What I was looking for was some way to Mirror > Knife > Rectangle, but, you didn't bring that up, so I will continue my search on how I can do what it is that I'm trying to do. I don't even know if I'm approaching what I want to do in the most expedient way. lol! There are SO many different ways to arrive at the same destination in Z-Brush.
all he did was put the cylinder through the rectangle with dynamesh and then hit crtl crtl drag twice and it made a hole ... what? :O for the life of me i cannot get the shape to make a hole. instead it welds it together. i have spent WEEKS trying to learn how to make a eye hole (for a mask) and zbrush has made this so hard. cinema 4d would of let have done this with such ease. with this being said , do u know what i could not be getting correct? video seems pretty straight forward
when you use the IMM brush to add the subtractive shape hold alt. This will create a shape that's inverted (it's normals are flipped) . Dynamesh treats inverted objects as subtractive when you re-dynamesh
Anyone else have their zbrush crash half the time when you use knife brushes? Really annoying because its such a great tool, but makes it pretty much unusable for me
@@oriricha they admit the knife brushes are unstable when using funky geometry. I think often zremeshing and deformation -> polish to prevent the knife tool working with too difficult geometry will help a bit. Less than ideal that it crashes though.
Thank you for showing all possible ways to create holes in mesh. Short and instant informations, I like it.
Pretty much all of Mike's lessons are like this 👌

Really useful tips, thank you!!
The b-radius tip is a big find, ta!
tnx man .
Figured this functionality would be coming.
I reckon we always hoped! Back in the clip days, the slice days, then the trim days 😂
Just wish we could set a depth with this tool and not cut all the way through!
you can mask through the mesh but defently would be a good addition if we could do that saves us a time indeed!

hold alt when youre drawing the imm to inverse it

@@asdfghjklmnop850 nope bought perpetual license before Maxon gets a chance to gouge
same here. Crashes every time after two or three cuts. Maybe I need to wait a bit between cuts? 🤔

trim lasso vs knife lasso what is the difference?
how it closes holes is probably the biggest difference: th-cam.com/video/AcreT1bqukw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9IfxZTakt6rpocEl&t=137
Does it work with mask?
Does anybody know the difference between slice and knife?
Slice will only slice geometry, knife slices, deletes, and fills holes
@@MichaelPavlovich Thank you very much. You are the best teacher. 🙏
