Great video, really hit home, definitely need to take a page from your book.
Thanks Max, that's a mighty fine compliment!
That was a thought provoking video! Given me lots to think about regarding training and life in general. Thanks for the upload Fr Mitch!
I appreciate that, and thanks much. I expected low views and lots of thumbs down on this one -- I'm relieved to see at least a few people got the intended message!
Good commentary. I know folks who are concerned about all kinds of stuff that will never happen. Zombie attacks, civil war, other goofy stuff. They should be getting fresh air, natural vitamin D from the sun, enjoying breakfast with their family.
Then do the preparedness work for the things that stress them out.
Glad you liked it sir! I disagree on the Zombie apocalypse though -- I'm going to make a video about that -- the Zombie Apocalypse is happening right now!
So did he make a toolbox eventually?
Hey im just curious where do palm strikes come from? Boxing maybe before gloves?
Don't know sir. I suppose however that the origins striking with the palm are in the mists of time -- this may just be something that people instinctively did and do.
@@Fr_Mitch several martial arts have palm strikes but i am asking about rough n tumble palm strikes? Is it from Dempsey era boxing or possibly a native tribe technique? Im asking because you said modern rough n tumble is a blend of techniques from the colonial period.
As I said, before, you're not going to be able to tease out what came from where and sort it all into little individual boxes as to where it came from. There are no records to refer to. Things have to be tested and compared against other things to see how they fit. For example, we know that the rough and tumble palm strike cannot the fingers pointing upward. Because that would cause your face to be exposed, and your chin would not be behind your arm and shoulder. Therefore, it's not in keeping with RnT philosophy. So therefore, we know that the Palm strike in RnT should be delivered with the fingers pointing to the side not upward. Because this ensures that the arm is straight and the jaw is protected on defense. I hope that makes sense! RnT is like living archeology.
