@@valon5069 All they won was the imperial capital back, not much of a boon, plus it would take years to restore the legions, so yea, the empire wasn't on a stool to flex power where as the elves could even with such a large lost.
Sephiroa One-of-Nine the Imperial city was not the only victory the Empire had, as an Imperial General despondent his legion and ordered them to aid Hammerfel in their defense against the Dominion, which proved to be the main reason the Thalmor were defeated so easily in the war for Hammerfel. And as little as the victory for the Imperial seamed, it was the true turning point of the war since most of the Dominions forces were there as well as the Daedric artifact that led them to almost winning the war against the Empire. This proved that it was beneficial to retake the Imperial city as otherwise the Empire would have lost the war, besides the fact that if they didn’t, the Dominion would have opened a Oblivion gate inside the Imperial tower
I really hope TESVI focuses on the Thalmor, culminating with the second great war, in which you get to fight/command the western front in hammerfell. A begining to the game that would be awesome: There is a burlap sack over hour head, a Thalmor agent is interrogating you, demanding information about the Alikr' resistance. Angry at your lack of response he rips the burlap sack off your head, his face inches away staring with hate at you. The camera rotates so we see what the agent sees, and we customize our character. After we finish customizing our character the Agent mentions something about our race ("You redguard swine are all the same...", "Your an Aldmeri as well, why betray your own people...") Before much longer you begin hearing shouts from outside your cell. The agent moves towards the cell exit to investigate. A massive explosion happens and the cell wall explodes inward, smashing the agent against the wall. You can hear gusting wind, and sand begins blowing agrresively through the hole, a sandstorm. Alikr' warriors flood into the prison, shouting war cries, and instructions to find someone. An Alikr' aproaches you and undoes the schackles holding you to your chair. "Its time to go, the Thalmor will be here any second" You then run out of the hole in the cell, and disappear into the sandstorm with the Alikr'.
I do think that it’s safe to say the cannon outcome for the civil war is a temporary truce and then continued fighting given that they put that quest in the game.
I feel like Skyrim missed out on so many opportunities. You should’ve been able to become a Jarl or even been able to run to become High King. You could’ve rebuilt Helgen or gotten Solitude/Windhelm (depending on who you side with) I mean why wouldn’t they want the Dragonborn, the savior of the world to become a Jarl. I feel like you deserve that much.
if you play on a PC might i suggest modding your game with rigmor? they currently have 2 of 3 mods out. glitchy as hell in parts and you sometimes use the console to bump the quest progression but well worth the play through. Fair warning. in the first one you pick it up as you are going into riverwood. so a level 2-3 player. so think no fast travel unless the quest texts says it's ok to FT
There is no proof that the argonians conquered any of Morrowind, it is stated that is unclear if the invasion was an attempt at expansion or revenge, House Redoran also pushed them back at Mournhold. House Dres is also still a Great House alongside House Telvanni so they must have most of their holdings which are in Sothern Morrowind. Telvanni territory is in the North-East of Morrowind past Mournhold so most of House Telvanni was not seriously affected, the only evidence of House Telvanni being affected comes from a Dunmer in his basement in a building probably in Southern Morrowind, the Dunmer also said it was the end of House Telvanni which as we can see in a Skyrim was definitely not the case.
The argonians made it all they way to Vvardenfell, I'm pretty sure they got pushed back to Mournhold. They're literally the reason the crater of Vivec City is scorching hot and burning.
@@redfallxenos4585 No it's outright stated that they were pushed back AT Mournhold not to Mournhold. The Red Year is what caused the destruction of Vvardenfell and even then they started rebuilding a few months after.

Wow this was finished just in time, I had stumbled upon the 1st era about a week ago and finally got around to finishing the series today. Well done! I guess the new emperor has yet to be decided?
Titus Mede knows how to play the long game, the Battle of the Red Ring proved that well enough, and considering how vehemently he was ready to fight the war against the Dominion when they first demanded their subservience, I think its fair to say that the emperor still has plans for turning things around and setting the stage for a more favorable Second Great War.
This dragonborn is hypothesized to be shezzarine, aka mortal Shor. If this is true, when he dies he will return to sovngarde and rule eternally. Kinda like sheogorath is the hero of kvatch.
With Tamriel in chaos I wouldn't be surprised if Akavir throws a monkeywrench into things and becomes a possible threat as they send their scouts for invasion in next Elder Scrolls.
Is shit you not, but all of these thalmor shenanigans confirms 2 theories about it -The Thalmor leaders aren't really Altmer, but Ayleid survivor descendants passing as it to enact vengeance against Men, modern Altmer and tamrielic people wouldnt recognize them, since they can pass out as a "more darker altmer", plus everyone think s that they are extinct. -The Thalmor are being led by a Daedra who hates men for representing chaos, certain Daedra is also free ever since the last greymarch. and since Time in oblivion is far more different than ours as demonstrated in ESO...
I will never support the Stormcloaks. Martin Septim died protecting Cyrodil and the Empire he never asked for. I won't let that Empire fall even if the Septims are gone
The whole reason the Stormcloaks are fighting is that the Thalmor subjugated the Empire and are violently erasing the legacy of the Septims through the ban on Talos worship. The Empire has already essentially fallen by the time Skyrim begins, the Stormcloaks are just the only ones left still fighting in the name of the Septim dynasty.
What you get from this video, is that Skyrim was highly open to refugees from Morrowind and Orsinium, the even gave away Solstheim to the elves. Maybe the Nords just said enough, with Ulfric
I wouldn’t say it’s boring, it’s more of just a depressing time period. Morrowind blows the fuck up, the Septim dynasty is extinct, the Empire begins to fall apart, then the Great War devastated Tamriel and caused the Empire to weaken even more. Plus the worship of Talos is outlawed and causes the Stormcloak rebellion to happen, which will then in turn cause the Altmeri Doninion to invade Skyrim. Also Alduin nearly destroyed the world. Wouldn’t say boring, just a really shitty time to be alive in Tamriel.
There is one important lesson I took away from this video. As per the usual, the Altmer are always right. We shall bring Auri-El's divine order back to this world, even if those decieved by Lorkhan would try to stop us. We are heirs to Tamriel, and man can either accept it, or piss off back to Atmora.
The only true gods are the Hist. And only those who are born under the Hist deserve to rule over Tamriel. While you where crawling around in you fancy towers, playing with fireworks and fearing the end of your streched out lives, we, the children of the Hist, marched trough the Oblivion Gates, armed just with spear and the armor the Hist blessed us since birth and we struck fear into beasts with no emotions. With just some wooden sticks and our scales we accomplish something you couldn't do with your superior existance and powerfull magic.
@@cavareenvius7886 only because the Argonians were warned before hand and could prepare. The Altmer closed a lot of gates even though they were taken by surprise. If the countries were prepared like the Argonians then everyone would have done much better
Since it seems like everything is decaying since the septim bloodline ended, I hope that in a future game we get to play as a new Tiber septim/Talos like person who literally becomes the new emperor (through evil or good gains) and re joines the empire

Vuhon and Sul do not make a deal with clavicus vile, they build the ingenium and use it to steal power from Viles realm, by siphoning souls into his realm. Sul actually explains that he suspects Vile like what was coming in more than what he missed what was going out.
(Ive been through the books a few times by now. I really. like them)
Thanks for completing such a HUGE project! I too would love to see the Dawn and Merethic Eras. I think we all know that timelines will be a bit hazy that far back, but it would really give some nice context on the whole story. Thanks guys!
You're still getting "season unending" wrong!!! arrrrg! It's explained in game, in that same quest, I believe, that the literal translation of the ancient Nord word for war is "season unending". This is probably because the ancient Nords believed that war... war never changes.
Yes, the ancient nord word for war translates into season unending
skuzzkitty Schrödinger It could mean both
Bruh is skyrim just after the events of fallout
They didnt get it wrong lmao
I've enjoyed this series and would love to see the Dawn and would love to see the Dawn and Merethic eras explained. Thank you for making these videos!
Imperials: ban Talos worship and permit Talmor deathsquads to kill with impunity in Skyrim
Nords: get mad and revolt
Imperials: Suprised Pikachu face
You forgot to mention that in the year 201, the last Dragonborn didn't get to the cloud district very often.
The Mede dinasty is so weak that maybe resurrecting the Wolf Queen would make the Empire strong again.

I'd love to see Dawn and Merethic eras explained. I do have to say it's very difficult to follow if you have no understanding of Kirkbrides time but the lore is amazing regardless
“Beating off any Aldmeri attacks.”
I loved this episode, I didn't realise how interesting the was was between the Thalmor and the Empire
you know what would be an amazing spin off game?
a medi-eval combat game that takes place during the great war between the empire and Aldemeri Dominion, with a Halo: Reach style story of constantly being reminded that defeat is inevitable, regardless of the small victories you win.
Or one of the argonian attacks on southern morrowind after House Redoran begins to beat them back. Climax could be the sacking of mournhold where your character dies
Aaaaaaaand... now I wish Bethesda would hire you... that's actually a pretty badass idea, and I'm surprised I never heard of it sooner! 😊
"medi-eval combat game"
0:38 Oh fudgemuppet, you should know by now that if you offer to make something if there is demand, everyone is gonna beg for it regardless of any lack of previous interest.
I wish the calendar in Oblivion said fourth era after you complete the main quest
I love this videos FudgeMuppet! Thank you for giving the ES fanbase the gift of lore because I missout on finding all the lore on the games because of my short attention span. That "For the Damaged Coda" song would fit the 4th Era pretty well.

Thalmor because they could later be overthrown by a collective effort of provinces
@@uselessalgae9381 I agree.
Been to Sovngarde. The most fun I had was killing a dragon. Otherwise it was pretty empty and boring. I would not recommend as a tourist destination, unless you like eternal dusk, and all of the natives talk in rhymes.
Tamriel getting destroyed, no doubt about it.
Empire in the 3rd Era we will never surrender we will fight to the last man
Empire in the fourth Era we surrender we surrender
well a fucking invasion of a daedric prince will do that ....ffs
Commander Shepard actually it was a peace treaty rather than a surrender. The Empire was winning yet both sides had taken tremendous damage, yet I do admit the peace treaty aided the Thalmor more than the Empire
When did Cyrodiil become France? Lol
You also forgot that space travel was invented by the dragonborn and the giants
I really hope TESVI focuses on the Thalmor, culminating with the second great war, in which you get to fight/command the western front in hammerfell.
A begining to the game that would be awesome:
There is a burlap sack over hour head, a Thalmor agent is interrogating you, demanding information about the Alikr' resistance. Angry at your lack of response he rips the burlap sack off your head, his face inches away staring with hate at you. The camera rotates so we see what the agent sees, and we customize our character.
After we finish customizing our character the Agent mentions something about our race ("You redguard swine are all the same...", "Your an Aldmeri as well, why betray your own people...")
Before much longer you begin hearing shouts from outside your cell.
"Its time to go, the Thalmor will be here any second"
You then run out of the hole in the cell, and disappear into the sandstorm with the Alikr'.

I’ve been planning a uestrpg game for my friends set during the stormcrown interregnum and I have to say your videos have been a huge help
I do think that it’s safe to say the cannon outcome for the civil war is a temporary truce and then continued fighting given that they put that quest in the game.
Fudge Muppet just used 100% of his power to make this video of great information,I can now travel in time, thank you for securing the empire's victory.
Eric Dyer I’ve seen those Rigmor mods on Nexus before, when I fix up my pc I might give them a try.
Or you know... emperor of the Empire

Scott this is a certified banger of a video, hats off to yall
@@redfallxenos4585 They're not the reason why there's a crater at Vivec City, the cause of that is the Red Year.
@@redfallxenos4585 No it's outright stated that they were pushed back AT Mournhold not to Mournhold. The Red Year is what caused the destruction of Vvardenfell and even then they started rebuilding a few months after.
@@dutchpatriot17 I never said the argonians caused the crater
@@redfallxenos4585 But they're not the reason it's scorching hot and burning either.
Yay another video... I love your content guys... stay with it. It makes us all really happy
I hope we fight the Thalmor in TES6.
Great video explaining the build up to the events that occur in Skyrim. It’s increddible How much though and care has been put in the lore of tes and this only makes me appreciate the amazing game that Skyrim is even more! I gues will have to wait and see how the events of Skyrim will effect the future of tes, but I’m a bit overwelmed by all the Loose ends, for example the civil war, return of the dark brotherhood, us encountering members of phsydjic order and yet we gained no information about them and they just leave. And finally, of course the hole Dragon crisis thing, I want to know if it only occured in Skyrim, in game we didn’t really feel how it affected the province of Skyrim, only helgen destroyed for example... Would love to hear you speculate about these loose ends! And again great video. Thank you! I feel much more complete as a tes and Skyrim fan!
i agree its very overwhelming the loose ends, it kind of reminds of GoT books... To many loose ends to even address, if anything they've put to much time into "lore" and wrote themselves into a corner
They Argonians didn't conquer morrowind, they may have taken back some of southern morrowind but even thats unconfirmed

I was planning to meet a guy from Grindr but....Fudgemuppet uploaded.
You have made my month! I would love to see the dawn and merethic era!
that was interesting though am surprised you didnt talk about the possible destruction of the DB
al hail the true high king of skyrim
yeah but without a listener they won't go after the emperor and i dont think that they would stick in the brotherhood after the destruction
since they actually made a quest to kill him, its very likely that he will die anyway
was not a dark brotherhood assassin thought and pretty much dead if i recal right
@@roopelindgren98 There isn't any assassin aboard the ship.
There is but he's not part but he's not part of the db
Titus Mede knows how to play the long game, the Battle of the Red Ring proved that well enough, and considering how vehemently he was ready to fight the war against the Dominion when they first demanded their subservience, I think its fair to say that the emperor still has plans for turning things around and setting the stage for a more favorable Second Great War.
Well hes dead now
Of course we want the other eras, and you know it. You're just teasing.
Ulfric: We need to build a wall and have the Imperials pay for it.
Tullius: We need to take the Stormcloak Rebellion and push it somewhere else!
What is the actual canon ending for the Dragonborn? Does he/she get trapped in apocrypha?
The canon ending is he gets life in prison after murdering Nazeem.
This dragonborn is hypothesized to be shezzarine, aka mortal Shor. If this is true, when he dies he will return to sovngarde and rule eternally. Kinda like sheogorath is the hero of kvatch.
@@sabokiTV He isn't a Shezzarine, that theory has been debunked years ago.
Yes, that's the canon ending.
@@dutchpatriot17 alright, prove it. He is a reincarnation of Talos too. The canon quest of that dumbfuck ghost proves it.
With Tamriel in chaos I wouldn't be surprised if Akavir throws a monkeywrench into things and becomes a possible threat as they send their scouts for invasion in next Elder Scrolls.
Lionel Whiskerknot It’d be awesome to finally see the snake men
Is shit you not, but all of these thalmor shenanigans confirms 2 theories about it
-The Thalmor leaders aren't really Altmer, but Ayleid survivor descendants passing as it to enact vengeance against Men, modern Altmer and tamrielic people wouldnt recognize them, since they can pass out as a "more darker altmer", plus everyone think s that they are extinct.
-The Thalmor are being led by a Daedra who hates men for representing chaos, certain Daedra is also free ever since the last greymarch.
and since Time in oblivion is far more different than ours as demonstrated in ESO...
A) The Ayleids are long gone, and were absorbed by the other elves, and simply been bred into them.
B)Jyglagg doesn't care about nirn

Beast of a video. Congrats compiling this!
this video was just one oof after another. This is a sad era XD
I would definitely watch videos about the Dawn and Merethic Eras! :)
Keep up the good work. This series is my favorite one.
What you get from this video, is that Skyrim was highly open to refugees from Morrowind and Orsinium, the even gave away Solstheim to the elves. Maybe the Nords just said enough, with Ulfric
Favorite series so far, mean as if you use it as background noise, soak up the lore. Would be super mean to see a dawn and or merethic era vid.
I'd like to argue that the 4th era is the most boring.
Probably because it's only 201 years in
Yeah the 3rd era was good in my opinion.
ide argue the opposite considering the two other comments lol, 201 years in and so much has happened, more than any other era "Big" event-wise
All of those things are awesome. The empire is a genocidal tyranny that dresses itself up as a tolerant liberal society.@@brendan9868
I'd like to see you do The Dawn Era and Myerthic Era in a video. The events of these Era's are quite difficult to place in Chronological order.
Awww geee Rick do we want to see a video on the dawn and merethic era errrr of course morty what are we duh dumb ;p
14:20 Wait, but what exactly was his plan if the empire did accept the ultimatum? Was he just going to wheel away his cart of human heads?
Sometimes watching these videos I just cry at the beauty of it all.
Since it seems like everything is decaying since the septim bloodline ended, I hope that in a future game we get to play as a new Tiber septim/Talos like person who literally becomes the new emperor (through evil or good gains) and re joines the empire
Love this channel! Top notch!
