So fun ! This just keeps getting better and better! I liked the Art Deco theme. I am a senior and my parents were older when I was born, so we have a lot of period furniture, china, knick knacks, and old letters from 1925-1926. My Father was a railway mail clerk in Union Station, DC, and sorted a lot of magazines. So I am illustrating the manuscript of the letters with his first wife, using images of period magazine covers which are so fun. Here is a quote from one of his letters which I think you will enjoy, written in the Railroad YMCA: March 22, 1926-- Flappers In The YMCA Say what do you know about that. There are all of a sudden about 5 flappers in the room. One has started on the piano. It has never happened before and I have my watch out and was about to take my pulse but I guess it would not be normal if I did. This is ordinarily a man's place and to have a lot of flappers to come in and take charge will bear investigation. 4 of them went into the library, but in passing I failed to see any I would trade you for so I will just keep on writing. One is about as tall as you are and a little heavier with a turned up nose. The one playing the piano is about like a greek and the others I can't see so well but one looks about like a girl I used to like a little who teaches school down below Pulaski. One is older and may be the Chaperone. ------------------------------------------ I am illustrating it with: Life Magazine cover "The Flapper" by Frank Xavier Leyendecker, 2 February, 1922 .
@@bluebird8224 I love that so much! All of it. Your collection & family history. Also the excerpt was wonderful. Thank you for sharing! Look forward to hearing updates about the letters! 😍
What another wonderful video! And in my 32 years on this planet, I have never in my life heard of a vegan meat lovers pizza! That low key intrigued me lol
I think for us, it would be sturgeon watching on the James River. The river on a good day is the place to be. Your video is so good at showing the quirky side of Richmond. Love it. Sending you Best Wishes for more fun stuff to watch. 😍😍 Jim and Harriet
The clothes you and Luke have got on i love and the Ford Model T cars as well. I know i've not seen the great gatsby before but with a reenactment of a period drama it's something that you see out of Downton Abbey. The Charleston Dance i seen off a 4 part episode of Doctor Who called "Black Orchid", but one day i'd love to try the Charleston
@@ElliotDeakin I agree! I need to try to learn the Charleston for next year!! It would be so fun. Have you watched the newest season of Doctor Who? How does it compare?
Another great video - I’m learning so much about my hometown! Still love your Richmond enthusiasm! Oh, and I can’t wait for Vlogtober! I think I’m hooked on this channel…and I’m not even vegan and I don’t drink!! Ha! 😂
Which unique event would you go to?🎉👇
Go to bygones for more period specific fits
