"The Howling"(1981) is an excellent and very atmospheric horror movie! This is one of the 5 best Werewolf horror movies of all time for sure!

I loved the howling, the that transformation scene is my favorite of all werewolf turn scenes, done with no CGI, only good props and make up. And the ending was so sad, I've cried to it seeing her pain.

Dee Wallace and Christopher Stone NEVER divorced, he DIED in 1995. In some of her movies you can see photographs of both of them together even as resent as 2005 in "Headspace." He died suddenly of a heart attack which is weird because he was always in good shape, healthy

I've always liked The Howling more than An American Werewolf in London-----and I *love* the latter. It just goes to show how good The Howling *really* is. I like the Werewolf more in The Howling. It looks more like a classic wolfman (as opposed to a glorified dog). However, nothing will *ever* beat the transformation scene in An American Werewolf in London. It's a damn shame that Universal didn't allot the time required for Rick Baker to incorporate a non-CGI transformation in 2010's Wolfman. However, for a CGI transformation, it was *really* good. That movie gets a bad rap all around. I thought it was epic and just an all-around solid homage to classic horror films.

An interesting fact about one of the sequels that ties into Minty's info regarding how The Howling strays far from the original novels:
Howling IV: The Original Nightmare(while not very good at all imo) is actually a "reboot" of the original movie. Unlike the original though, it stays very true to the story and events of the first 'The Howling' novel by Gary Brandner.
Also, as far as Brandner's novels go, there is a trilogy of them. If you're a fan of the movie they are a pretty cool read as the first 2 novels continue the story from the movie. The big difference being that Roy(Bill in the movie) and Marcia are still alive and together, and are trying to hunt down Karen. The 3rd book is a different set of characters, but still tie in to the original town of Drago(The Colony in the movie) where Karen and the other main characters started the story off. Very good books(Minty is right though, they are DARK) so check them out if you get the chance(if you can find the illustrated versions get those as the artwork in them is really cool).

Exactly it was horrible because they really loved each other and worked hard to have their daughter. Sadly Dee and their daughter had been out that day and found him when they returned home. They were a very happy solid couple from what I remember cause they worked together on a Lassie series too for several years in the early 90’s.

I don't know how the heck you find most of this trivia but it's wicked. I've never even heard of the Howling and you even featured two more cool looking films as a bonus, Knightriders, Going Ape, Raising Cain, bloody hell, you spoil everyone, I'll definitely give these a watch sometime too, adding them to the very big list I still got from your other videos.
Something about this one that just feels more chilled than a lot of your past videos, probably the music. I love Kim Wilde's tunes.
Oh yeah and about 9:35 I had no idea Christopher Stone was in the Howling, small World =P
It would be so cool if you kept the Werewolf ball rolling and do a video about Silver Bullet sometime, another good Werewolf film I really recommend.
