Asterism is one of my favorite discovery's on TH-cam ! The lead guitarist Hal-Ca is 15 in this performance , The bass player is 16 and the drummer is 18 ! Hal-Ca wrote this song when she was 12 =) I would recommend "Dawn" MV or "Church" MV Thanks - btw Band-Maid has some pretty awesome instrumentals as well check out "Onset" Official Live MV

Along with Band-Maid, Asterism is definitely on my bucket list to see live (I've been lucky enough to see The Maids live twice, but they're never coming off the list). Bassist Miyu, who plays a custom-made ESP 7-String, was 17 and his brother Mio on drums is the oldest of the three and was 18 at the time. Regarding Steve Vai, one of your colleagues here on YT has already put forward the theory that he must have a granddaughter who is Japanese and about Hal-Ca's age. 🤭 3 of perhaps the best young musicians out there in this genre, for whom alone it would be worth classifying it as criminal that they are still so relatively unknown after all these years. I can only highly recommend their songs 'Church' (Live In Studio) and probably their greatest masterpiece to date 'Dawn' (Live 2019/04/20). you are in for quite a treat ..... if you're a longtime fan of Satriani and Vai, then you've just found your new favorite band. this is actually (one of) the first song that Hal-ca wrote ... when she was 12yo (this vid was shot about 3 years later). if you want to get straight to the pinnacle of their work, you have to check _Dawn_ - the live performance is best (it's a fancam, but still pretty decent quality). _Church_ and/or _Gunfire_ are also really good (those 2 are off the same concept album). yes, that is one of her many Pacificas ; though she has recently gotten an ESP sponsorship, so of course her new custom ESP has _now_ become her go-to (which really just looks like a slicker version of her Pacificas ... girl knows what she likes). in addition to his 7-string, Miyu also has a 5-string as well as a 4-string _with whammy bar_ that get brought out for various songs. his current 7-st is a one-of-a-kind ESP (his original was an Ibanez , i suspect cuz they're the only ones who make a production 7-st). their origin story -- .... 2014, they all showed up to a talent competition , Mio and Miyu (brothers) were their own unit , and Hal-ca by herself. the guy running the show put them together and said they should be a single unit , and here we are. their first couple of EPs were some covers with a couple of originals. they've now got 4 LPs (the latest one being the only one with vocals ... it's not bad, but some are unhappy with the change 🤷♂).
