I have DAO UE (Steam) on my external hard drive. It does put some things in my Docs on my Windows drive, of course. I am aware of that, but I do what I can to save space. I also want to have mods and normally (and have in the past successfully) used NexusMods/Vortex to install and manage them. After a long break, I reinstalled everything again, the way I'd had it years ago, and it no longer worked. I found that my initial installation a week ago of the 4gh patch was essential, but I never could get the mods to work with either the older modmanager nor Vortex. I even tried uninstalling everything and then reinstalling it and decided to follow a video for advice, just to make sure. But now I'm stuck at the 4gb patch. Every time I try to install it, it says it was successful, but I am unable to open the game. When I try to open it from Steam, it gives me error code 51 and never opens the game beyond the initial screen where you can choose to start the game or fiddle with the settings, etc. (the launcher, I believe it is). So I verify the integrity of the installed files so that Steam can reinstall the original execute (I tried just saving and using a copy of the original file, but that wasn't working). I've done this at least five times now, to no avail. (Note: When I try to open the game from the patched execute directly from the location on my external hard drive, the error is "Application load error 3:0000065432") Does anybody have any good (helpful, useful, related-to-this-issue, friendly, please :p ) advice?
Have you tried deleting the game folders and reinstalling the game? Verifying the integrity is not useful when the files have been modded in my experience. Hope it works out, peace.
So do I get it right that I have to install the dazip mods with the mod manager and the other mods with the copy paste method? So I have to use both methods? Or to ask in a different way.....When I would copy paste dazip mods into the override folder, they would not work right? Thanks in advance! I am a beginner and normally use Vortex.
With the mod manager I noticed it has its own override file and there is some mods I want that does not seem to friendly to the mod manager, would I just drop those on the override folder inside the mod manager over the core?
so once i patched the game with the 4gn patch it should work right? because mine crashes when i try and configure it and no one can help me they just keep recommending me to modding videos
4GB patch and some mods must be installed manually so no, you can't make a single mod file that contains everything. It's mostly copy-paste work anyways, you'll get used to in a short time.
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful and informative. Just what I needed to finally get into modding myself.

Thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to install the 4gb patch for a while! Much thanks and best of luck my friend!
Unfortunately it does not seem to have these options for the Ultimate edition on steam :(
I’m also using ultimate edition Steam version and modding it without any problems.
why is it when I put an "override" mod in my folder, it doesnt show under the "installed Overrides" section in the mod manager?
I have trouble now starting the game...(Error Code 51)

Yes, you have to use both metods. Dazip format can only be installed with mod manager.
thank you for the video, only one question - where do i put daomodmanager? in what file i mean
It’s just the program so you can put it anywhere you like.
With the mod manager I noticed it has its own override file and there is some mods I want that does not seem to friendly to the mod manager, would I just drop those on the override folder inside the mod manager over the core?
Mm never tried it myself but might work.
thanks for the video

We don’t know the reason of your crash. 4gb patch may or may not fix it.
@@wollnirfgc I patched it with the 4gb patch but it still crashes on configuration.
@@sleepyzzz7055too many mods?
couldnt yall just make a simple mod for this instead of having us go through step by step cause its just confusing my brain and making me lose my mind
