Fantastic video! You broke down the concept of dividends and retirement planning really well. If you’re looking to grow your portfolio, uSMART SG offers low fees and a wide range of assets. Use code n74lob to get a welcome gift, including free Tesla stock and cash voucher. Keep up the great work!
buy seatrium now...retire earlier lol
nice since u like cycling u can consider food delivery for a few hours on your bike once a week too.
I only cycle in the evening otherwise ill melt in the day 🫠
I thought you are not working at GT already?
yup stop liao
@@AaronSurvivinginSingapore then where are you working at? your linkedin still shows you at there hahah
Your cashback was huge!! Thats close to 60%!! How do you get back so much credit card cashback??
Citi and standard chartered have the best cashback, theres always a welcome gift but sometimes its different. I saw a $500 spend, $400 cashback from standard chartered before!
@ But thats only for the first time purchase? Or every $500 you get back $400? Cause i have never see such wonderful cashback before! The frequency of cashback you receive is alot too. I using standard charter and UOB btw, the cashback was ridiculous.
Ah it's just the 1 time welcome gift!!
@ Ahhh. I see! But the number of times you get such huge cashback is insane too! Do you always apply for new credit card to enjoy these cashback?
Hmmm... once you have a girlfriend, your calculation will go haywire. lol.
Yeah so gotta save up for that era
That's quite sick to be not spending any money on food, seeing how that's the bulk of expenses for most people
I was inspired to calculate how much I need to FIRE by your previous videos. I estimate about 12,000 DBS shares is needed to have a yearly dividend that is higher than my annual spending.
Cool!! but idk if u wanna put everything in dbs hahhah dbs also has increasing dpu so inflation may actually take care of itself 😂
Need to make more months green $$$ 😂
Haha ez🫡
pls post a portfolio update! so inspiring!
Okie thats in the works :)
I am interested to buy the calculator, but I think 10$ a little bit too high.. If it's ever discounted, I would be very interested to grab it..
Alright! Lowered the price, hopefully can increase sales too hehe
just came across ur video, ur lifestyle defines living beyond inflation
Thats cuz i havent got wife n kids yet 😂
Hi Aaron nice videos Try reading this book Quit Like a Millionaire: No Gimmicks, Luck, or Trust Fund Required its quite relevant to us because the writers FIRED in 2018 to 2020 there is a family with 3 kids who retired on 400 or 500k USD you can try to take inspiration from them In the book most of the ppl have a fund in index etf and bond etf 80 percent a fund for dividends (use when the market is crazy but top up when its good again) 50k worth of dividend stocks emergency fund (6 to 12 mths of expenses)
What about emergencies? What about buying a property? Wife and kids? Furniture? Vehicle?
Sir I think you have invested far too many counters. Share my experience I invested in 2023 in 3 local banks with ROE and dividend at 20%+. This year 2024 just touch 12% and counting. At rate of 10% compounding each year at $200 k. Initially 4 years ago I started $60k+ now profit $90 k. Too many counter we tend to out of focus.
Do you keep any cash in bank
Does your monthly saving leads to investing ?
Yup of course, thats how the investments grow without active income
A cycle. 2009 Lehman. 2020 covid march. Where low is... Now is so high to buy. 2024 oct buy way to High to buy to create dividend. May devalue cost. End no profit or passive income. My view only.
Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.
I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second daughter. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks.
@@danguRobert Quitting may not be the best approach if you ask me. This is where an AI comes into the picture. I barely have time to trade myself as my job swallows up most of my time. MARGARET MOLLI ALVEY, a licensed fiduciary whom has made me over 5 figures in profit in less than seven months, handles my investments. I could leave you a lead if you need help.
@@AlilatTiamiyu Oh please I’d love that. Thanks!

Just came across your channel today. Congratulations on getting this far! How much do you invest per month at the start of your career (after the initial 30-40k) and currently this year?
I thought your contract with GT ended? It got extended?
yea ended already

You should check out the stock Keppel Infra Trust. Solid company with strong fundamentals and strong cashflows and high dividends.
Hi Aaron, what do you do with your dividends? Is there a way to auto reinvest them? Thank you!
nope Idk how auto reinvest them. Buy manually
why ocbc and not DBS that given decent yearly bonus and pays 4 times a year compare to ocbc that only pays 2 times a year. also ocbc has given DBS as a better buy option/rating compared to themselves in a paper release by them? interested to hear your POV
yea i feel dbs better too but prices are ATH right now :( i wanna buy more DBS since I have too much ocbc also
Hey! Just wanted to let u know, my thought process are almost entirely same as yours and I can totally relate to whatever you say! I can't believe i found my 同类 in terms of age, pay, job and mindset, coz the ppl around me are unable to accept this kind of extreme lifestyle and I'm like the weird person among my friends 😵💫😵💫
Hi 5 to a fellow POEMS client!!!
Hi can share invest where on which stock portal? Or number you have?

Hi can i just check the dividends do uou have to manually invest them back in? Or does SG provide any platforms that automatically reinvest them back for you. Thanks
having so much at age 26, you must be rich
I graduated early 😬
As an investing enthusiast, I've kept aside a good sum of capital to invest for financial independence and early retirement, but my concern right now is the market rally being propaganda. Is this a good time to buy stocks, or do I wait for the crash?
The stock market can appear as a bewildering cauldron of fake news for new investors. I would advise using a CFP, giving him/her 2/3, and then investing the 1/3 on your own, but only if you have time to track stocks and educate yourself.
@@RhondaArmstrong-y4d First two years, I lost money until I got my sea legs. My portfolio is well-matched by a certified financial planner for every season of the market, and just recently hit 7 figures after 5 years of subsequent investments. I'm retired and never leaving the market.
@@FolarinSodiq Congrats! The market to me is like a lucrative chess game, incredibly difficult to outperform, it's all about understanding how the world moves, its history, and psychology... mind disclosing info about your CFP? I'm quite curious.
@@ShellyHuerta She goes by the name ‘Victoria Carmen Santaella’ I suggest you look her up. To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finances, but so glad I did.
@@FolarinSodiq I feel thrilled about this, curiously inputted Victoria Carmen Santaella on the web, and spotted her consulting page ranked top. I've seen commentaries about advisors but not one looks this phenomenal.
Damn bro, you are doing really well. Keep fighting the good fight!
Well done young man! Just don’t deprive yourself from give something back to you and your loved ones. Memories and moments are precious. 😊
Yup I'm just enjoying the free things to do in sg for now😁
Could you pls talk about s&p500 30% withholding..
Impressive strategy! Hitting $271,000 by 26 is no small feat. I've been looking into different stocks to help accelerate my own growth, and $WKSP is one that's caught my eye-might be worth considering for anyone aiming for big financial goals!
Can u put a video for s&p500 investing from singapore is it worth?
The reason you got 271k at 26 is because your income is high, not because of investing.
Yea this vid is just my own investing strategy
I think it's easy to overlook the fact that building wealth has little to do with your income or investment returns, and lots to do with your discipline to save & savings rate. One could take home a 10k monthly income, but still be living off paychecks to paychecks.
I think no matter how much you earn every month, you should build a system for this investments. Then slow build yourself to earn more and upgrade personal skill to stay current. Aaron, you have my utmost respect to stay constant to your investing mindset. The Singapore dividend stocks combine with growth ETF in US is quite a good balance for most people wants a more passive strategy. 😊
Thanks for sharing, your current portfolio is enough for me to retire in my country. Btw would like to ask do you need to pay tax for dividends in IRAS?
What country is that? Ima go now
Nope i believe its already taxed at the company
U damn kilat. Role model.
how much do you DCA per month into each holding or do you buy a lump sum during a dip?
Dca About 1 or 2 lots (100-200 shares) but will buy more during a dip!
There's a risk depending on growth stocks for your emergency funds. You rightly pointed out that there's an issue during market crashes, which ETFs are not immune to. If your emergency coincides with a big market crash, you'll be forced to liquidate at a bad price. Something to consider could be to stow a portion of your emergency funds in a low interest rate bank account or equivalent instead. You do need to work out the math on whether that makes sense for you, since i know you are trying to grow your portfolio as fast as possible.
Thats ok, i dont plan to touch the growth stocks unless its the only option! But we'll see how that goes Anyway its worse if someone puts everything in growth stocks hehe😬
Hey Aaron! Nice to meet you! Fellow Singaporean here to building a portfolio.. super impressed by your channel and you achieved this at such a young age. I journal my portfolio journey too on my channel, but im like 11 yrs older hahaha
Hehe thanks! Nice to meet ya!
Instead of $SPY you could load up on $CSPX instead due to lower withholding tax of 15% vs 30%. Reason being it is not domiciled in US but in Ireland.
Wow super useful info!!! Thanks 🙏
Hi , can u make a video tutorial on how to open/register investing account from A-Z? (Fyi,Im not from singapore)
I think different platforms got different ways to register! You can probably find a video on youtube on that too😅
content is good lah.. but not too audible without CC captions.. hard truth bro... try to resolve it.. ok 🙏👍👍👍
Oh its too soft isit? Or isit cos its clipping? Thanks for the feedback, ill try to play around with the settings more!
Ah i see what u mean. the audio clips a lot especially noticeable when playing at 2x speed hahah
Thanks for your insight, bro. One question: As a non us resident you'd consider invest in dividend ETFs like SCHD instead of dividend stocks in SG? The growth of value and dividends of SCHD are higher I think. Please if I could have your opinion. Keep up the useful and good content, cheers. 🙂👍🏻
Oooo time to find it what schd is, hahaha heard of it b4 😅 as i said im not a finance nerd :)
my man is now financially free since yesterday
Lol i wishhhhh 🥹
U can be financially free too, if u leech off your parents
Hi Aaron, how do u track the dividends collected? Do you track it on a quarterly/yearly basis? Thanks!
Hmm i dont really track my dividends consistently. I just login to poems whenever im curious about my dividends. i dont need to track it for now since i dont plan to touch it until i start a family
Hii. How do I buy the dividends? Do I use poems platform? How do I navigate it?
You don't have to use poems, any investing platform will do!
Hi Aaron, can do a video on which platform you use to get your dividend ?
@@xiaoming88 haha ok maybe a short one. Idk why so many ppl ask 😬
