Opened mine too. Honestly to me this figure feels a bit rushed. My feet/ ankle joints had a issue, feet seem really loose and pop off easily. I honestly think the HotToys New Hope Stormtroopers were made better.
I'm bummed I wasn't able to get into collecting these amazing figurines until last year. I would have loved to have gotten Echo and Fives way back when, but I did manage to get a Rex and just pre-ordered Hunter and Bad Batch Echo. I can't wait!
This is freakin epic Jedha. The Anakin pose by far was the most epic out of the 3 you did. I do have 3 coming. . I think watching the poses and pairing up with other Hot Toys really made me want to get more. The range of display ideas, the different helmets, an epic season 7, the new Ahsoka series, your excitement, your posing, I am planning on getting a variety of Clone Wars Hot Toys. Will getting more deluxe troopers make sense to what I am planning and be justified? Absolutely.
That aside. Its a Hot Toys figure. The quality, the accessories, the options to pair with other figures, the articulation, its 1/6th. I think for any fan of Star Wars Clone Wars that this Trooper by Hot Toys would be a great addition to the collection if its in the budget.
I think the phase 1 definitely looks better in person, it might be a little bit big, could be how the shoulder pads look on p1 Cody tho…I think it looks fantastic tho! The trigger hand works great as a holding hand for the rotary blaster but I do agree they dropped the ball with no trigger hand for that weapon. I’m getting 2 more, one from Stephen’s collectibles and one from alter ego. 9/10
Your Cody pointing pose is right out of the Genndy CW cartoon great job capturing that vibe! The missing troopers will fill out the army building perfectly!
I did get 2 deluxe 501st troopers might get another one so ill have 3 and rex alone with cody that I'm buying for $350 from a fellow patrol member on friday. Im honestly excited
I just got my 501st today. I have him posed flying with the jetpack and the Z-6 rotary blaster cannon, but now I'm thinking about getting another one to put with Ahsoka. Love the video; keep them coming.

The smaller shoulder armor looks a lot more practical. I think a lot of US armor art designs are based on bulky football shoulder pads and always look pretty impractical but whatevs. In reality you would want armor that's light and of the way. If the whole suit had a bulkier design I would imagine bigger shoulder pauldrons would be the way to go.
However much I WANT to buy an army of these boys, I'll probably end up getting a couple, along with Rex and Ahsoka. That Rotary Blaster is gonna go on my Yoda figure, my Yoda has been holding the T-800's Minigun from Hot Toys DX-10 figure for years! Image is my avatar!

If you do a posing tutorial you should try using the blaster pistols that came with Cody. I think you could get some sick aerial poses with the rocket launcher.
Great video as always. For me the phase 1 helmet is not oversized it is a perfect representation of a persons head inside of a helmet. It is the rest of the body armor that is undersized it looks like a super skinny person is in there.
I think it's definitely the shoulder armour throwing it off. The main reason I bought this was for the Phase 1 helmet which is my favorite trooper helmet from the entire Saga episodes 1 through 6. In the movie they do look a bit slimmer Maybe it might be possible it's a little wider in the Clone Wars. But at least the 501st looks completely accurate to the movie. I'm praying they do in Attack of the Clones clone trooper. But I've seen the phase one and a lot of poses and it looks absolutely fine could just be the eyes Playing Tricks on you it's hard to tell I cannot wait to get mine in hand. I think either way it looks Kick-Ass

There's one thing I've noticed on a site I don't know if you heard of it called Justin's collection and in that video you can actually make the top of the jetpack blasting out of the bottom half of the jetpack by taking the little pointy pot off and using one of the flame effects fitting into the bottom of the Top Pot and then the bottom part slides right into the bottom part of the jetpack. I'll probably be displaying mine with the phase one helmet simply because I absolutely love it despite it looking slightly bigger I still think it looks incredible. Like I said that was the main reason for me to buy this one and I hope Sideshow gets it in soon. Unfortunately I can't afford a shit ton of these so I only have the one coming and the shock trooper coming I absolutely love the paint apps of the shock trooper the 501st are very close second. I'm sure I'll still be able to do some cool poses with the two different clones I have Anakin got to have the chosen one so I'm looking forward to seeing what I could do when I get these two clones but I mainly bought this one to get a phase 1 clone until they do an attack of the Clones clone trooper in the shock trooper the represent the episode 3 Clone Trooper but I know I'll be switching up the heads cuz I can't stop playing with these things once I get them that's half the fun of owning them. I definitely like your first pose best when they were saving the other Clone. I wish I could afford more. I'd still like to re buy back the sideshow one's ahead the white veteran and the 501st but they go for a pretty penny on the secondary Market. But I got a total of six figures on pre-order and paid off. This one the shock trooper, Clone Wars Maul, the good General, Jango Fett and the tusken Raider. If I happen to come into a little extra money I'll definitely pick up another one of these.

Really looking forward to getting mine. Fantastic release. Great paint, weathering and impressive articulation for an armoured figure. I was planning on using the phase 1 helmet. I love the design of them. I agree, sadly the phase 1 helmet is oversized in this release and in my opinion looks ridiculous on the figure. If they ever do a AOTC Clone Trooper I hope they resize it. Good thing this release comes with a really well done phase 2 helmet I can use instead. That's my only major gripe. The typo on the base plate will definitely bug me (though to be fair, I'm now thinking I won't use bases, to maximise the posing opportunities for a group of clones) but overall it's a great release. Some awesome poses at the end of the vid (my favourite is the battle scene including Cody and the droid)

I wonder if next batch will have the Phase 1 helmet repainted, as it is not accurate to the show. I dunno how they made a booboo like this, since they had the source material, but just decided to paint them the same way Phase 2 helmet was.

The flat droid popper was a thermal detonator that you place down like C-4 but there is a thermal detonator that you throw like a droid popper as well
