      Citi and standard chartered have the best cashback, theres always a welcome gift but sometimes its different. I saw a $500 spend, $400 cashback from standard chartered before!

    I was inspired to calculate how much I need to FIRE by your previous videos. I estimate about 12,000 DBS shares is needed to have a yearly dividend that is higher than my annual spending.

    Hi Aaron nice videos Try reading this book Quit Like a Millionaire: No Gimmicks, Luck, or Trust Fund Required its quite relevant to us because the writers FIRED in 2018 to 2020 there is a family with 3 kids who retired on 400 or 500k USD you can try to take inspiration from them In the book most of the ppl have a fund in index etf and bond etf 80 percent a fund for dividends (use when the market is crazy but top up when its good again) 50k worth of dividend stocks emergency fund (6 to 12 mths of expenses)

    Sir I think you have invested far too many counters. Share my experience I invested in 2023 in 3 local banks with ROE and dividend at 20%+. This year 2024 just touch 12% and counting. At rate of 10% compounding each year at $200 k. Initially 4 years ago I started $60k+ now profit $90 k. Too many counter we tend to out of focus.

    Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.

      I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second daughter. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks.

    why ocbc and not DBS that given decent yearly bonus and pays 4 times a year compare to ocbc that only pays 2 times a year. also ocbc has given DBS as a better buy option/rating compared to themselves in a paper release by them? interested to hear your POV

      The stock market can appear as a bewildering cauldron of fake news for new investors. I would advise using a CFP, giving him/her 2/3, and then investing the 1/3 on your own, but only if you have time to track stocks and educate yourself.

      @@RhondaArmstrong-y4d First two years, I lost money until I got my sea legs. My portfolio is well-matched by a certified financial planner for every season of the market, and just recently hit 7 figures after 5 years of subsequent investments. I'm retired and never leaving the market.

      I think it's easy to overlook the fact that building wealth has little to do with your income or investment returns, and lots to do with your discipline to save & savings rate. One could take home a 10k monthly income, but still be living off paychecks to paychecks.

      I think no matter how much you earn every month, you should build a system for this investments. Then slow build yourself to earn more and upgrade personal skill to stay current. Aaron, you have my utmost respect to stay constant to your investing mindset. The Singapore dividend stocks combine with growth ETF in US is quite a good balance for most people wants a more passive strategy. 😊

    There's a risk depending on growth stocks for your emergency funds. You rightly pointed out that there's an issue during market crashes, which ETFs are not immune to. If your emergency coincides with a big market crash, you'll be forced to liquidate at a bad price. Something to consider could be to stow a portion of your emergency funds in a low interest rate bank account or equivalent instead. You do need to work out the math on whether that makes sense for you, since i know you are trying to grow your portfolio as fast as possible.

    Instead of $SPY you could load up on $CSPX instead due to lower withholding tax of 15% vs 30%. Reason being it is not domiciled in US but in Ireland.
