It's crazy that Hank the drug kingpin was trying to frame this honest business man.
He framed an honest fast food owner and forced his brother in law to cook the product. What a monster

buh buh he ki killed uncle Hank
Well why does he need to mention Pinochet is a baddie? Has no relevance at all almost as if DEA is then obliged to turn around once they hear key words human rights abuses. If he was honest he wouldn't need to have mention that.
Gus is so polite, especially to Hank. No wonder he gave him a free meal pass. He's a great supporter of the DEA. I'm glad they cleared this misunderstanding.

Gus is just genuinely a stand up guy. The kind of hard working, entrepreneurial, ethical immigrant this country needs.
You can tell Gus came prepared for every question thrown at him, had everything covered. Except with that last question, which caught him off guard. He did some good improvising blaming Pinochet
The momentary, unnatural calm as he processes what it means and how a normal person would respond is just golden.
I wouldn't be surprise if he as well was part of the government with a high ranking position and escaped to Mexico after it was overthrown.
I think he did plan that when he made his new identity.
But the question was still quite dangerous.

“i’m sure if you keep digging you’ll find me”. I’m not sure if i’m reaching but that seemed like a subtle threat to hank, that if he keeps digging in finding out more about he’ll find out who he really is, someone who will kill to make sure his business stays afloat.
It was definitely a veiled threat, but nobody caught on to it. Hank might’ve realized in retrospect once it got out who Gus actually was.

this is how Gus realized he messed up warning Hank about the twins because not only he’s onto him he knows more than enough to bring his entire empire down if he looks even deeper
But Gus wanted his enemies to eliminate each other so if he hadn’t warned Hank he’d still have the twins to worry about.
It was a threat hidden in plain sight that he made sound innocent. He didn’t mess up. “I’m sure if you keep digging you’ll find me” is a classic Fring threat.
Did you know that Breaking Bad is niche and unknown?
Gus may have wanted the twins to be killed by any backup Hank called. Hank really should have died. If Marco hadn't decided to fetch the axe, Hank wouldn't have had a chance to load that loose bullet.
I don't think he considered it a mistake. He's just acting surprised like a normal person would. He already had Mike check if he could find any records on his past and Gus had good reasons for sabotaging the hit on Hank
This is the moment Gus Fring accused the Chilean Government of a great many sins
First and foremost its human rights abuses.

Chicken man just barely scraped by with that possibly faked calendar entry. Not even sure if there was anything written down lol.
I think it was real - he knows they will verify it, and he probably goes to a lot of fundraisers not just to reinforce his public persona but also to give himself lots of alibis.
He probably wasn’t lying, considering he was going to have Walter killed it wouldn’t surprise me if he was creating an alibi for that event, just in case if it had ever somehow come out
The real luck Gus had here is that Hank didnt suspect him enough to hand him a subpoena to hand over his restaurants CCTV footage the day he supposedly met Gale. That wouldve ended him
@@SuryaGupta-te7fq It wouldn't have...At first walt was supposed to meet him there, so logically we can conclude Gus does conduct "business meetings" at his restaurants...Gale might have been there for a completely different meeting, and Gus just used that coz he does have the footage to prove that Gale "ran into" him. And gale was at the restaurant at some point coz he had that napkin which led to the interrogation in the first place
Gus was never actually present during the events, it was Mike’s job to actually finish off Walter. Being at a verifiable public event is a fantastic alabi

Honestly they did not have enough to call Gus in for this interview. Fingerprints only establish a connection. The correct move would have been to start surveilling him.
He was a good friend of the DEA. They probably overlooked protocol because of his connection with them and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake
3:26 I love that for just a moment right before giving a very genuine and well acted reaction, Gus gives Hank the death stare.
Los Polos Hermanos has a strict "No drug policy" , no wonder Gus supports the DEA so much , a true good Samaritan trying his best to keep his community drug free
The thing about this scene is that in real life, when Gus said "I ran into Gale at the restaurant", the cops would have asked him which restaurant and what day. Then they would have pulled up all the surveillance footage from that restaurant, and found out Gus was lying.
The cops were not really suspicious of him due to personal bias, the meeting was just a formality to clear up the reason why his fingerprints were found. Only Hank genuinely suspected him
@@joseluis5055 That's true, but like you say Hank was suspicious even after all that, and was perfectly capable of pursuing that line himself.
@@Hankblue Except Hank was already on a fishing expedition. And there would be no basis to compel Gus to hand over surveillance tapes.
@@henrypeters5291 This is just getting silly 😄 Fishing trips don't prevent people from pursuing obvious steps in an investigation, and there would be no need to compel him, either he cooperates like he did here or it leads to the same result of him looking suspicious.
Gus probably doesn't have surveillance in his own restaurant, or likely anywhere else. And they likely didn't feel it was a lead worth pursuing nonetheless.
If he did have surveillance, he'd probably have edited it to show him there. He came prepared to this meeting, remember.
