Thank you for the video. I really appreciate it. I ordered this unit and cannot wait to receive it. Please do video/s long cooks, searing, burgers, small brisket. Thanks
I’m curious where you got all of this information. I just received mine. It didn’t come with a manual, just a short 2 minute assembly video that was shot on a cell phone and skipped steps. My hopper didn’t even fit together right, did you have the same problem? I couldn’t get the pins to line up. The screw holes on the bottom for the ash basket were also way too small. It is also frustrating how the lid will not open with the hopper installed if the screw for the latch on the left side is installed. I had the first version they made and really liked it until the temp control went wonky and I had to get rid of it.
Great review Darrin. Looks like a fantastic portable pellet grill. Really liked it. Chicken looked delicious. Chicken looked pretty juicy too. Have a great day Darrin
I got my asmoke. Didn’t test it yet. But one question I got - is the fan supposed to be on all the time? Even when the asmoke is off because mine is always on unless I pull the battery out.
Great video, great cook, and awesome smoker. I’d love to grab one for hunting and fishing. Our normal is a portable charcoal grill so something like this would be a nice change
@@SquirrelsLoveAcorns well, currently im sick. So there’s that, and I also have a life outside of social media I’ve been enjoying. The shorts are coming soon, like I said.
Great, informative video! This looks like it will be a solid portable option that would work great to bring along RVing I am looking forward to this being in full production & readily available to the public.
This is an excellent video. It's the first time anyone outside Asmoke have used this grill and it's the first time we've seen it for longer than 60seconds, you will have settled a lot of nerves from a lot of Kickstarters being ignored by Asmoke. Great job and I'm definitely a new subscriber to this channel
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m glad I could help settle some nerves. I understand how it is backing a new product, and having tested the first ever prototype, and now this production model, I can say they have put a lot of thought into this cooker. If my experience wasn’t a positive one, I wouldn’t have done this video. I’m not in the business of lying to my audience for a quick buck. You guys make all this happen for me, so thank you 🙏🏼
Can you also show a bit of the cleaning process after a few sessions? Like the ash tray? And where does the grease collect? Does the liquid tray really makes a difference?
@@djnaffie I covered where the grease trap is, as well as the ash tray. You pull it out and dump it, it’s that simple. I will be covering a lot of these questions on my Instagram as well, stay tuned.
Long smoke test would be awesome. Curious how long the unit will run at 225 degrees. As well, can you charge battery or hook up solar while using the unit? Thx.
Hi, thank you so much for this video, we've been waiting for it for a long time. I wanted to ask you, what do you think about the quality and durability of the metal in this smoker? It’s not clear if it’s sturdy enough or just a thin sheet of metal. My concern is that after a few uses, it might warp due to the heat. Thank
I think it’s as sturdy as any of the other ASMOKE cookers. I haven’t had an issue with the other two ASMOKE’s I own. Its definitely not the thickest metal, but I have zero concerns of warping. I hope this helps answer your question!
Thanks for the video - loved seeing the grill in use :) Qq regarding the chicken… do you just keep it chilled for use or freeze some of it for the later part of the week once cooked?
Thanks for watching! So I keep it in the refrigerator. I work 4/10s, so cooking it Sunday gets me through to Thursday lunch no problem. You’re welcome to freeze it if you so choose though!
@@SquirrelsLoveAcorns 100% I have multiple portable power packs that I could run this unit on indefinitely plugged in. I will say, the battery does charge quickly as well!
It would be helpful to test what size turkey can you smoke on it. I have the original ASMOKE and had to get a smaller bird, breast-only, and had to spatchcock it to fit it under the hood.
Apologies, last question from my side.. some ppl are complaining that the display seems to be lagging in this video (both via knobs and touchscreen).. what is your experience with that?
Complete transparency, there was a slight lag on the knob and the touchscreen at first, but it did seem to improve. My thoughts as the reason behind this is that the unit I have is not the final version of the software update that will be on all units shipped out. I'd be happy to reach out to ASMOKE to address this concern and get a response from them if you're interested.
@@AshKickinBBQ that would be great, if you could do that.. there are several comments on kickstarter about it, but so far Asmoke has adressed none of them... not really an issue for me, but others might want to know
Well, im glad i kept hoping for the video to arise before backing out prematurely. It is a gamble, it is $350 for the smoker, pellets and shipping, so i was hesitant, since briskit has an amazing model too, but too much to spend on with a good conscience. But i was liking the boxed size and removable hopper for road tripping, beaching, camping, boating and tailgating. The price point is acceptable, i probably wouldn't pay more for a smoker than this, it was already a stretch to not just get a smoketube for my weber. Please do that pork butt asap! And Dino Ribs!
