      I think you'd really enjoy the show Vikings, if you haven't seen it already. Season 1 is good, starts off a bit slow perhaps, but then it just keeps leveling up season for season, until and including at least season 4. And, while the concluding seasons might be a bit weaker, some of my favorite scenes are in season 5 and 6. I don't think it would be worth the time to edit reactions for Vikings to put up on TH-cam, but the show is well worth a watch if you somehow decide you have a couple of extra hundred hours lying around.. xD

    And also, the shield Jon had to block Ramsay's arrows was a Mormont shield. So it looks like Lyanna Mormont's 62 men were useful after all and saved Jon.

    This is a masterpiece. I remember feeling like i was being smothered when Jon was trapped. The brutality and speed depicted in the battle is unmatched. I also remember being really pissed that Sansa did not disclose her request to the Vale to Jon. If you loved the score to this one, you're gonna freak over the score for the next one.

    • @doommonger7784
      @doommonger7784 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's it, she sent out a request and had no idea if Littlefinger would respond. Would John be prepared to delay for a reply when Ramsey had Rickon, the answer would of been no as he had no reason to trust Littlefinger to bring the Vale knights after what happened to Sansa with Littlefingers deal with the Boltons.

    • @BhlackBishop
      @BhlackBishop ปีที่แล้ว +4

      "Ramsay’s the one who lays the trap”, “don’t do what he expects you to do” - Sansa.
      She knew Ramsey was up to something she just didn't know what so she kept the Vale a secret until Ramsey revealed his plans and then she could counter attack. If she told Jon he would most likely have them in the front which would prompt Ramsey to siege at Winterfell due to the numerical disadvantage. As to how Ramsey wasn’t aware of a mobilized army marching towards Winterfell on horseback in the snow, well he kind of forgot. Happens to the best of us.

    • @gunkulator1

  • @QueenMabx

    • @jlerrickson

    • @RLKmedic0315
      @RLKmedic0315 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sansa is an idiot. And entirely self serving. She learned from Cersei and Littlefinger so it's not surprising.

    • @rinmartell2678
      @rinmartell2678 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@jlerricksonNo,Sansa at this point understood how Ramsey plays dirty. She told Jon that Ramsey will have a trap ready for Jon and that they will never get Rickon back. She also understood that Jon would try to safe as many lifes as possible. It was Sansa who told Jon to use the wildlings as his army. If it weren’t for her Jon would not let them fight his battle. However, Jon did not truly listen to Sansa and he wasn’t ready to sacrifice his men and also he was underestimating Ramsey even after Sansas intel about him. Here is how Sansas plan was from the beginning: she wanted Ramsey and his army out of Winterfell in an open battlefield. She knew that the Boltons would not stand a chance against the Knights of the Vale. Ramsey also would have known this. So what would Ramsey have done when he saw the Knights of the vale? He would have put his army right infront Winterfell and would prepare for a siege. Winterfell is one of the most impressive castles in Westeros. In the books it is described as being unconquerable. Ramsey had enough provisions and it was winter. Jons army did not have the time and capacity to siege Winterfell. Ramsey literally said himself that this is Winterfell and that they don’t have the men for a siege. Sansa wanted to destroy Ramsey in a open battlefield. Jon however would have never accepted this, because it meant to sacrifice some of his mens life. Jon would have used the knights of the vale right from the start and Ramsey would prepare for a siege. It would be worst case scenario for the starks. Unlike Robb, who sacrificed 2000 of his men to capture Jamie, Jon is not a great battle strategist. Sansa understood this and she played Jon for the greater good. This is the only logical explanation for Sansas behavior. And I fully support it. I like Jon but he is stupid. Sansa learned from Cercei, Littlefinger and Ramsey. She played the game, she won, she beat Ramsey at his own game.

    • @koreancowboy42
      @koreancowboy42 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @rinmartell2678 except Sansa never told Jon about littlefinger and the vale knights. Sansa never let Jon in on the plans she had.
      I never liked her anyway. Jon was a true king, especially when he united the northern houses and Wildlings and also forgiven the houses that didn't join against the battle against the boltons.
      Especially houses Karstarks and Umbers.
      Cuz Jon knew what would people think about him if he killed them then the others would feel threaten by Jon. Along side he was chosen to be King in the north and a leader.
      Sansa is nothing without Littlefinger and the vale. I hope you know that, she is nothing just as much compared to Jon.
      Also don't talk about Rob sacrificing 2,000 men just to get Jamie.
      2,000 men for 18,000 soldiers to destroy Jamie's army of 30,000 men.

      I knew he was going to die when I read the books and noticed Rickon's pet wolf is named Shaggy Dog.
      A "shaggy dog story" is an old euphemism meaning a story that doesn't go anywhere and has no point.
      I think this detail is GRR Martin the author toying with us readers, foreshadowing that all the Ice and Fire series is or will be ultimately meaningless and without a moral to the story or a proper conclusion! A grand ironic joke.

    The Red Woman storyline has some great nuance that often gets missed by most viewers. Obviously her interpretation of the signs for Stannis was wrong, disastrously. But obviously her magic is real. I think it’s a very human flaw to have her be so resolutely faithful in her interpretation of ambiguous signs and to have her faith shaken when it was revealed she was wrong. The theology of Westeros is fascinating, because at the very least the Lord of Light and the Wierwood Trees seem to be real tangible forces. Who knows if all the magic comes from one source that just goes by different names depending on the culture of the faithful or if there are competing deities. Either way, the flaw of zealously misinterpreting gods’ will is very true to life.

But what a great feeling to know Jon and Sansa (and I’ll give her some credit) avenged Robb Stark. you should give ALL the credit to Sansa. It was her who motivated Jon to fight and to use the wildings as an army and it was her who won the knights of the vale or their side and it was Sansa who laid a trap for Ramsey and provocatived an open battle. Otherwise Ramsey would have prepared for a siege. Sansa did most of the work.

    One of many great things about this show and this battle is the fact that they seemingly got the physics right for the giants. If you compare giants, or just very large super heroes (cough The Hulk cough), in other movies and shows, they seem to be moving far too quickly for an individual of that size and weight, and it takes you out of the shot and makes them look cartoonish and weightless. We all have an inherent understanding of inertia, and when movie flagrantly disregards that, it just doesn't look right. Not so in GoT, here you can literally feel the weight and mass and inertia in everything Wun-Wun (and the other giants) does, and while Wun-Wun can (and often do) destroy large numbers of men, he can't just plow through them, bobbing and weaving to escape being speared, and the normal soldiers can use his size and the predictability of his movements against him. If he's just swung at a group of men say in the direction of 0 degrees, basically everyone from 90 to 270 degrees gets a free stab at him, since he can't just spin around and strike at them, and he won't be able to for several seconds.

    A lot of people have an issue with Sansa not telling Jon about the knights of the vale, but honestly their surprise entrance is what won the battle. She laid a trap, just like Ramsey would do. She didn't tell Jon because he already said he wouldn't wait for more reinforcements, and if she told him she was trusting Littlefinger's word then he definitely wouldn't have stalled the battle anyway. I do think part of her was still distrustful of Jon, which I get considering the amount of betrayals Sansa has gone through. Trusting anyone again is a process.

    Can I just say, I appreciate your appreciation for the music so much. Also, the editing is primo. 👩‍🍳 💋🤌
    Specifically, when you fade the music in and out, when your talking, or when the screen is removed, but we still hear the music. It just raises and lowers. Let's you avoid copywright holds, or whatever. And for us, it is Wonderful. It allows us, who've seen this a thousand times, enjoy it more. Because it allows us to really fall back into the moment. We are getting chills with you. Our eyebrows shoot up with you. Our heart rate rises with your's. These are the little details that make you very good at what you do. Thank you for that. You absolutely rock. 🤘

      There's a lot more than nitpicking. Some points don't make any sense, like how the Vale army got there in the 1st place. There is only 1 way into the North, thru Moat Cailin, which the Boltons currently hold. The Vale LF has no substantial navy to transport their army either. There's a lot more. 😊

    • @jesses5463
      @jesses5463 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your point about Rickon is idiotic. Nearly as idiotic as the Starks themselves. The Starks have consistently showed themselves to be the dumbest family in all the seven kingdoms, time and time again. Why anyone would expect Rickon to do something halfway intelligent is beyond me. Certainly Jon didn't do anything intelligent in this episode. He continues to live up to the stupidity we all expect from the Starks.
