The father didn't crash the planes on purpose... he didn't have the mental facility to do his job because of the emotional trauma of losing his daughter, froze when he became overwhelmed with the data. The consequences lead directly back to Walter and his culpability, blame. It was symbolic that the planes crashed directly over his house... his actions came home to roost.

The season ends with an empty house surrounded by wreckage and death.
None of what we see is coincidence, or accidental. Every piece of information is there for a reason.

Very well summed up. It's symbolic of the flow on effects we tend to not consider. Same deal with the trap house section in this episode. Walter is finally seeing the effect of his actions, directly.

The reason Walter hates the "dinging" sound is his pride. He squeaked by in life. Always struggled to make ends meet. He finally found a way to provide for his family, but didn't get the credit. He was bringing in tons of money, but credit is going to strangers. He wants everyone to know that HE is bringing in the money, but obviously, he can't do that.

Interesting tidbit about the character of Mike:
The writers of Breaking Bad created the character of Mike Ehrmantraut as a substitute for Saul Goodman, when actor Bob Odenkirk was unavailable for the second season finale "ABQ" because of a previous commitment.

Originally Saul was supposed to be in the scene at the start with Jessi cleaning the place up and telling him what to say. But the actor had a commitment he couldn't get out of so, the Character of Mike was created at the last minute. The actor that plays Mike (Johnathan Banks) got the part because he slapped Jessi in the audition even though it wasn't in the script and Vince Gillian liked it although Aaron Paul (Jessie) wasn't too happy about being slapped out of the blue lol.

I probably OD’d on it and missed a lot so I’m so glad to be taking a ride with you guys.💚✌

Gus , Keep friends close, and your enemies closer. A friendly face to law enforcement.
As for the donations and Walters anger, again his ego. He made the money, he took the risks, he got stuck in the desert etc.. And he gets none of the credit for saving himself.. All about his ego which only continues to grow.

It’s amazing how the only reason Mike even exists is due to Bob Odenkirk having to do How I Met Your Mother and so scheduling conflicts had them having to replace Saul with Mike, who will be very important for the last three seasons and Better Call Saul. Great reactions guys and have a great weekend!

Let's talk acting in this episode. Aaron Paul, obviously, such a moving performance. Without a doubt...
But, I would like to mention Jane's father's performance.
When he first sees the ambulance, in his eyes he knew and we knew. His heartbreak and helplessness when watching them move her body. And yes, the final moments before the crash, the sweat, the confusion. All conveyed through only his face and eyes.
And this actor appeared in, what 2 maybe 3 episodes. Great casting...

You both figure out much on it, but if didn't, remember Saul said to Walter about getting another one to buy his blue, Saul said he knows someone that knows someone...he was talking about Mike, the one that saved Jesse in house. You'll see more of Mike after this, and when you finish this series, and watch pre-series Better Caul Saul, you'll see how Saul first meets Mike, and how Mike first meets Gus! It's why both series are in the top 10 best series ever, meaning Saul, this is tp 5!

    • @mrtveye6682
      @mrtveye6682 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@stevenallen500 Right. And it's not unlikely she really had herself and Jessie killed "within a week" with that amount of money at hands. Nobody can seriously believe they would have stopped with heroin after "that last one night". Hell, she was clean for 18 months and chose to start again without even having a real reason. And she talked Jessie into using it, when he originally wanted her to go before0 taking meth. Walter wouldn't even left the house that evening if it wasn't for her blackmailing him.
Ofc letting her die was a big turning point for Walter to the dark side. And there is no excuse for such behaviour. But still it was what he believed to safe Jessie. Because he had that talk with Janes dad and got this "never give up on family" thought in his head. And he considered Jessie family.
He takes way to much blame for that (!) incident. He was one piece of the puzzle. Janes herself was another big piece, as was her dad and the people at ATC that let him start work again. And that's what makes the show so great. It's never that simple. Great writing.
