All these people comparing it to Hearthstone, and here I am after a little time playing it and(in my humble opinion) its actually a lot more like Magic. Sure the Mana system is the the same as Hearthstone, and they removed the Blocking Phase like HS did, but as a person who has played Magic for 15 solid years(not as much as some, but plenty of experience) this game just FEELS like Magic. When I first heard about this game, I too shrugged off the two Lanes style of play thinking it wouldn't be that important. But I realize now, just how VASTLY different that one change has made this game. At its core, a CCG is all about the tactics of the actual games and the strategy of the deck-building. The tactics have really been twisted on their side due to the duel lanes(From both Magic and HS) and its deck-building has gone back to Magic's old style of choosing two colors and making them work together in different ways. Which, while directly copied from Magic, is still a relief to me since I always found HS's deck-building to be a touch simplistic. So, in conclusion, though Legends may look like HS in the way it plays out, it feels much more like Magic and is actually quite the unique game as well. So don't judge a book by its cover, folks. And not to sound like an elitist here, but if you have only ever played HS, than you really don't know what a CCG is and you really shouldn't be judging one.
This comment makes me smile. Only two years ago and everybody was talking about how good and better than tf2 OW was. Nowadays, only two years later, nobody gives a single crap about this game
No. It's McCree's new mechanic. Whenever you highnoon your oponents with his Gambler skin, he'll scream "It's all in.." instead and a card minigame will open. If you beat them you take all their credits, if they beat you, they gain a lootbox with 5 sprays (and instead of "Draw" he says "The house always wins").
I saw this in my queue, ran to grab my headphones, came back excited af to hear of the next Elder Scrolls game, sat down, and read the words "Everything you need to know about the upcoming Elder Scrolls card game."
If you enjoy hearthstone I promise you this game will be entertaining to u. Played the beta for a couple hours so far and it is pretty addicting. Nice refreshment from Hearthstone imo
Is it easy to understand. Cause thats why i dont play Magic that much as it is confusing at start. Hearthstone was easy to understand maybe because it was digital and you dont need 2000 cards to play it. Like how Magic has mana cards and such. Thats where it gets confusing.
I found the campaign's choices between cards was a cool little way to add a story to some cards you are gathering. I really enjoyed the beta and I look forward to the full release.

I doubt it. Let's assume you've played for 2 years I don't think you can beat plzdonthackme, but if you didn't quit I can assume you are probably better than myself who has played daily for ~4 months +2 months that I played, but before I had to quit.
Only as much as Hearthstone really, and maybe even abit less, and its really not that bad. The cards that do have RNG you can generally play smart and focus them somewhat.
I find the pack opening more rewarding as well, ive gotten mutiple packs with 2 to 3 rare and a epic and i even scored a legendary in the first hour after playing the campaine mode.
+Dominic Fanaris Might aswell give it a try it is free. Also i have not spent a dollar on it and i dont feel behind anyone. Besides that i might not have much legendaries. Also the tavern brawls are really fun sometimes. I get on just to play it lets the game stay relavent.
Definitely giving this a crack. I love, LOVE, Magic, so when Hearthstone was announced I was like, fuck yeah, that's mad. Unfortunately it's just a little too dumbed down for my tastes. The early mid game is fine, definitely dumbed down, but still ok, but then end game is just basically "Who has the better legendary card?" the number of good games I've been in that have been back and forth and crazy that were ruined by "Oh, I just drew Onyxia, OK... This is over." and it just didn't feel as good to me. This looks like a nice balance between the two, inviting and simple enough for newer players, but not as simple as HS. The lane mechanic seems interesting, keen as butts to give it a go.
I play Shadowverse to get rid of the RNG, but damn does Solo Arena look good. Always love me a good gauntlet mode that is (hopefully) different every time! I've been waiting for this game.

I got into the beta for this... Haven't actually installed it yet. Might give it a try. Seems like a pretty competent game. Also, less RNG is always a plus. Been a Magic player for a bit over 20 years (off and on), so I'm somewhat used to how that game functions. Hearthstone has some really fun cards, but the randomness in that game makes it quite frustrating to play. Though I really do like a lot of the Legendary minions in it. Anything like that in Elder Scrolls Legends?
Ffs.. Bethesda are just working on the main series. They did not make this game and they did not make TESO. That's DireWolf Studios and Zenimax Online. Neither of those games are halting the development of the main series, you're just getting more TES-related games while you wait. Also, if aren't caught up yet: Bethesda will release two new titles before the next installment of TES arrives.
i haven't played the game before, but i think im really going to like the lane system. It will probably make a lot of cards that would be unusable in heartstone (example: 5 mana 7-4) much more viable for applying pressure and punishing greedy plays.
This actually hinders you surprise surprise. Even now big bodies aren't the best unless they have an impact (Studious Greybeard a potential 4 cost 8/8 doesnt see much play) the game is more of a fight of trades till one player has card advantage, because unlike Herthstone fighting for the board in exchange for cards is usually a bad idea.
Is the combat system more like magic where the defender decides which creatures block and which creatures attack you or is it more like hearthstone where the attacker decides which creatures get attacked? I somehow like the magic system a little bit more as it is not that forseeable how your enemy will react.
I want to ask about F2P aspect, how many gold can you win per day? I think packs are 100 gold and arena 150 like in Hearthstone.... In Hearthstone, you can win around 50 gold per day and it seems like a good reward for me as I am casual player and can save the dailies for 3 days (so I can play once per 3 days and get 3 quests done - enough for one arena). Also are Solo arena opponents preconstructed or are they also "randomized"?

Not strictly true. The game has its own forms of RNG but they are not nearly as unpredictable as hearthstone. It can be quite frustrating sometimes, actually... But not nearly as bonkers as Hearthstone where 1 in 3 cards has built-in RNG which makes the game wildly unpredictable and frustrating. So, in a nutshell, yes there is RNG in Legends, but you have greater control over it.
There's definitely rng in the game - certain cards have an aditional effect if the top card of your deck is the same colour (obviously you can remedy this by playing only one colour), and the best one drop creature in the game is a 1/1 that deals 3 damage to a random enemy target when it dies. HOWEVER, there's very few of these kind of cards. If you're sick of Hearthstone's boner for rng like me, you'll be pleased to find that Legends is way more predictable and as a result, more about skill.
Verrou A very good summary Verrou, I find that I have to think alot more in Legends, and I am far less punished for not countering rushes by default. I have a lot more time to mess around and plan my board.. all without worrying about some random RNG nightmare card (ie Yogg Saron) just instantly winning the game for my opponent based on 100% random crap.
I cant even have the slightest interest in "thinking" about another digital card game. Its all just small tweeks here and there, not enough for it to be a meaningful "new" game. Actually I think that this game is better than Hearthstone, there are so many different deck varieties to build and this game will be free to play entirely, you even get free legendaries which you can upgrade later on.
I heard it wasnt set to release till 2020 as Bethesda want to do a lot with the game. If it were to release earlier would be good and bad. Good because it will have much more stuff to do. Bad because it will not look as good probably buggy also.
Hi Force, please take a look at the game Solforge. It is neither new nor popular, but it has a few mechanics that make use of the digital format in a way I haven't encountered in any other CCG. Sadly I can't really recommend the game, since it is affected by power creep to an almost comical degree and the competitive meta is just as bad as in Hearthstone. However I have to ask you to try it out, not even to make a video, but just to try it, because I can't stand it, when interesting game mechanics just go by unnoticed.

Magic Duels is also harder to play because the software itself is a disgrace on both a technical and design level.

I really wish that these card games would be actual, physical card games. Collecting the cards is the most fun aspect of these games.
Can't replace the speed of yugioh for me. The Ability to slap a neptabyss down and watch the despair in my enemies eyes just can't be beat.

please take a look at the game Solforge. It is neither new nor popular, but it has a few mechanics that make use of the digital format in a way I haven't encountered in any other CCG. Sadly I can't really recommend the game, since it is affected by power creep to an almost comical degree and the competitive meta is just as bad as in Hearthstone. However I have to ask you to try it out, not even to make a video, but just to try it, because I can't stand it, when interesting game mechanics just go by unnoticed.
Is it on pc? Or Apple Store or maybe even console?
