As an investing enthusiast, I've kept aside a good sum of capital to invest for financial independence and early retirement, but my concern right now is the market rally being propaganda. Is this a good time to buy stocks, or do I wait for the crash?
The stock market can appear as a bewildering cauldron of fake news for new investors. I would advise using a CFP, giving him/her 2/3, and then investing the 1/3 on your own, but only if you have time to track stocks and educate yourself.

Hi Aaron, Great job on your video on retiring early! Your videos are inspirational. I feel you could integrate some side hustles such as Grabfood Delivery (since you like to cycle) . You could do some delivery on the way home and etc or whenever you’re bored on weekends. This could save you even more money in reaching your retirement plan even earlier & it is kinda like a cardio workout. Every cent & dollar count!
Hi can i just check the dividends do uou have to manually invest them back in? Or does SG provide any platforms that automatically reinvest them back for you. Thanks
Hey Aaron, thanks for sharing your portfolio. May I know which brokerage are you using for your SG stocks and US stocks, and the reason for choosing them instead of their many alternatives?
Cos his pay is crazy high if it wasn't apparent enough. He has 200k in total stocks at 26 as a guy, which makes his working years even lesser than a female, and he clearly isn't doing any crazy shit to be getting those kinds of returns from his stock portfolio (assuming everything is laid bare here). I'm guessing he transferred some of that OA into SA.
hmmm i dont think my pay is crazy high? its abit higher than fresh IT grads in 2023 cos ive been working for 2+ years alr. And yup i transferred some OA into SA :)
@@AaronSurvivinginSingapore i see. Well to be fair IT grads are already above average. I'd say your starting salary is already at or near the median 30s salary. Anyway love the content. Thanks for sharing.
really good content!! thanks for sharing, frm your previous video, you mentioned in your comments that you used POEMs to hold stocks, bt isnt the comm fees high?? im asking cos im contemplating between POEMs and FSMOne, would like to hear some opinions on either of the choices to make a decision. would you mind creating a video on how you chose your selected brokerage account also??? thanks in advance!!
Hey man, i stumbled upon your video and just wanted to say thank you for sharing it! Im a 22M and have been thinking about starting to invest into either US ETFs or SG dividend stocks for a few years now but i just never started due to fear. Seeing a fellow singaporean in his 20s do it is giving me the confidence to start as well. Can I ask which broker are you using to buy your stocks and why?
Haha cool!! Im using poems cos my parents helped me sign up when i was 18 😁 if youre fearful, then just dca into us ETFs! Dividends is so you dont have to liquidate your stocks.
Hi, currently 26 (almost 27) with about ~150k in US stocks and living like a hermit too (albeit with a little necessary spending for some quality time with the gf). Glad to see like minded peeps out there too! Side note, would you have rather invested everything in US stocks from the start, before switching to SG divident stocks after instead of the opposite?
oh wow chanced upon your channel by accident! All the best! Fellow sporean running a small portfolio too.. but im focused on capital growth in USA market on my channel!
Its ok. You made wise financial decision. Continue to make wise relationship decision as well. 👍👍 A terrible relationship can cause more loss than market crash 😂

Hi 5 to a fellow POEMS client!!!
just curious but wouldnt the dividends you get from US etfs/stocks such as VGT be taxed 30%?
Yea so they are mainly just for capital growth. Dividends r just a small bonus
