You ignored some facts: - matchmaking just got overhauled recently. - Boom Beach has its own thing going on, no Boom Beach player would want walls because here you have flares to maneuver your troops(which are way better than walls that cost your life savings lol) - Boom Beach isn't p2w, like wtf? Its true, if you buy a pass then it's a great help, but its still better than the Cash Royale, and still not as p2w as Clash of Clans. Other than that, I respect your opinion. Its just sad that you didn't give the game another try so that at least you could've experienced the game's actual current status. Honestly the new matchmaker isn’t any better and still has some bugs. I am a level 48 player with 650 VP and I’m still getting level 75 and above players and, occasionally, puny level 30 and below players with barely any loot (obviously) Im barely getting any loot right now and my base progression has slowed down massively.
@@spysmocking4536 the reason you have to fight lvl 75 players is that your VP is high. The new matchmaking prioritises bases that have a level similar to your account, however there's a VP adjustment system: Your VP divided by 10 will be the level of bases that spawn on your map. Yes there are some bugs in the game right now, but once they will get fixed you will have to try to fight bases of level ~65. Or just decrease the amount of your VP with some strategies.

Well, the new dev team puts a lot of work into Boom Beach. It gets updated every 2-3 months. Also, they announced that they will release 4 more HQ levels within the next 2 years.

I'm still playing this game right now aaaaand luckily I'm almost at HQ 15 (or maybe not) but the fact is HQ 15 players are able to unlock the 3rd hero which is kinda interesting
Im not gonna lie I don’t particularly like boom beach but the equipment ability things are a fantastic addition compared to clash of clans. It’s my favorite aspect of the game. Being able to redirect your troops or damage specific buildings and recharge your equipment through destroying a base feels like a natural addition
The biggest reason why I stopped playing was how hard it was. It's much harder than clash of clans. I liked the game for a while but getting matched with people higher than me just made the game frustrating for me so I stopped. I wouldn't mind going back tbh if things changed drastically but I'm sure it's not going to.
It's because you got too many medals and therefore ranked way too high. The game basically punishes you for being an active player, but compared to clash of clans you can't just easily drop trophies and get in a lower league fast.
It can be that way for lower lvls but at higher lvls the game is defenseless, proto troops make the game trivial, even more so than root riders did in clash of clans

I used to be a die-hard Boom Beach player but quit 4-5 years ago. It wasn't because it was particularly boring; only that mobile gaming consumed too much of my leisure time. Therefore, I left the game "on good terms". It's sad to see activity has dwindled so much. I have to take issue with your criticism of the graphics/artwork. I've always thought the graphics were among the best on mobile gaming--I still do. The art style is quite superb, fun, and whimsical, and the game is highly polished, something players of Supercell games come to expect. The problem is most certainly not the artwork or style; that's one of its strong suits, even today. They need some big new ideas, maybe play modes, not a complete change.
i am boom beach active player and when i see some boom beach characters in squad busters i get some hope that boom beach will remain alive or it some players will play it wondering how heavy and tanks are in the main game
I played boom beach leisurely back in the day and even took years off from playing due to it being boring. I recently started actively playing again and have started to enjoy it again. Maxed my HQ26 now and hopefully they try to put in some more effort to keeping it alive.
Many players leave after trying unboosted Tmeds with Forlorn Hope, then gets booted from their raged task forces and starts a tantrum, often in TH-cam. The game is fine, lots of players still on it.
I’m still a long time player who’s always active. I share every single complaint about the game in this video and think it’s hard, but at least that’s what makes it fun for me. I would hate to see the game get shut down.

That is kinda the theme here, most of the fun is with the offense in the game, attacks are the most fun part (unless you use tanks only) I like to describe this game "tactical" compared to CoC being "strategic". The tactical aspect is more fun to me than the strategic and hence I actually like boom beach more

I agree with the premise, Supercell doesn’t care enough about Boom Beach. I have been playing 1.5 years and I am level 71 with 1,386 VP. I’ve taken out a lot of level 78-79 opponents. I am co-leader of my task force, which is nice. Clash of Clans got old (attacking takes time off your shield - WTF?) so I stopped, cold turkey.
Graphics? Boom beach has a really good looking “robust to advanced” graphical design, this militaristic style which employs a different approach to graphical design than CoC. But I think I can agree with the scenery which maybe some 3D but not too cartoony could boost the game in this aspect? Not exactly sure how that’d look tho
They are also releasing new skins including island skins through the new boom pass. It's not a lot but if the player is willing to purchase, they get more content
Boom beach made a come back for a month. But now, they don’t even put weekly deals in the shop any more. they even stopped doing the “this month on boom Beach” videos anymore 😢. Clash of clans is screwed too, the developers pandered too much to the top players rather than the people in the general public.
I am at 640~ VP and yeah I do get wrecked sometimes as an HQ 22 but it is not hard for me to almost instantly regain those resources and more due to having enough resource reward and a plenty of npc bases to instantly destroy

It's so bad that the better you do, the more impossible it gets. bc you can't pick your opponents (like coc legend league), you will get stuck no matter what. even in coc you can avoid legend league
Imo the best Supercell game out there. Clash Royale = p2w. Clash of Clans = waiting years for upgrades. Boom Beach has warships which is probably the only game mode in any Supercell game that‘s completely based on skill. It can be really rough in the mid HQ levels as you get matched against overleveled opponents but if you know about the game mechanics you can easily progress really fast. Always rush your HQ, only build red and purple statues and push offense really hard, ignore defense. Only attack other players when your builder is free. In the last year i managed to get my HQ 16 account up to HQ 22 and my offense is so strong i can basically beat any opponent. It‘s a lot of fun and recently the devs really improved the game by adding a new HQ level, experimenting with warships, adding a pass, adding skins, improving matchmaking and so on. The concept is great and i never got bored in the last year (was taking a multiple year break before though) whereas Clash of Clans bores me after a couple of days at most.
It is only 1 builder but at least the upgrades timers are only like 1.5 days at HQ 22 for example whereas CoC equivalent (that would be th13/14 where upgrades are like 9 days long. We even have boom pass now, you don't get much for f2p players but you still get free resources, including a free build token to get 1 one-time builder to work on any builder upgrade you want and classified items to skip one entire upgrade for either troops or buildings
@@Hagurmert hmm coc has 6 builders tho so in 9 days, 6 upgrades would be completed. while in boom beach, 6 upgrades would also be completed in 9 days as well making them effectively equivalent lol. i guess it's more of a psychological effect at play here. yea this also assumes you have the resources to start all 6 upgrades at once but this could be alleviated by staggering the upgrades, which should work out to have a similar efficiency. also, idk if at the higher levels of boom beach you always have the resources to keep your upgrades running non-stop. i think this has made me reconsider coming back tho lol

I do feel like there is still room for more updates within task forces (clan equivalent) and develop some sort of a clan war system. I actually thought of something in my mind that could potentially be very fun. Let me present it; You and your clan get to build your own massive operation base(s), using what you get from operations and/or other clan battles to improve your bases, make them more difficult to crack, expand more space and higher level defenses and prototypes and the task force who uses the least attacks/most damage (buildings destroyed) would win and earn high quality rewards for your task force and your home base. * There could be a few other ways to progress, maybe other things too and balanced matchmaking between task forces (either using total VP, total points of task force or total level of players) and match task forces of same size against each other when a task force is ready to fight other task forces with a click of a button. This is what I had in my head... It feels like a lot but instead of Gearheart generated bases, we get to make our own bases and battle others. This would put a higher emphasis on defense The addition of this would be nice but if they were to add other temporary events alongside this, that could be too many things, just like CoC

Me, I play both Clash of Clans and Boom Beach.
Imo the best Supercell game out there. Clash Royale = p2w. Clash of Clans = waiting years for upgrades. Boom Beach has warships which is probably the only game mode in any Supercell game that‘s completely based on skill. It can be really rough in the mid HQ levels as you get matched against overleveled opponents but if you know about the game mechanics you can easily progress really fast. Always rush your HQ, only build red and purple statues and push offense really hard, ignore defense. Only attack other players when your builder is free. In the last year i managed to get my HQ 16 account up to HQ 22 and my offense is so strong i can basically beat any opponent. It‘s a lot of fun and recently the devs really improved the game by adding a new HQ level, experimenting with warships, adding a pass, adding skins, improving matchmaking and so on. The concept is great and i never got bored in the last year (was taking a multiple year break before though) whereas Clash of Clans bores me after a couple of days at most.

I really loved Boom Beach but couldn't stick to it. The biggest issue for me was the single builder.
Single builder makes such a big difference, and such an easy fix to make

It is only 1 builder but at least the upgrades timers are only like 1.5 days at HQ 22 for example whereas CoC equivalent (that would be th13/14 where upgrades are like 9 days long.
We even have boom pass now, you don't get much for f2p players but you still get free resources, including a free build token to get 1 one-time builder to work on any builder upgrade you want and classified items to skip one entire upgrade for either troops or buildings
@@Hagurmert hmm coc has 6 builders tho so in 9 days, 6 upgrades would be completed. while in boom beach, 6 upgrades would also be completed in 9 days as well making them effectively equivalent lol. i guess it's more of a psychological effect at play here. yea this also assumes you have the resources to start all 6 upgrades at once but this could be alleviated by staggering the upgrades, which should work out to have a similar efficiency. also, idk if at the higher levels of boom beach you always have the resources to keep your upgrades running non-stop.
i think this has made me reconsider coming back tho lol

boom beach died due to not mainting the game after mega crab I wish they did not just quit after that for years and years and then dropped warships which was a joke

@@pankekitoBSops are kinda the equivalent to the clan capital (it plays the same role, given that clan capital works exactly the same way as ops in 3 different points). I do feel like there is still room for more updates within task forces (clan equivalent) and develop some sort of a clan war system.
I actually thought of something in my mind that could potentially be very fun. Let me present it;
You and your clan get to build your own massive operation base(s), using what you get from operations and/or other clan battles to improve your bases, make them more difficult to crack, expand more space and higher level defenses and prototypes and the task force who uses the least attacks/most damage (buildings destroyed) would win and earn high quality rewards for your task force and your home base. * There could be a few other ways to progress, maybe other things too and balanced matchmaking between task forces (either using total VP, total points of task force or total level of players) and match task forces of same size against each other when a task force is ready to fight other task forces with a click of a button.
This is what I had in my head... It feels like a lot but instead of Gearheart generated bases, we get to make our own bases and battle others. This would put a higher emphasis on defense
The addition of this would be nice but if they were to add other temporary events alongside this, that could be too many things, just like CoC

The graphics is the reason i never got into boom beach. It's not that I don't like simple graphics. I play games with ASCII graphics. It's just that the art style is bad
I mean the game wasn't supposed to be extremely high quality... They are trying out different quality with the skins but I don't expect much difference
