    I’m impressed. I think the size of pork butt was spot on for a camping pitch in.
    The extra battery option is a great idea.
    Dispersed/boon docking out here in the west, mean a a generator, solar panels or an inverter on your deep cycle batteries for power.
    And I wish I could bark like that.
    Good job.

    I have a Weber Kettle, a Pit Boss Pro Series 1600, and an Oklahoma Joe Bronco Pro drum. But myself and a couple of other guys have been looking for a grill for our dept. at work (paper mill). This looks to be a great option. Thanks for the good videos.

    My first pellet grill was the Pit Boss 1150S. I moved over to the Camp Chef Pro 24. That being said I love Pit Boss's Simplicity and price point. I think that are the best value for the price point. Love this for portability and when we travel

    My first smoke, which I still have from about 10 years ago, is a Masterbuilt Electric cabinet smoker. Temperature range is 110-275 degrees. With 9 other outdoor cookers I don't use it much anymore, except for holding my food. Like you said 150-155 is a perfect temperature to hold those protiens until you are ready to eat.

    Dang that is crazy that a little 6 pounder would take 14 hours. Smoking on my Weber it’s pretty much always taken about an hour per pound. Since I now have a fan controller on my kettle, I’ve found it easier to just run pork butt cooks overnight, then hold them on the warm setting at 160 in my oven until about lunch time or even dinner the next day. Works out great. Just did a 9.x pounder last weekend in 10 hours set at 265. The fan controller held it between 250-270 the whole time.

      sweet...i know those things get great reviews...im sure based on the Pit Boss Models I have had that the temp swings are huge...plus a butt like that in a space that small probably acts like ice cube for a few hours...and it was below 20 when we started...not fighting for it...but im sure those had some reasonings...

    Any thoughts on the Ninja Woodfire? I have one that I love for most things, but I feel that it suffers on the smoking aspect. It seems to work more like a convection oven, than a pellet smoker...

    So, what's the danger zone?

    • @PelletsandPits
      @PelletsandPits  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Bacteria grow most rapidly in the range of temperatures between 40 ° and 140 °F, doubling in number in as little as 20 minutes. This range of temperatures is often called the "Danger Zone." That's why the Meat and Poultry Hotline advises consumers to never leave food out of refrigeration over 2 hours

    For those that don’t have a Breville or similar (and for your oven holding at 190 when it should be 170) most newer ovens can be calibrated and this might possibly help some figure out how to get their “keep warm” setting slightly below 170. I think mine typically holds around 160. But here is a sample TH-cam video on calibrating an oven for those who need a starting point: m.th-cam.com/video/s8UdnR4Jw_g/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUkd2hpcmxwb29sIG92ZW4gY2FsaWJyYXRlIHRlbXBlcmF0dXJl
    My pitboss and my whirlpool oven have temp swings. My pitboss I was able to remedy to a certain extent but not my electric Whirlpool oven! I recently got a scratch and dent Memphis grill and that thing holds within 2 degrees no matter when I am cooking (I live in Minnesota and got it in December).
