You know how many people who bought the SRT-1000 who are salivating over this. Pioneer continues to pimp everyone. They could have easily made the SRT-1000 to be identical to the Rekordbox version but instead they charge more for the Serato version and add insult to injury by coming out with this.
Interesting. Before I sold my set, I had the sp1 mapped to traktor. I loved that combo. I'm looking now to get the denon mc4000 and the mc7000. Right now I'm just messing with a hercules inpulse 200, which I also mapped to traktor 3. So during this time, I was thinking of upgrading to the xp1, but I read a comment advising against that because the xp1 did not have the fx control knobs. I agreed, since I used these knobs often. Now I see that the xp2 doesn't have fx control knobs either. Think I'll stick to getting a used xp1 again.
I use a 2012 Macbook Pro which has two USB ports. I plug my controller on the left and external HD on the right. Question is will this run through a powered USB Hub? Thanks in Advance.
Thanks for the answer Phil, guess I have to keep patiently waiting for an add-on or perhaps new CDJ player that offers controller functionality! I loved the xp-1 when I was still playing with a controller and I've missed it ever since I started playing without a laptop.
@@digitaldjtips DJS 1000 media players have what XP1 has already , same 16 RGB pads , Loops everything plus more , but the price out weighs the product unfortunately , but if I'm pioneer I would be thinking about XP2 FX unit standalone with LCD or Oled multi touch that posts return effects sync up to Nexus djm mixers
Hi Mr. Digital DJ Tips, thank u for ur Work!! I'M A FAN! What would you recommend buying/investing on between: The Pioneer DDJ-SZ2..the 1900$ one vs. DDJ-1000SRT with DDJ-XP (these together i.e. 1200+300) ....Which do I get more in terms of usage function features etc. (Would you recommend either one to a beginner who wants to get in DJ long term?) Thanks
Full Rekordbox, nothing for Serato though - you'll need to buy Serato DJ Pro and DVS if you want to use it as part of a DVS set-up, plus Pitch 'n Time if you want to properly use the key mixing features.
It's silly decision and complete miss use of plastic today , these tech companies should start getting their plastic use in order , world has so much in electronics , there was no need to do this as the xp1 would work with Serato DJ pro fine with updated xml mapping, the only hard work here was the Led pads to work in Serato DJ
So in other words.. Spend all that money for the SRT that only controls half of Serato & then you have to buy this "accessory" to unlock the rest of features in Serato..? Come on man... Its all about MAKING MONEY people, see though all the smoke & mirrors.
It's definitely one way of looking at it, but another is that if you use DVS, these are precisely the controls you need in addition to a mixer and decks.
The SFX control stills garbage for the rekordbox. At least they did really nice for serato. I have a xp1, it sucks and i dont wanna a new xp2. If you want to buy that unity for serato dvs (replacing the sp1) its a really great choice, for rekordbox (initial target) it simply does not fit. It is nice for playing using only laptop+mixer+xp2 on both softwares, if you do not care about sfx on rekordbox.
@@digitaldjtips Gerrit M. has a good point actually. To your knowledge, if someone is interested purely in Rekordbox DJ and is not into DVS is there a reason to consider the XP2 over the previous version? Cheers

I can see Akai dropping a Afx 2 unit in distant future now or reloop neon 2

Yes should be fine through a powered hub.
As a rekordbox user should I buy the xp1 and save some cash?
Probably, yes.
How amazing would it be if Pioneer made the DDJ-1000 just work with Rekordbox AND Serato!
Maybe when they bring out the Mark II version.
Hopefully this marks a change of tack and future controllers just might work with both?
Thanks for the answer Phil, guess I have to keep patiently waiting for an add-on or perhaps new CDJ player that offers controller functionality! I loved the xp-1 when I was still playing with a controller and I've missed it ever since I started playing without a laptop.
I suspect the next-gen Nexus players will have that kind of thing on them when they drop - I'd hold out patiently for those!

Hi would this be a good addition to the flx10 and would it work well with it ? would it be worth the extra spends on the xp2 as I have a flx10
If you feel you want the extra buttons, sure. FLX10 already has quite a lot of control though.
Lots of questions. First. Can I 'midi map' the buttons on the XP2 to do something else, or are they FIXED.
how do you even load the sample drums on this thing?
Serato have a video here showing you how to use the Sampler: th-cam.com/video/pSaIYbK64jE/w-d-xo.html
would using this with rekordbox allow for multiple effects per channel then? asking as a ddj 400 user
Thanks but Ima stick with the Nexus 2. Great video
Thanks DJ Miguel :)

Will you get post fader fx when using a Denon ds1 or does that depend on what mixer you use?
Does this work with vdj
Should do
Can you midi map it for Serato dj stem
Don't see why not
@@digitaldjtips i havent figured out how 🤦🏾♂️
Hello. Will this work with djay pro2? Thanks
No it won't :)
Can I use this with my rane SL2 box ?
Yes, you should be able to use the SL2 as an audio interface.
How about controls for Flip mode?
hey guys wad up i,am a numark pro two user do i need something like this can it work properly with it
Numark Pro 2? You mean Mixtrack Pro 2? It will work fine without it, although this will add more functionality for you.
Nice! Can you use the XP2 mapping on the XP1 for Serato?
I have feeling that might happen
@@FSwiftDJ I hope so! Or else there is probably going to be a lot of XP1's for sale..
Don't see why not actually, interesting to find out the answer to this.
@@digitaldjtips so virtual Dj has the mapping for the XP1 but the LED pads light up super random and weird.. 🙈

Should be out now.
What dj stand is the exp2 on?
It's a little Reloop one, but in truth, it's a bit too small for the job.
What kind of stand is he using for the XP2
It's from Reloop, it's for their Neon and is actually a bit small for the XP2.

Googling, and can't find it for sale???
It was launched 40 minutes before this broadcast, give them a chance! :)
XP1 in Germany 200€. XP2 330 €.
Hardware is 99,9% the same.
So i would pay 130 Dollar for a build in Mapping?
Don’t really get this product.
