Now it's so bright I want that rawness and fear element in my siege games.... I don't really want that competitive feel everytime... I want that what old siege had... Ubisoft devs at least get back the night modes for custom and quick matches please.......
Old Maps where more realistic in architecture style. They felt like someone really used to live or work there. Combined with enviromental sounds and the old lightning they where just perfect.
I love that siege is complex. But man... watching this makes me yearn for simpler maps. Just imagine the buff ops like smoke would get vs nerf Solis would get from being on some of these maps. Or the potential for Intel to be more reaslitic again, eg less visual clarity but less places to flick and look too. More choke points and less endless circles in maps. God all these old themes playing while you roam the old maps makes me feel so old bro, FIVE YEARS AGO THEY REMWORKED HOUSE , 6 years ago was operation chimera and that was probably peak siege ever.
I don't see a problem with changing the map, what I hated was that they completely killed the atmosphere that the game had, each map had a different atmosphere, not to mention that playing at night was unique.
I want to thank you for bringing me back the feelings of seeing the game which i fell in love with years ago. This gave me tears. Feeling the nostalgic vibe of this game how it was when i enjoyed it the most. Thank you very much!
It’d be amazing if they added pre reworked maps into casual or even ranked lol so you could have the old version and new version which play very differently, but adds more variety and maps

The lights, the hell of a light were really beautiful. The settings were much more realistic and were able to fully immerse you in the game. Ubisoft, you were wrong.
Old maps were more atmospheric, in general....and nighttime brought out some of their personalities (like, I feel I could spend the night in Christmas Kafe). That said, I think there's a lot of rose tinted nostalgia here. A lot of these old maps just didn't make for good flow and you could easily get stuck if you played it wrong. A good philosophy would be to understand a good map as divided by 3x3 sectors, maybe 3x3x3 if you have three floors. It's why Coastline, Oregon, Bank, Kafe, Chalet are well liked. For future map designs, this needs to be understood so as to create flow but there also needs to be more attention towards atmosphere, too. It makes little sense to have all these cramped and boxed in areas like with the Consulate rework. There should also be room for large chambers and long hallways so that different strategies are needed. I think that would bring back some of the old feelings but without losing the balance of the reworks.
Last year i quit siege because of all the reworks i really tried to get used to the maps but never had the same fun. The nightmaps were great. I hate does new unrealistic maps

You’re not even wrong. Completely removing textures for a map that isn’t played saves on memory. Reworks reuse a lot of assets because Ubisoft wanted a 50Gb download for some reason
While I agree that visuals used to be better on the old maps, in terms of layout and design I definitely have to disagree that most of the old maps are better. Imo the only maps they absolutely ruined with the rework are House and Consulate. Especially have to disagree with Oregon and Chalet old versions being better. Oregon really didn't change that much as well and pretty much all of the changes were for the better, except the visuals again and changing the Tower bombsite was kind of unnecessary. Old Chalet though just felt unbearable to play with how unbalanced it was. Whilst visuals are nice, and night maps especially, overall gameplay is just more important imo, which is why I think pretty much all the reworks are better. Although I definitely wouldn't mind playing some of the old maps again, maybe in a separate playlist for just old maps.
