I wish one time i could manicure a lawn like this!!! If all my accounts were this type of lawn and level it would amazing doing what i love everyday. All we have is bermuda and st Augustine in south ga.

I know folks on here that have this turf are like what is the big deal? But turf down here dont stripe the way yalls does it just amazes me.
I was going back and forth between the Scag 30 and the Toro Timemaster. Ended up getting the Toro cause I can almost buy two for the price of one Scag 30
So i am a SCAG fan and have two Vride2 mowers. This just seems like a very heavy and expensive push mower. I bought the Honda HRX and had it for a short time before downgrading back to a basic push mower. My push mowers are Craftsman from the big box store and pretty much disposable after three or four years. Sometimes I get crazy and put a Toro roller on the back and stripe the mess out of my .22 acres. Love the Cats Eye Gold but was never sold on this. Keep up the great content Pete!!
Just think Pete, Scag's coming out with a front swivel wheels model for 2022, in fact, they're also providing a swivel wheel kit for people who already bought your model.

What’s the verdict with this mower? I’ve been using a Honda HRX 21” and I’d like to upgrade to a 30” deck. I’ve been considering this mower but have heard mixed reviews. What is your review ?
Pete, great video! Do you recommend this mower for a 1/2 acre lot? Non commercial use, homeowner lawn. Looking for a good mower, with exceptional cut. I live in Michigan. My turf is tall fescue
Might be a bit big for a half acre lot but it would definitely cut the time to about nothing! Most half acre lots have roughly 5-8000 square feet of turf so you're in the perfect 21-24" mower deck range. I have a Scag 30 but I'm cutting 17,000 square feet. Great mower but maybe unnecessary for you. At that size you can also look into battery operated mowers. Something like an Ego 21" self propelled would be awesome. They have plenty of power and it makes life A LOT easier. My parents have 6500 square feet and the Ego 21". Takes 35-40 minutes to cut so well within the battery life. I love it. If I had a yard where I could use one battery charge to cut all of it I would 100% buy that mower. If you mean you have a half acre of turf, the Scag 30 would be perfect.
Pete what is the retail on one of those, and would you be interested in selling you used equipment to us? (You got the website, and can figure out shipping.)We know you take very good care of your equipment and are always upgrading. Really want a 30+ in push mower just want to buy a used one for a bit off retail.
pete I have a lawn care biz and have 2 exmark 30's as part of my equipment package. You feel that the scag is a better quality mower? Ive had problems with the engagement pullies, transmissions, and loose belts WAY too often. Been contemplating this mower as a replacement.
@@cneagle87 I can only compare it to the exmark 30 because that’s the only other 30 I’ve had. I think the scag is a little heavier than the exmark. But I also think it handles better than the exmark. I have not used the scag on a hill or slope so I can not speak to that.

Mow about 10k sq ft, currently using Honda HRX 217HYA 200cc with hydrostatic transmission. I added a beverage cup holder and battery powered fan. Prefer a larger mower.
DIY is correct. The 2022 model has a removal deck flap that GCI is not liking. The 2022 model also comes standard with front caster wheels. I'm considering this mower. I'm just a DIY myself and I do not own a commercial business. I'm just wanting quality tools and a quality cut.

@@GCITurf I of course, expect the color to drain as the temp increases.. above 85° avg. will see a major increase in the white blades. We assume 1” of weekly irrigation. My exmark 30” is now near 5 years, so, that skag 30” is mighty tempting.. Thrilled for the response.. Thank you,

Wish I had a nice lawn mower, mine is lame it won’t even mulch properly, even though it’s a mulching lawn mower and I mow every 3 days.

Yes I do. I’ve owned maybe 7-8 exmark 30” and this scag is a much better machine in my opinion

Yes it does sound strange on camera. I noticed that as well. In person it sounds normal.

Simply to try something different. That’s the only reason. 4” is a great HOC for fescue
