    Made the upgrade to Attack Blue on my son’s car today. You left out the part where we drop our 8mm socket down into the engine bay.😅 I so wanted to here it hit the concrete below. Adds about 30 minutes to the process. 😊. Otherwise, no problems and the car seems to run great.

    I've never swapped any of the air filters or boxes in our Vettes. There's just so many to choose from, I could never figure out which one might be better so I just decided not to worry about it.
    I did run the K&N filter in my '69 Charger. It didn't help it any but I got a cool sticker with it :)

      Yes it’s a subtle change but can wash & reuse so not a bad option.

    The only accurate way to check a horsepower increase would be to start with a new stock filter and do a dyno test. Then replace the stock filter with the Attack Blue filter and do another dyno pull. The only problem with that is that dyno time isn't cheap.

    • @CarGuy11
      @CarGuy11  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah true & not worth it for a couple horsepower difference.

    Installed Attack filter today and check engine light came on at startup. Disconnected and reconnected negative battery cable and light went out. Bad and cold weather prevents road test today.

    Just an FYI, The hood vent is not a cold air intake for the air filter. That air comes through the front. The hood vent is for escaping air to prevent hot air from gathering around the engine, so the heat is removed more effectively.

    • @CarGuy11
      @CarGuy11  ปีที่แล้ว

    It makes sense if you notice a difference in throttle response with the exhaust valves open. More air coming in, needs more air to go out to gain the benefit of a more free flowing filter. As to sound. Not loud enough. You know what they say, if it's too loud, you're too old. LOL Save the Wave.

    I replace my stock Factory air box with the factory performance air box don't know about any horsepower gains but throttle response was a lot better and you can tell that it breathe easier. The factory performance air box is bigger on the inside than the stock box you can do a side-by-side comparison I did so you can see the Improvement

    • @CarGuy11

      This filter is larger & less restrictive than stock yet it filters better because of nano fibers.

      @@justinreid8851 Carguy11 picked up about 10hp without doing anything. No tune ( a tune can void your warranty) and no modifying the air box. He just dropped the Attack Blue filter in. Whats equally important is filtration. Its a fact that nano fibers (used for the Attack Blue media) offers the absolute best filtration with the most airflow. There's no trade off.

    • @CarGuy11

      It’s adds to the raw experience. But it may help airflow and power as well.

      @salvadormonella8953 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarGuy11 Well, I sure hope you’re right. I put an attack blue on my C6 a week ago. I think it’s flowing better than stock. Have you out it on a flow tester to get CFM? I stuck an OBDII scanner on my C6, and it looks like more air is moving, but it’s tricky to get accurate results because the ECM adjusts so many parameters at the same time. The hold down bracket is garbage. I didn’t have the stock bracket because there was a K&N in mine previously, so I bought theirs. Yeah, not a good choice. I need to just fashion my own hold down brackets. I did two. I need to do them all.

    NOT a good review because you're comparing the new aftermarket to an old 25k miles OEM filter (needs to be a new OEM). I replaced my OEM filter at 15k miles and it felt punchier too.

    • @CarGuy11
      @CarGuy11  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well yes this is true but there is a slight sound difference that wasn’t on stock filter.
