  • How does more power than a factory Porsche 718 Cayman S sound from your 718 Cayman Non-S? You can have just that, with the RSS Stage 2 ECU software.
    Porsche's move away from the naturally aspirated formula for the 718 Boxster/Cayman for a lower capacity and turbocharged formula was a bit of a disappointment for purists. However with the turbocharging came new oppertunities for tuners to extract more performance more easily than ever before.
    With our RSS Stage 2 custom ECU software fuelling, ignition, boost and many other maps inside the ECU are optimised for improved power, torque and driveability. This particular 718 Cayman has the stock exhaust system fitted but with the incredibly restrictive main cat replaced with a high-flow item to reduce back-pressure and EGTs. With a complete high-performance exhaust system even more power can be enjoyed.
    Power & Torque Figures
    🔵 Max Gains +80HP & 75lbfts
    🔵 Peak Gains +80HP & 64lbfts
    🔵 Max Output + 385HP & 351lbfts
    Customer feedback: ''You can definitely put down how pleased I am with it. The power delivery is great - really linear and gets stronger with revs. The power suits the character of the car and I think it’s actually the perfect amount of go for the car. 385bhp and 1330kg = 290bhp which is useable but not too crazy.''

    I think there’s a valid argument for having a minimum of 6 cylinders in Porsche (sports car). But no denying the gains the 4 cylinder cars bring with a few mods are really impressive.

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Couldn't agree more with that! For aftermarket tuning the Cayman/Boxster has historically been a tough cookie to get big power/torque gains at a reasonable cost.
      The new turbo platform completely opens up a new realm of performance with these cars, without changing the engine, which is what some customers do do!

    Considering a similar upgrade for my new 2.0l. What difference to 0-62mph would that extra 80hp yield, roughly?

      Awesome!! They drive AMAZING when tuned, sadly, we did not record any 0-62mph figures, which would not be this cars strong point anyway

    What kind of engine stress would the mods put? I'm thinking of doing some mods on my 2019 718 Boxster GTS but I'm worried about long term stress on the motor. I wouldn't be taking it to the track or driving crazy, but would be nice to know I have the power when needed. Thanks

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Increasing output always increases 'stress' as the cylinder pressure is more. If you want to minimise risk, keep the car stock.
      So far though this customer has done numerous track days and uses his car hard on a weekly basis with no issues.

    • @PapiAndrey
      @PapiAndrey 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t be worried at all, most turbocharged motors are overbuilt (especially anything from VAG) and it would be just fine.
      Like Regal Autosport said, there will be some more stress, but that’s expected and it’s nowhere near it’s limit

    Hi Ash, have a question, I have the same Cayman and had it tuned but my tuner which is pretty capable and a big name (meaning they know what they are doing) tuned it but the ecu/car won't let the turbo allow to have more then 1.5 bar, have you came across problems like this? On how much bar/psi is this Cayman making the power it has now? I'm Sven btw, bought the wavetrack from you guys for my rs3 8p which I l still have and is doing great, love the diff!
