    that was pretty cool, looks like a future project some way down the line. Am about to do my adapted version of the DIY mitre 10 workbench - but it'll be made out of 2 layers of biscuit joined hardwood, top and bottom layers staggered.

    What if you want to do the same to the ceiling, do you do the ceiling first or the walls first?

    • @mitre10nz
      @mitre10nz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, you can start with the walls first

    Has anyone on here used or heard about Acoustiblok-Wallcover? I'd like to know if it would actually block TV noise coming from the neighbours who we share a common wall with

    Don't forget that alot of the sounds will travel through the floor boards

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lot of those sounds are impact vibrations, not air born. If you need to take care of those, you need to do the same for the floors. This method will take care of sounds from TV speakers and people talking etc, not if you have a Hi-Fi with Sub-woofer or people walking with shoes with heels etc.

      Hey Stuart, you'd be best to pop into your local store and have a chat with the team about this one. They'll be able to offer some advice about how best to get that done. ^Rhi

    I am planning to replace my drywall with this method. I assume the original casings will not be useable? As the door and window frames will be original width. Do you have to build up the width of the door jams and window frames or do you use a stepped casing??

    • @williamconstruction9907
      @williamconstruction9907 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You do not need to change the door jams you only need to work on the different type of the architrave.

    Bit overkill though isn' t it? just to cut down noise..most installations just use the dense insulation and gib noiseline which 99% of the time is sufficient.
