    You need to add the sugar, salt and grounded pepper that shown into the pot before the beef. Lily didn’t put that in, 5 tablespoons of salt and 6 tablespoons of salt, adjust the flavor according to the size of your pot.

    Your recipe is similar to mine, except I don’t use galanga, I use ginger and preserved dry turnip also. I don’t use chi neargvong. I use sawtooth mint, green onion and cilantro for garnishes. Vietnamese pho uses a lot of seasoning and chi neargvon. I like the Cambodian version better. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

      It’s really cool to know the pronunciation for them in the three languages is so similar, but for Vietnamese we either eat it like this or dry. Do Cambodian eat Kuy Teav with that option?

    • @neozeon2567
      @neozeon2567 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tl9585 Cambodian eat it dry with the soup on the side or the noodle within the soup

  • @canuck21

    Please don't call this phở if it's not phở. Kuyteav is a completely different noodle soup. It's hủ tiếu in Vietnamese. Words of advice. If you want foreigners to be introduced to your cuisine, don't be afraid to use the real dish's name. Make them remember the name kuyteav. Why dilute it by calling it Cambodian pho which I've often seen used? Plus, it confuses people's making them think it's the same soup but with just minor differences.

    It’s a pity you don’t use real spices instead of Pho cubes.

      Yes, meatballs we bought from the store here...Asian meatballs ( meatballs made from pork or beef- not the American meatballs that you put in spaghetti).

      I find this more bland than pho. I like this dish, but it is nowhere as good as pho IMO. To each their own.
