if i was religious, i'd be praising the gospels of WLToys. i bought one of their first FPV drones back in 2014 or somethin crazy. and a boat before that. LCRacing should keep a closer eye on these folks.
I’ve had the brushed one for over a year and it’s great fun. My advice (applies to the brushless too) is don’t bother with the metal / cnc ‘upgraded’ parts. Just leave it alone, with perhaps the exception of the rear hinge pin / swing arm bracket. Yeah the shock towers might bend a bit after a tumble but they are cheap and easy to replace. Once you fit the stronger ones all you end up with if the plastic diff casing being ripped apart. So upgrade that to metal too? Nope! Because the metal diff casings are total junk. The bearings don’t fit snugly and the diff gears rattle around. the rear hinge pin bracket gets bent easily if the rear wheels take a hit then the pin falls out, so upgrading that is a good move and doesn’t seem to cause anything else to fail.
Many thanks for the detailed advice on this car 👍 👍 super impressed with it for the price, loving the WLtoys cars we have obtained, bang for their buck cant be beaten
Them WLtoys buggies are some nice little rigs. I have the brushed version of 3 of them converted 2 of them to brushles and enjoy them very much in smaller areas.
@@HardcoreRC I only have 5 RCs as of right now. I have the WideMaxx V2,Rustler 2wd VXL,RedCat Volcano XTE Pro,RedCat Blackout XBE Pro and The WLToys 124017 V2. Hello, I'm from Russia, we don't have a video about this car on TH-cam. Do you know if it is possible to put electronics and a motor from it on wltoys 144001 and do you need to change the control panel?
40mph not bad for a little car out the box, ok its not the advertised 75kph, but not far short of cars like the Arrma 3s range and the Rival MT10 and for a little car its got all the speed it needs. Will try it on 3s once i find a lipo the right size 😂😂
Thanks, we try to give any new car we get a fair but hard test, we like to bash hard so need to see what a car can take 😂 this little car certainly impressed us
Thanks - we tried our best to break it in a fair way, really though one jump off the big ramp it would be toast, but it just kept taking it - very impressed
I’ve still yet to pull the trigger on one of these cheaper brushless rc’s. This one definitely takes a beating and for what you get you can’t go wrong. Disappointed in the range but that was hard to tell how fast away it was. For me biggest thing is part supply. I love being able to drive 15 minutes and buy parts for all of my RC’s. That wouldn’t be the case with this. Great bash session guys 👊👊👍👍
They are great little buggies for the price, parts supply would have to be via the mail though, but normally ebay has most of the parts in stock in the UK so dont have to go to China and wait.
@@HardcoreRC well that's great about eBay for sure. I never thought about eBay for parts for these cheaper RC cars but that should parts easier to get here as well. 👊👊👍👍
@@HardcoreRC idk. John Robinson channel showed it right out of the box and it was slower than his stock brushed 124019. I forget the other channels names I saw. But on 3s it came to life.

I was amazed it kept taking the big boys jump, really thought it would be one jump off that and dead. It lasted longer than the TLR 😂😂

If you put a hole (the size of the wire) in the body then have the antenna sticking out the range does improve. Good testing.
Ok thanks we will give that a go 👍
@@HardcoreRC just keep in mind that these have the three wire servo so it's really easy to swap out receivers on them out of the box.
I have to say I thought that thing was going to bite the dust a lot sooner I’m impressed how well it held up

I find putting the lipo under both parts of the strap works a little better ,rather than sandwiched between them
Thanks, will give that a try, might also try to remove that little notch and see if it will sit down better
This reminds me that I must get my 144001 repaired. Great little cars!
Glad i reminded you 😂😂 they really have impressed us
I have the wltoys 140001 that I made brushless and it is deffently a tank, lots of fun and a good little basher buggy

This is our second one, and they have both impressed us, bang for your buck they really are good. Might make this into a speed run car, not sure yet
Have you got the V2 yet?
We haven't as our one didnt really suffer bad from the cogging issues, and its certainly not stopped us having fun with this car

Great budgets choice for first car! Great footage and that thing jumps pretty decent too!
Agreed, these are great little budget RC's and a great starting car
The battery comes out with the brushed one aswell. It's the only thing that's a problem for me
Dont have the issue with the other one we have due to it having caged body, needs a side strap or something
What is the range on that thing?
And could you increase the range or no?
Range is about 150m - yes you can increase the range by putting a different receiver in
@@HardcoreRC Appreciate it 👍
