaper in that e-shop.
