Lighting changes ruined the game for me. Bought it Christmas of 2015 bcs it was this cool 5v5 tactical game and it became so polished and generic to me. Lost its charm in like 2018-19
They REALLY need to add a classic game mode to the arcade playlist or something, something where all the ops who had acogs get those back and op reworks get reverted back to how they worked at release same with secondary gadget options and og pre reworked maps as well I feel like that would be one of the most popular game modes in the game

This game used to be so much fun. The ambient fog that filled the air, realistic weapon damage, the aged look of the textures, it all worked so well. Now it's more of a cartoon, focused on speed, and less on realism. I wish developers would stop changing what's already polished and refined, and let gamers enjoy a well put together title.
Exactly, the game looked tactical and fit the idea of the game. Breaching a room filled the surrounding area with smoke and debris making it hard to see. Guns looked realistic when they shot. Movement was fun and not clunky. Unfortunately the game got updated for the pro scene, and never the casual scene.

It's not the tactical shooter from 2015 anymore. It's an ESPORTS fps disaster, with high diamonds, emeralds, and champs practicing in casual, ruining the game for everyone else. So not quite sure where you get the "slower" aspect of the game from.
One I didn’t see mentioned was ela being able to drop a mine while downed. I remember seeing a play of this dude going down while the enemy was planting and he timed it to where the mine interrupted the plant and won the game

I remember all team camping on hereford map in kids room behind one of beds. Mobile shield + tachanka gun behind + kapkan + bandit with reinforced walls + lesion mines and all team hidden behind mobile shields. It was such a good time

The devs really missed the reworks hard on some maps, thinking adding more rooms means more flexibility, when it really just forces attackers to clear more. Clubhouse rework-undeniably an improvement all the way through. Kanal rework, i miss the old objs but the addition of skybridge literally doubles the ways of going accross the map and was needed. Kafe-they no doubt fixed alot upstairs but the basment obj is that much harder now, the old one was far better for attackers. Oregon was in actuality a total flop. The addition of elbow, and attic rework, seriously forcing the attackers into god awful sitations when approaching the 2 main objs, and theres like no cover for plants. House rework-uhm...why rework a beloved map to make it more competitive yet NOT put it into ranked, net loss. Themepark rework-added more rooms to clear and made throne, prossibly the most defender heavy obj in all of ranked. Skyscraper rework-expanded the inside AGAIN giving more flexibility for defenders and more for attackers to clear and remove their ability to cut off rotate from outside. Chalet-meh, it gives defenders more flexibility but also more they have to set up, 50/50. Favela-rework is way better than original, still not a great map. Border-actually did a decent job of not butchering the map and made it better. Consulate-traded spawn peaks for new run outs. Added more rooms and removed most long angles, making attackers lose their range advantage with ARs and making post plant that much harder to defender. Interesting objs, awful general flow of map and a total waste of work that could have fixed 7 other more problematic maps. Hereford base- a fun, broken map turned into an unfun, broken map, like jesus 4 floors of way too much to clear. That and WHY are they reworking maps that arent that problematic and NOT prioritizing the weakest ones, nor taking the beloved classics not in ranked, fixing them, and then returning them to ranked. Best reworks ever? The triple soft rework of bank, coastline and clubhouse. Only fixed issues and didnt try to break the map in the process. Didnt fix everything but at this point in the games life cycle, we have enough content, lets fix a few maps a little bit every season.
Oregon is awful. I remember the old map vividly, as I was that guy who punched a hole in the garage hall wall by the gift shop to try for a cheap kill. It never worked, but I still tried.

Old siege was kinda realistic and gritty. Wish we had story mode using that gritty cqb style. Now its polished and more oriented towards multiplayer mode.
Its worse. But it's a lot easier to see. Don't let the present fool you. In the past people were crying about the graphics and the lighting. You literally couldn't see in old seige.

Old favela will always have a special place in my heart. On a sunday morning with its bright sunny brazilian day. It feels so warm and sunny. Old kanal and chalet too with its gloomy and fuzzy nostalgic feeling. Old kafe with my most memorable kill with blackbeard through the kitchen window from outside idk why
My biggest achievement was still managing to destroy blackbeards old shield in a ranked match by unloading tachankas SASG-12 entire magazine into it, yet Blackbeard still lives and killed me
So much has changed. Sometimes you really forget how much. Some for worse but most of it was needed and for the better. It’s really unbelievable how polished and well rounded the game has become. But one thing bugs me. It’s way harder to have fun nowadays.
This takes me back to year 1 and early year 2 when 14 year old me bought this game and an xbox one, still plays this game from time to time 7 years later, it have changed alot over the years, but the basics are kind of the same wich i like. I remember the feeling playing a fun and new game, everyone was trying to learn and discover new ways to play and just have fun. Now it has became a very popular game, 8 years later. Time flies.
I’ve been playing siege since beta and a lot of people myself included got mad about some of the reworks but honestly they needed to be done looking at the old maps they seemed to small and to open for attackers and for this game to grow so much since then the game would be so unbalanced
I don’t understand this philosophy if a map is defender sided than that just means both teams need to win there defense rounds I remember some of the funnest games we’re going 0-3 on kafe/oregan than clutching up I suppose it does favor whoever gets defense first but I think some maps should be more attacker or defender friendly
it is weird this season, like defender has azami, melusi, and the new guy, all you need frag to deal with it, and very few attckers have frag these day

This game brought so much happiness and joy back in y1 y2 and I miss the fun I had yelling with my friends now they’ve all quit playing for years now and I sit alone ranked solo queueing rather than playing CASUAL with a 5 stack
Same. I stopped playing this game when they started adding all those changes, especially when they started reworking all the maps and even completely removing some others, I felt like the maps lost their essence.
Some things I miss in Rainbow i wish they would add back in --> select fire (going either full auto, burst, or single fire)...AK12 burst was 🔥 / night maps (mostly to prevent spawn peek from happening)...other than that, it's just beautiful / Bartlette University...I wished it was reworked and named it something different. Maybe like Bartlette Musuem or something. Something to benefit Flores' animated scene imo.
Hopefully someday we can get a classic siege limited event or something. maybe year 10 anniversary.. old maps, night maps, pre reworked ops just a nostalgia dump lol
Man I miss some of these changes, granted some were needed but man i miss the old maps. Crazy to think that Zof was the only op to withstand and yet now every defender with rook plates and Finka boost can do just that. There is one thing that probably no one will ever remember, but I do: Operators with the same weapon could take ammo from each other, since one of them is dead
I just don’t understand why they can’t let us play the old maps in casual if the problem is “they’re not competitive”. But they rework old maps bc it’s way easier than creating a new map. Ubisoft has gotten lazy, we used to get 2 new operators, both with their own set of new weapons, and a new map along w some seasonal camos. Now we get 1 op, no new weapons, and a reworked map w a “battle pass” it’s just sad to see the path Ubisoft went down w this game
I still miss hitting a single window in the sweet spot to instantly vault through. The way you could literally scare the death out of any single window into site is still unheard of to this day
2023 reworked consulate just feels like the old map designs which were all random walls and mazes like the old favella which I dislike. The map was notorious for spawn peeking which thankfully they fixed but the interior layout is awful, at this rate Id rather play the previous version... Also also bullet holes used to be a thing in seige thank god that was removed...
That was insane, but it having 10hp now is so much worse. It's a false sense of security and is pretty much useless. Most people don't even bother with it anymore.

@@DCDsauce But i still think that bb shield would be more balanced if it can tank atleast 2 shots. His big shield and slow move speed makes him easier to see when he is pushing and more often than not, the enemies are shooting first before you even see them.
If you even go back just 4 years ago to 2020 this game was so vastly different. We still had old house, most of the map reworks weren't out, and Vigil was like prime meta for ages. Every round there would be a vigi without fail and half them would spawn peak and die in 3 seconds. Most of the ops did not have an elite skin, I remember when Nomad and Kaid came in, I remember when Mozzie and Gridlock came in, it's wild how much things have changed since then. I took a 3 year break from 2021 until this year and it's almost like I have to relearn every little thing.
@michaelruiz0621 As far as we know, Ubisoft is going to take away hipfire from shields. The least they can do in return is buff up the ads speed to make it more worth trying to use ops like Fuze shield and Monty.

What this video shows is how far Ubisoft has gone to please the pro-league players. Was the game perfect? No. Did it need some of these changes? Perhaps. But most of the changes made were entirely superfluous.
Seeing those old maps again really makes you realize just how much time has passed as the game followed you through life. The new ones feel so normal now but the old ones are still so familiar.

Forget secure the area and hostage being taken out of the ranked mode, and the addition of map pool and map preference in the settings influencing the map you get "randomly"
Rainbow six siege is a prime example of having a really decent game right off the bat, but then due to some decisions they took everything that made the game the way it was back in the day, and changed every aspect of it, leaving all of us nostalgic for the days when people didn't try to fix what wasn't broken

Old Siege Pros: -Every game felt diffrent, maps were unbalanced and one sided which meant that you really had to adapt -Operators abilities were really important -Lightning and Night time maps just hit diffrent, again not balanced and in a heavy attacker favor -A hell of a lot bugs, some harmless and funny making the game more enjoyable and others a lot more harmfull and busting the game flow. -Everyone was new and there wasn't any jumps in terms of skill (After 50 hours) -Every gamemode in rankeds Old Siege Cons: -New players below 50 hours could be matched up with seasoned player -Busted ranking system that didnt work (Talking about you platinium) -Some operators were too busted with no counterplay (Everybody knows who i am thinking of) -Harmfull bugs, unlike funny ones theese ones break the game flow and are just... not good. -HAX New Siege Pros: -A lot more balanced -Amazing PVP -Very little hacks -Good competetive game -Less bugs (Tho still there are some) New Siege Cons: -Games too repetetive, most maps are even, no night time -Too focused on E-Sports. -Operator abilities dont matter as much anymore, its about gun, speed and sights -Not so memey :( -Sweat like trash or lose at higher MMR -The fucking ranking system!!! Some of the q Worst changes imo opinion and kind of new ones have been Mav, buck, finka, iq all losing nades. And one hit vault trick Titch drone on prep phase 30 twitch shots with 10 dmg was op, i remember killing people with that but it would have been better to have 5 shots that dont recharge and do 10 dmg. Mozzie losing the shorty was tough. But what hurts me was how good barb was 3 hits and the slow effect

The things I really miss the most is the old house map, basically all the maps before they got redesigned, the old campaign situations (I mean it's still there but the maps changed and all that, and the fonts and everything) the outbreak event, and recruit being in unranked, especially when you were able to 5 stack shield

I kinda miss the attachment purchases as well. My only use for renown is for buying packs that are always uncommon.
I remember buying all the laser sights and supressors since I had some spare Renown... Just a week or two before they became free.

That and WHY are they reworking maps that arent that problematic and NOT prioritizing the weakest ones, nor taking the beloved classics not in ranked, fixing them, and then returning them to ranked.
Best reworks ever? The triple soft rework of bank, coastline and clubhouse. Only fixed issues and didnt try to break the map in the process. Didnt fix everything but at this point in the games life cycle, we have enough content, lets fix a few maps a little bit every season.
Oregon is awful. I remember the old map vividly, as I was that guy who punched a hole in the garage hall wall by the gift shop to try for a cheap kill. It never worked, but I still tried.

Old siege was kinda realistic and gritty. Wish we had story mode using that gritty cqb style. Now its polished and more oriented towards multiplayer mode.

@@relax5367 I partly agree. Really old siege had that problem but they were rather quick to fix it. I'd say year 3/4 was when the game a very good balance of visibility and visual quality. After that it only got worse.

It feels surreal, i remember and dont remember in the same time. Tachankas rework feels like it was yesterday. I remember when chalet was reworked but i completely forgot how it looked before rework. I think its partially because when chalet was reworked i was new in game. On the other hand i dont remember kafe's rework at all. I started playing rainbow when warden came out and it feels like yesterday

Old kanal and chalet too with its gloomy and fuzzy nostalgic feeling. Old kafe with my most memorable kill with blackbeard through the kitchen window from outside idk why

My biggest achievement was still managing to destroy blackbeards old shield in a ranked match by unloading tachankas SASG-12 entire magazine into it, yet Blackbeard still lives and killed me
So much has changed. Sometimes you really forget how much. Some for worse but most of it was needed and for the better. It’s really unbelievable how polished and well rounded the game has become. But one thing bugs me. It’s way harder to have fun nowadays.

I miss finding a few random people to play realistic defending against the attackers of AI or attacking on Bartlett.
This takes me back to year 1 and early year 2 when 14 year old me bought this game and an xbox one, still plays this game from time to time 7 years later, it have changed alot over the years, but the basics are kind of the same wich i like. I remember the feeling playing a fun and new game, everyone was trying to learn and discover new ways to play and just have fun. Now it has became a very popular game, 8 years later. Time flies.
I’ve been playing siege since beta and a lot of people myself included got mad about some of the reworks but honestly they needed to be done looking at the old maps they seemed to small and to open for attackers and for this game to grow so much since then the game would be so unbalanced
I don’t understand this philosophy if a map is defender sided than that just means both teams need to win there defense rounds I remember some of the funnest games we’re going 0-3 on kafe/oregan than clutching up I suppose it does favor whoever gets defense first but I think some maps should be more attacker or defender friendly

This game brought so much happiness and joy back in y1 y2 and I miss the fun I had yelling with my friends now they’ve all quit playing for years now and I sit alone ranked solo queueing rather than playing CASUAL with a 5 stack
Same. I stopped playing this game when they started adding all those changes, especially when they started reworking all the maps and even completely removing some others, I felt like the maps lost their essence.
Spawn peaking with dachankuh turret was so op. They always peak it regardless of the shied. 😂
Some things I miss in Rainbow i wish they would add back in --> select fire (going either full auto, burst, or single fire)...AK12 burst was 🔥 / night maps (mostly to prevent spawn peek from happening)...other than that, it's just beautiful / Bartlette University...I wished it was reworked and named it something different. Maybe like Bartlette Musuem or something. Something to benefit Flores' animated scene imo.
Hopefully someday we can get a classic siege limited event or something. maybe year 10 anniversary.. old maps, night maps, pre reworked ops just a nostalgia dump lol

Crazy to think that Zof was the only op to withstand and yet now every defender with rook plates and Finka boost can do just that.

There is one thing that probably no one will ever remember, but I do: Operators with the same weapon could take ammo from each other, since one of them is dead
Another honorable mention could be that maps would have day/night on them. They honestly should bring that back.
I just don’t understand why they can’t let us play the old maps in casual if the problem is “they’re not competitive”. But they rework old maps bc it’s way easier than creating a new map. Ubisoft has gotten lazy, we used to get 2 new operators, both with their own set of new weapons, and a new map along w some seasonal camos. Now we get 1 op, no new weapons, and a reworked map w a “battle pass” it’s just sad to see the path Ubisoft went down w this game
To say they “cut the content in half” would be an understatement. We get less than 20% of the content we used to get every season

2023 reworked consulate just feels like the old map designs which were all random walls and mazes like the old favella which I dislike. The map was notorious for spawn peeking which thankfully they fixed but the interior layout is awful, at this rate Id rather play the previous version...
Also also bullet holes used to be a thing in seige thank god that was removed...

That was insane, but it having 10hp now is so much worse. It's a false sense of security and is pretty much useless. Most people don't even bother with it anymore.
@@GetDougDimmadomedIt was pretty balanced at 40 hp imo, but they nerfed his shield to 20 hp and the shield literally always breaks from one shot in medium ranges against all defender guns.

His big shield and slow move speed makes him easier to see when he is pushing and more often than not, the enemies are shooting first before you even see them.
And yet, the game was more fun and the community less toxic. RIP classic Siege.
For all the changes, the night maps and effects were timeless. Maybe now with next Gen consoles we can get back to that.

If you even go back just 4 years ago to 2020 this game was so vastly different. We still had old house, most of the map reworks weren't out, and Vigil was like prime meta for ages. Every round there would be a vigi without fail and half them would spawn peak and die in 3 seconds. Most of the ops did not have an elite skin, I remember when Nomad and Kaid came in, I remember when Mozzie and Gridlock came in, it's wild how much things have changed since then.
I took a 3 year break from 2021 until this year and it's almost like I have to relearn every little thing.
They should make a realistic PvE mode with the old maps

Bring Back T-hunt with bombers
and Jaeger 2 charge

@michaelruiz0621 As far as we know, Ubisoft is going to take away hipfire from shields. The least they can do in return is buff up the ads speed to make it more worth trying to use ops like Fuze shield and Monty.

What this video shows is how far Ubisoft has gone to please the pro-league players. Was the game perfect? No. Did it need some of these changes? Perhaps. But most of the changes made were entirely superfluous.
Seeing those old maps again really makes you realize just how much time has passed as the game followed you through life. The new ones feel so normal now but the old ones are still so familiar.
I miss year 3 so much.

Forget secure the area and hostage being taken out of the ranked mode, and the addition of map pool and map preference in the settings influencing the map you get "randomly"
Rainbow six siege is a prime example of having a really decent game right off the bat, but then due to some decisions they took everything that made the game the way it was back in the day, and changed every aspect of it, leaving all of us nostalgic for the days when people didn't try to fix what wasn't broken
I guess this could be an honorable mention but the game used to tell you if you had injured someone with a notification of “+50 injure” or something like that.

Old Siege Pros:
-Every game felt diffrent, maps were unbalanced and one sided which meant that you really had to adapt
-Operators abilities were really important
-Lightning and Night time maps just hit diffrent, again not balanced and in a heavy attacker favor
-A hell of a lot bugs, some harmless and funny making the game more enjoyable and others a lot more harmfull and busting the game flow.
-Everyone was new and there wasn't any jumps in terms of skill (After 50 hours)
-Every gamemode in rankeds
Old Siege Cons:
-New players below 50 hours could be matched up with seasoned player
-Busted ranking system that didnt work (Talking about you platinium)
-Some operators were too busted with no counterplay (Everybody knows who i am thinking of)
-Harmfull bugs, unlike funny ones theese ones break the game flow and are just... not good.
-HAX
New Siege Pros:
-A lot more balanced
-Amazing PVP
-Very little hacks
-Good competetive game
-Less bugs (Tho still there are some)
New Siege Cons:
-Games too repetetive, most maps are even, no night time
-Too focused on E-Sports.
-Operator abilities dont matter as much anymore, its about gun, speed and sights
-Not so memey :(

The things I really miss the most is the old house map, basically all the maps before they got redesigned, the old campaign situations (I mean it's still there but the maps changed and all that, and the fonts and everything) the outbreak event, and recruit being in unranked, especially when you were able to 5 stack shield
