Pioneer DDJ-XP1 Controller, Connected To The CDJ-2000NXS2 Decks Only & (How They Function Together)

This is my how to guide on how the units function together!, I demonstrate how the units work with each other and explain what can and canot be used with the unit as it is. To fully make use of the New DDJ-XP1 Controller, it must be used within Recordbox DJ, along with a USB DJ Controller Or a USB enabled DJM Mixer.
I have realised as to why i cant get all the pads working on the Controller and that is because, i have the decks connected to 1+3 Channels on the Mixer and not 1+4 as the pad section is utilised to channels (1+3) & (2+4) for each of the 16 pads on the unit. So changing from the 3rd Channel into the 4th one should allow the full controller pads. Sorry for the mess up...
Anyways, I hope that this information and guide is somehow usefull

Basically you would be able to control 4 decks on the XP1/2, you have one CDJ setup as deck 1, and the other setup as deck 3... you can assign the decks on the CDJ, if you was using a DJM2000 and using the built in network hub and it was auto select deck on the CDJ, you wouldnt have this issue. if you have a djm900Nxs2 you would have to manually select. Player numbering is key here - hold the menu button on the CDJ and change player numbers to correspond with the numbering either side of XP1 - Left pads 1 or 3, right pads 2 or 4 - then the shift key is used to switch between those pairs. FYI - Int means internal - which is a mode used with DVS, bears no relevance when using CDJs in this mode.

Hello, I'm driving with the cdj2000 controller, the problem I have is when I activate the rekordbox samples it doesn't sound, do I need the DDJ-XP1 to be able to do it?

Try setting it up properly!!!!! ...... just like the SP1 you can assign which deck on the XP1 controls which physically player by selecting the USB on the deck it is plugged into and changing the settings, then you can use both sides of the XP1

I'm very disappointed with how this works externally. I don't understand why they didn't just give you the left side for the left deck, and right side for the right deck.

After using it for a while now, I to feel slightly let down by what it can do just connected straight to the Decks!, although it's made to be used with Recordbox function to utilize it's full potential. Anyways all the best man :D

i didnt even read the comments and i was like pioneer is smarter than to make all those pads and make where you can only use one deck at a time one page at a time

Clearkutz where I was new to using a trigger pad, I didn't realise I could change the settings on the deck at the time. Since I now have it set up correctly I am loving this unit, even for its basic functions whilst I wait to get a DJM Mixer from Pioneer DJ. Anyways we keep learning and progress everyday... have a great week 😊
