Really good stuff! If I could offer some advice though, it's not a good idea to have a glove on your left hand whilst using a drop saw...in a mishap your skin will rip and hopefully you will pull away. A glove on the other hand will catch and pull your hand into the saw. I don't mean to patronise but I can't see that and not say something. Hoping this is recieved well. Cheers. Ciarán
You guys who have a nice space to enjoy projects like this should NEVER take it for granted. What I would give to have work area like this....Great video :)
I came across your video while looking for a planter box to build at my wife's request. This one checks all the boxes. Beautiful job and very functional.
Brad Brad the family man. Love it bro...and creating something that both you and your kids can spend time with is absolutely the best life can give you. Gave me a good smile at the end. Happy father's day and great project.
This has to be the best planter box on the internet. I like the look of the wood coupled with the functionality of the drain so your plants don't drown. Thanks for the upload!
I just built one of these with my girlfriend. She’s been planting so much, I modified the dimensions to make it bigger and since it’s going on our balcony with minimal drainage, I added a bucket/tray holder for the water to drain into and not get all over our floor.
I get so excited when a new video pops up!!! My mother is going to love this. I've done a planter box around our standing bird feeder and a garden bridge. She just keeps adding to the list thanks to you Brad! Awesome job! :)
bought the plans, am nearly finished, but also adding a side handle, couple of wheels and a place to store a few garden tools. great project. great plans. keep up the good videos.
I made a smaller version of this for my wife... she showed her friends and now i have at least 15 orders of this planter box. A little extra money never hurts. 👍👍👍
One question. Does it make sense to replace your wood with the cheapest pine OR even plywood stripes AND cover with some oil or poly protective liquid? Just to make the project cheaper and eligible for multiple repeating? Cause I'm considering to make a sort of Planter Box Garden in my backyard. Wouldn't it be looking cheap with pine/plywood?
First time ripping stuff on my table saw and found out the hard way to look out out those loose knots. Got a nice stamp on my forearm from it shooting back at me.
Love the drainage concept. Are there any issues with using the plastic lining causing moisture buildup that will harm the herbs? I know some will drain, but there will not be any air circulation.
God bless you, amazing job probably the best video I’ve seen to make one of these. You’ve explained everything very nicely not confusing whatsoever and with the water spout that just finishes up the job perfectly it’s like a work of art thank you again for your video.
Great! As always! I like the effect, that i actually do not need a planter Box, but in the way you Work it out, is much more Tipps and tricks for other things.......
Exceptionally beautiful build! Question: I don't understand the fabric? It's under the plastic and how is it doing anything to block soil? I think it's to stop saturation around the four holes. Yet the holes are over the PVC?
Your planter box is one of the nicest I've seen on TH-cam. And you have done an excellent job with this video. I will be making something like this, but am concerned about expansion and contraction with the sides and legs glued and screwed as you've done. How is your planter holding up?
Fix This Build That Something happened during my checkout and I could not return to the checkout page to finalize getting the free plans for this project. Can you help with that please? Thanks.

Good and inspiring ideas for raised planter with built in drainage

4:43 Too cute. Love ALL your WORK.
Thank you!
Question for you: now that you are a year in would you mind commenting on how your drainage system is working?
I get so excited when a new video pops up!!! My mother is going to love this. I've done a planter box around our standing bird feeder and a garden bridge. She just keeps adding to the list thanks to you Brad! Awesome job! :)
Thanks, glad you like it!
bought the plans, am nearly finished, but also adding a side handle, couple of wheels and a place to store a few garden tools. great project. great plans. keep up the good videos.
Now that's a nice planter! You're right. That spar urethane really warms up the cedar.
This brought me so many little tips and gave me a good walkthrough on something I am interested in building. Awesome vid.
Totally agree with your système for the water drainage and the plastic side covering.
Nice build. Drainage system is a cool move.
For black plastic 3 mil large construction grade contractors bags will also work really well.
That's a real work of art, I admire your carpentry skills! Great step by step video too, there's a lot of steps but the outcome is incredible!
I made a smaller version of this for my wife... she showed her friends and now i have at least 15 orders of this planter box. A little extra money never hurts. 👍👍👍
I have worked with my hands my whole life but; that Iron trick just blew my mind!!!
My wife is gonna love this!!! Thank you!
Hope she does!
Very nice craftsmanship. I like your drainage idea. Keeping the water off the wood makes the planter last much longer. Thanks for sharing this video.
You're welcome!
That little corner hole drilling jig is sweet! Great walkthrough
thanks, Timmy! It's the hat powering me on :)
Fix This Build That Hahaha! I knew you looked especially good in this one 😁
I built my planter box and love it. I used pine wood instead of cedar but it looks great! Thanks for the plans!
You're welcome!
Shouldn't he be thanking you for buying the plans? Lol
Maaaan, this exact Planter Box building process is frkn best of the subj I've seen on TH-cam so far!
Thank you!
Subscribing and following you.

Awesome, that will look great!
I like your work. Excellent job.
Really great, spending that bit of extra time picking out the colour patterns really paid off!
It's the little details that always make the difference for me
Love your designs, work and the videos which are always well done, concise, and complete. Including mistakes. Thumbs up for that too.
Appreicate the feedback, Clyde!

Great work as always. Thank you for guidance.
You're welcome!
I like that you changed your mind and fixed it. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Love the drainage concept. Are there any issues with using the plastic lining causing moisture buildup that will harm the herbs? I know some will drain, but there will not be any air circulation.
Hello! What do you recommend to do for the air circulation? Can I drill holes on the walls maybe?
I like the idea of your drainage, I will adopt that next time.
Excellent idea for drainage, just what I was looking for! Thank you.
that's really cool.
God bless you, amazing job probably the best video I’ve seen to make one of these. You’ve explained everything very nicely not confusing whatsoever and with the water spout that just finishes up the job perfectly it’s like a work of art thank you again for your video.

Nice planter
Great build! Excellent video content and construction! I appreciate the free plans.
Happy June and Happy Fathers Day!
Great job Brad. Came out looking great. Really like the warm glow of the finish
Nicely done. What's the exact name of the mounting jig, you used at 4:37?
Wow.. The colour of the wood, It's really beautiful..
Maybe i will try to build one.
Love your tools. Great craftmanship. Seems like a lot of work though for a small return of planting a half dozen plants.
Well made!
Those chamfers make the piece. Amazing how such a small detail makes a piece.
It's all about the little details
Wow. It turned out beautiful.
Well now I have to build one! Great video.
Thank you!
Great video. Straight forward but well explained.
Impressive production and techniques, wow. This would be awesome filled with ice and a bunch of cold drinks sticking out!

Excellent description and camera angle. Thank you
Great! As always! I like the effect, that i actually do not need a planter Box, but in the way you Work it out, is much more Tipps and tricks for other things.......
Good to hear! Always trying to add a little value for you guys
So beautiful thanks for sharing
I like the PVC thing for drainage, such a smart idea!! Thanks for sharing : )
Super clean
Great design!
thank you!
Looks great thank you.
Exceptionally beautiful build! Question: I don't understand the fabric? It's under the plastic and how is it doing anything to block soil? I think it's to stop saturation around the four holes. Yet the holes are over the PVC?
What size chamfer bit are you using ? Thanks !
Tis the season for planter boxes..good stuff brad
Yep, just in time for the end of plant of season
that voicecrack at 0:19 love it
Really awesome
Thanks for the video. Would it be okay if I made it 8x4. Would it hold structurally. Or would I need to change the legs to 4x4 fir legs.
Your planter box is one of the nicest I've seen on TH-cam. And you have done an excellent job with this video. I will be making something like this, but am concerned about expansion and contraction with the sides and legs glued and screwed as you've done. How is your planter holding up?
Thank you for your time, this a great built Keep building...
Nice work Brad! And I like the new logo ;)

Hey, great video by the way. I also love your table saw set up. You wouldn't happen to have a video on how to build one of those do you?
Great build video! You’re explaining very well
Nice Job Brad

Fix This Build That Absolutely! This time I won’t do it in the comments where no one sees it
Fix This Build That Something happened during my checkout and I could not return to the checkout page to finalize getting the free plans for this project. Can you help with that please? Thanks.
I couldn’t get the plans either. Can you please send to me?
any advice on doing one of these for a sloped back yard? yard slopes down from left to right.
This is awesome!!
Thanks!
Very nice build, and I like the drainage solution you came up with, looks really good👍
Simple enough now to try and build it.
Great job in explaining each step. Thanks. 😉
Good luck! You've got this 💪
What a great project for the start of summer :-) Kudos! Love the channel.
Thanks, Kevin!
Wow excellent job well-done love it
Great job, well done
Great planter box! Only improvement I could make is to place the plastic sheeting on before placing the top edge on
Would be hard to screw in the pocket holes as the sheeting would cover them.
So awesome! You made that look easy lol but i will still attempt to build one! thank youuu for this!
I liked that . Chamfers make a nice piece great. I always route edges.... chamfers, round overs, beads... I think I'll make one. Thanks....
Love this design
Nice job
thanks!
Would you please attach a link for the little green plastic hardware mounting jig? I'm not finding anywhere. Thank you!
