Another reason why the weathering would be more apparent with Rex is that his armor is also older than the other clones. When all the others went to phase 2 armor Rex kept his phase 1 and modified it!

I ordered mine in July from Sideshow and just got an email saying that it might ship in December instead of October, hope that is not the case. But after seeing this and other people’s in hand shots of him I am super hyped to get him and have him with my Cody and 501st trooper. Side note, Cody did come with the DC17 blaster pistols that Rex has.
Same for me.. I hope it will ship soon ^^'
I ordered day one, and got the same email. It just says there’s a chance he can ship in October, but he’ll ship between October and December. The window only increased by a month. It was October-Nov before the emails
@@aqwblue275 Captain Rex was suppose to be my only hot toys, but I finally bought a 501st deluxe. But it was not enough, so I found a brand new hot toys commander cody for about 380 USD on a Canadian website (tax and shipping included) I don't know if it was a good deal, but i'm happy with it. So yeah, i'm pretty exited for Rex also :D
@@canadium1478 that’s a great price for a cody. Rex was my first hot toys figure ever as well. He was the first figure I ever ordered and paid for. Been waiting for him to ship since his announcement. Ironically since then I’ve built up a massive collection and I love every figure I have. So for me rex will be the crown jewel the reason I got into this hobby and most likely the last figure standing if I ever left the hobby.
It is in fact the case. When these figures get released in Hong Kong, Sideshow usually gets them 1-2 months later. So November-December sounds about right.
I really like that they went with a realistic sculpt for the Clone Wars clones and the Bad Batch.
That shot with Rex in the front and the 8 troopers in the back was EPIC! I don't even watch/collect Star Wars, but DAMN! Magnificent.

I bought one for myself and one as a Christmas gift so as long as it arrives before then it’s fine. I have only things I dislike about it are the helmet, pauldron, and the lack of a dc-15a blaster rifle. Someone on Instagram designed realistic version of his helmet and it’s simply better looking. And those poses at the end were so, perfect.

I got mine last week. Overall, it's great, but I have a few gripes. I wish the holsters didn't dangle so loosely, and that the pistols secured into place (rather than just relying on gravity to keep them in the holsters). Also, that shoulder pauldron limits the articulation of his left shoulder and head. Would have been nice if it was made of a slightly pliable material. Finally, the skintone of the headsculpt is a little light (although I suppose he might be palid from wearing a helmet all the time), and his hair colour is a bit too subtle. (And yes, the collapsible stock on his blaster is too loose.)

The dirty rex armour is super nice looking, and accurate to the show too, rewatch the last couple episodes of the clone wars and you'll see it clearly

As someone who doesn’t collect 1/6 scale figs and watches Jedah’s vids because he’s entertaining, this figure is so so so tempting. I love clone wars and Rex in particular but I don’t have the budget for hot toys. If I had the cash, he would be in my collection pretty quickly

Do you have any suggestions besides paying 60 Australian dollars on eBay for a replacement. Is there a type of glue that you can use? Any help would be awesome, thanks for your time.

I briefly considered getting more than one trooper, but settled for one, plus Rex and Ahsoka. I don't think I can justify more than $750 since I haven't even seen Season 7!

I can not wait to get mine from TW when 2nd batch releases! Dear Lord! That battalion pic looks amazing! I'm definitely going to my local store today and getting at least one 501 Clone Trooper standard releases figure. Unfortunately I missed the deluxe version at my store. The owner only buys a case of each figure and someone bought four of them upon receiving them but at least he now has a case of the standard release 😁

I finally decided to order this. Too good to pass up. Won’t really go down the Clone Wars route but might get some of the Commanders/Officers. Do you think they will do say a Wolffe, Fox, Bly etc?

Have him on pre order. I’d rather the whiter cleaner look on Rex as they did on Cody. Would have looked more uniform with the Hot Toys 501st figure. He looks too green on the white part of his armour. I think they went too far with the weathering. Nonetheless am stoked to be getting him.
Tbf Rex has been on many missions, he’s seen a lot of combat.
Some of the reg 501st are clean in between and get dirty on the missions.

Personally don't like the color difference between him and the standard 501st clones. Makes him stand out in a bad way. But this video did not disappoint, still happy I ordered him and cant wait to get him.

Hey Jedha that stock used to be like that, its not to go back for the shoulder if you know what i mean... its supposed to be that way, like a real sniper rifle..to stabilize the blaster when its standing on the ground- i think✌😁

I don't think it is figure of the year contender. The head sculpt is phenomenal, and I think that it makes the price almost worth it. I think the armour sculpt looks great too. The paint apps on the arms and shoulders don't really make sense though? Why are there 2 stripes either side of the main stripe? In no media anywhere ever has rex been depicted as such. Also, if you're going to make the helmet look realistic, why does the top half not look anything like a Phase 1 helmet? it looks to be a mix of animated and realistic, which for some reason, really grinds my gears. Like, pick one. And then the paint apps on the pauldron look off too, like, the blue extends away from the raised areas, I think the black should be painted all the way to the raised areas of the pauldron (lol dunno if that makes sense.
That makes it sound like I have various problems with the figure. I think on the whole, I like it, but there are just enough problems for me to say, unfortunately, no, it is not figure of the year :( I think that could actually go to the Coruscant guard. It looks utterly phenomenal, and completely ROTS screen accurate.

An animated head on that body wouldn’t work simply because the armor in the animated show is completely different
It’s not a foldable stock on the blaster, isn’t it supposed to be a bipod?
It's a stock. There's a couple instances where its folded back in The Clone Wars.

Really strange. My Cody is no where near as white as yours is. The weathering on mine is considerably darker

Wow! What a cool figure. Can't wait for mine to arrive from SSC. I got the dreaded "December" email as well.
Mine arrived today. I think overall it's a good figure, but then Hot Toys doesn't really do bad ones. Is it a contender for figure of the year? The face sculpt is superb, yes. But the figure itself isn't perfect. My main issue is the total lack of weathering on the black tunic, which is pretty jarring when compared to the armour. If you look at the promo shots (for example, the one of him using the jet pack on the side of the box) the material looks quite a lot dirtier. Equally, there's no weathering on the pouch you can magnetically attach to Rex's chest, but there is on the earlier photographs. Also, I'm not quite sure I understand why Rex's armour is so different in colour from the recently released 501st troopers (I haven't been able to find any examples of this being the case during the show) and it's noticeable, in a bad way, when the figures are placed side by side (which is quite disappointing). While by no means ruining my enjoyment of the figure, these issues do - in my opinion at least - hold Rex back from being a 'great' release

Rex arrived for me the other day and while I think the figure is brilliant, there is one glaring issue that takes away from it and nobody seems to be mentioning it, not the reviewers nor the commenters. His head sculpt basically cuts half his bottom head off and it looks so jarring and obvious when on the body.
Because it's nothing new with Hot Toys. Just look at their Spider-Man figures.
Dont forget to grab light side revenge of the sith anakin and pose him with 501st and Rex for the pre-revenge of the sith scene: battle of yerbana in season 7. ;)
