- Nom Banh Chok is a Cambodian style fish and herb curry noodle soup. This earthy and medicinal tasting curry is packed with lots of aromatics. All of the traditional toppings add a lot of flavor, fragrance, and texture to each bite. Nom Banh Chok is easily my favorite Cambodian dish.

Hi, my parents are cambodian. My mom makes this noodle recipe, because it's my favourite one. I tried to learn from my mom, but I don't have a big memory in cooking. Your video is a support cooking for me🙏.
That is one of the main reasons why I make these videos, to preserve and share the delicious food of Southeast Asia! Thank you for watching!
This is lo fi + soothing voice over + Khmer food!!! ❤❤❤
You've made this incredibly pleasing to watch. My in-laws are Khmer & I remember the first time I ever had this was an overwhelming trip for the tongue - I've since had the pleasure of preparing it. Just making kroeung has you realizing how much goes into preparing Khmer food; I suppose that's why we make big batches of it because it's the base of sooo many dishes. This was incredible. You made it look so yummy & my favourite version is the one with chicken in it [fresh mint from the garden is always a plus]. If you ever want to learn a culture & language, take a trip through the food. It's an incredible experience!
Thank you for taking the time to watch it. This dish is also special to me and I'm happy to share its preparation. I agree that the best way to learn about one's culture is to dive into the cuisine.
OMG. Thank you. I’ve been looking for a good recipe for this dish. This is the full ingredients, process, and presentation I’m familiar with growing up. Not the sloppiness and flavorless dish I’ve had in restaurants. Now i know the name of this dish. I clicked on the recommendation cause of the yummy looking thumbnail. Thank you!
I stan a left-handed king.
Your videos are outstanding, beautifully shot, well-edited and informative. Keep doing what you do!

So gooood!
Thank you 😁
Your video and cooking are so relaxing, love the environment.
Thank you so much!
My friend in high school was part Cambodian. This was one of my favorite foods to eat. Many years later I made it however instead of having that burst of refreshing flavor it was more mild. Maybe now that more versions of this recipe are available I'll be able to find an equivalent from that time 😀
Thanks so much bong for sharing the video 😊
Amazing, never cook for a very long time 😊
That’s my favourite ❤️
Thank you for watching !
Very good cooking👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you 😊
🙏 VERY GOOD
I followed you with both of my account to support you ! You are litteraly the best cambodian TH-cam channel about cooking!
Thank you so much for your support 🙏
I’m a big fan of lefties. Lol when you strain your noodles.. squeeze in in your palm .. more water comes out and your noodle will dry faster :) love your videos keep it up Paon!
My favorite cambodian dish. Yummy 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋
One of mine too!
@@ThunThunChannel yes .. you made them look so good . 👍
@@jessicadang9648 thank you!
Thank you for this! About how many people will this recipe serve?
Oooh, banana leaves, I know where to get them now! But yardlong beans and banana blossom... You always keep me striving.
👍
Thank you for watching 😊 Asian stores should carry the yardong beans but regular green beans will work fine in this recipe too. If you have a Southeast Asian store near you, like a Thai, Lao, or Cambodian store, they will most likely sell the banana blossoms. Otherwise you can substitute with other crunchy vegetables too. Have a great weekend!
@@ThunThunChannel thank you so much! Have a peaceful and productive week!
@@carbine090909 Thank you, you too!
❤❤

I don't kno ab. 'herbal, mediciney quality' tho, can I skip that😬😁
Thank you Anna! I wish you all good things in the new year as well; This year's been a busy one but I'm so grateful to be able to share my love of food and plants with everyone. I'm happy that these videos can provide some peace and calm 😊
Yes, you sure can skip the herbal and medicinal qualities 😁 it's certainly a strong flavor and not for everyone. Who knows you, might like it. Have a great week!
This looks epic! It reminds me of a type of Medan Laksa dish that is very fragrant, not the oily type that's drowned in heavy coconut milk.
It's one of my favorite noodles dishes lots of herbs and textures in here. have a good weekend!
@@ThunThunChannel there're different types of fish sauses and coconut cans. Some people like to look at what fish sause did you use. It's okay, I hope you enjoy your weekend too.
@@sovyc977 That's true. I used the squid brand fish sauce and aroy d coconut milk that comes in a green carton. Thank you for the tip. Have a great week!
Thank you so much for this video, I moved away from my parents to stay with my husband and have zero cooking skills. I missed eating this at home and I am going to try this!!
I hope you enjoy it 😊
What do I think about this toppings platter? I think I wish I could have teeth. I don't know what crunch is,, but I want to.
I am Montagnard Jarai indigenous love to eat
I love to eat too!
Mmmm last time I ate this with a huge steam fish steak on top 🤤
That sounds good!
I did well thank you for sharing this recipe
U have a lot of toppings n still u think there are more than this ?? Anyway I skipped the fish paste part I don't like the smell
My favorite dish 🥰 thank you for this video! Folks make sure you like and subscribe, he deserves so many more subscribers!
One of mine too. Thank you so much for your support!
I was thinking about making this but I can’t find the noodles 🍜
Your local Asian grocery store will carry it. I know Amazon website also carries it. Thank you for watching!
Haven’t had this since my mom passed away😢
Kinda crazy that I cannot find that mud fish sauce anywhere in Thailand. We are so close and can't find key ingredients!
It’s called Pla Ra in Thai, which can be found in most markets. This will be the mud fish sauce equivalent.
I'm Cambodian too but if you're teaching other people, you should show the ingredients. Some people want exact ingredients. I miss eating this, haven't made it over years. It looks yummy. Great video.
Thank you. The ingredients are in the video and also the full list is in the description area of this video. Please enjoy.
My mom asked me to make it but I forgot and if she found out that I did, she will kick my ass so thank you
Videos are too slow… need to get to the point already.
This is not like other cooking channels. If you’re looking for something faster, watch TH-cam shorts or TikTok
It is recommended to slice the banana blossoms *SUPER THIN*, because it's a little bit tough, and will just taste better.
