Came here after watching an #AskZbrush video titled, "How Do I Create My Own Pattern Brush in ZBrush?" did not, in fact, teach me how to create a pattern brush. Thank you again for being so thorough explaining and demonstrating your methods so clearly. Excited to texture my model tomorrow, this video is incredibly helpful!

couldn't get the local projection to work with noise plug or alpha. Only standard noise. Even the Brush Pattern 2 seems broken. Without an alpha the noise comes out distorted. All brushes reset before every test
hi I am trying to apply texture to an OBJ (box), texture is working fine but its been applied on both side of the box like mirror, can you guide what im doing wrong here
The brush alphas will overlap, but this noise is tiled across the mesh so you won't add noise on top of noise with repeated strokes over an area. There were ways of doing this before but this is more intuitive.
when loading a custom alpha, and you adjusted the scale and intensity, etc. Is there no way to apply the projection to the mesh? Do you always have to use a brush?
Where is that Alpha button bro? In the noise plugin? Surface>Noise>Edit ? Still I do not understand....... Pl. teach us in your next tutorial on "Pattern01 Brush" Bro.

I have really appreciated the noise brush to sometimes just break up smooth surfaces a bit.
i cannot find this function in zbrush 2024. is it no longer there?

No you don't. You can use Surface Noise plugin or use Alpha with Drag Rect stroke to apply any pattern to whole surface at once

Click Alpha On/Off in the lower left hand corner to import your own custom alpha design
