      I live off dividends on ETFs, for sure it can improve your wealth if you reinvest them to buy more shares, creating a snowball effect that allows your investments to compound over time. It's one of the most passive and effective ways to build an income stream. well managed steady growth for me.

      I am so big on stocks and it has worked well for me, but I also like to have a well balanced, low-cost set of ETFs that keeps the money in my pocket. How can I maintain an effective ETFs approach returns on the long run?

      Have you considered the possibility of cashing out some of those dividends for paying off your monthly expenses, instead of re-investing them? Bcos I need a lot as rent, inflation alone eat up almost all of what I make.

      tbh I keep compounding, adhering to well established patterns from a professional, even as a rookie, can bring tremendous value! I’ve trimmed, added also and now my average growth has increased in the past year while participating behind a top performer. I put in 35k, now effectively remits over hundred k annually and increasing.

    Good recommendation. These ETFs are no-brainer for long-term investing. My positions in QQQ ( and VGT), VOO, and SCHD plus a few Magnificent Seven stocks for the last 15 years doing very well. Better then I deserved. It crosses 8-figure last year to allow me to retire this year.

    Hi Ziet, I watched your video and started buying ETF like QQQM. Just want to understand what's the huge impact between SPLG and VOO. Both are all following the same index. SPLG is much cheaper and less fee, 0.02%. compared to VOO. In case that I have enough funds to invest and spend the same amount, which is better option - either buying more stocks of SPLG and same value but less numbers of VOO? Look forward to your answer :)

    Question-with the WHT imposed, how long would we have to hold stocks or minimum return of investments to outweigh the WHT in US say 30%?

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there!The impact of the 30% WHT on your investments can vary based on several factors like the dividend yield of the stock, the change in the stock's price, and your investment duration/entry/exit price.
      In general, to outweigh the WHT, your investment needs to generate returns higher than the WHT paid, as well as the fees incurred for the transaction (note: commission fees/trade for US and LSE market is different).
      I've made a video comparing this exact scenario (VOO vs CSPX), can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/zwpJIP1aNFI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RZp_GwltyjOWioEF

    • @ZietInvests

      Hello, index funds as mentioned by most US youtubers refer to their Mutual Funds, but since most of us are from non-US countries, we can only access those funds via ETFs (exchange traded funds). That means we can just focus on ETFs, that tracks many things like Index, Industry, country etc. Hope this clarifies!

      Both are alright! M+Global for the ease of funding using MYR, IBKR gives cheaper fees, but it requires one more step using WISE (look up for tutorial in my video!), it depends which one is more important for you - fees or easy deposit?
      That being said, if you are to choose M+Global, there's a promotion going on until end of November where you can deposit RM 1000 and get free GRAB shares lolll, but you need to access via my link 🤭

    sorry noob question. There is an option when funding IBKR for US ETF purchase, to select which currency u want to deposit. If i plan to transfer from WISE balance, is there any difference if I were to choose USD or SGD? Thanks

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, no worries at all! There's no such thing as a noob question here, we're all learning together!
      When you're transferring funds to IBKR for purchasing US ETFs, the currency you choose for the deposit can make a difference: If you select USD, you'll be transferring US dollars directly into your account. This is generally straightforward if your WISE balance is already in USD because it avoids any conversion fees or exchange rate fluctuations.
      On the other hand, if you choose to deposit in SGD and your WISE balance is in SGD, you won't need to convert it before sending. However, you will need to convert your SGD to USD within the IBKR platform to purchase US ETFs, as they are denominated in USD. This conversion within IBKR is usually at a very competitive rate, but it's still an extra step and potentially a small fee.
      So... the main difference is where the currency conversion happens (before the transfer with WISE or after the transfer within IBKR) and the respective rates and fees! For most of us from Malaysia (MYR), the difference between sending USD or SGD has very marginal difference because we're gonna convert anyway!
      Hope this clarifies ;)

      There are ETFs ranging from all risk levels, but in general yes, because they are wayyy diversified as compared to an individual stock.
      For your case, it can be applicable too, because ETFs do pay dividends, but be mindful of dividend withholding tax especially from US stocks/ETFs yeah.

      hi, withholding tax are usually done automatically by the broker, so there is no need for us to calculate/report any of it. It's already taken into account before you receive your dividends/or changes in capital gains of those ETFs.
      I've explained more of it in this video: th-cam.com/video/hdQ7IVRT9oY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AE1C5M9dN6BzTtyz
      Hope this helps!

      My spouse and I are adding a variety of stocks/ETF to my present holdings for the long term, We've set aside $250k to start following inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flows with the help of our FA Anna Rounds Fay., I believe it is a good time to capitalize on the market for long-term gains, but it wouldn't hurt to know means of actualizing short term profit.

    • @zyan3131
      @zyan3131 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Short term, tech etf is very likely to boom, maybank is the safe bet as it won't have too big of drawdown but there's not much upside either. The word better highly depends on your risk appetite.

    If same yield, I buy more shares for cheap etf, will I make more profit than expensive etf for less shares?

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! That's a common question and a good one to ask. The short answer is: not necessarily. The number of shares you own isn't as important as the total value of your investment and the return rate.
      Whether an ETF is "cheap" or "expensive" per share doesn't directly affect the profit you'll make if the yield (percentage return) is the same. What matters is how much you've invested in total and the return rate on that investment. Hope this helps ;)

    Hi Ziet love your videos .. been leaning towards ETF Ireland Domicile thanks to u . Btw can u explain or make a video on differences between ETFs , Index Funds and Unit Trust/Mutual funds other than their differences in fees . I believe UT fees are considerably higher compared to ETFs . So other thn fees , what are the differences since all 3 investments allows you to diversify and have more exposure to the market ? Really appreciate if you could response to this

      But to answer your questions, tax is always the case for foreign investor, to dodge dividend withholding to certain extent, you can choose the replica of these ETFs, then instead of US domiciled, go for the ones with Ireland domiciled
