The rag tag group of rebels have an extremely well developed social healthcare program
The Vortigaunts, probably.
Ant-Lion husbandry was an ancestral practice of the Vortigaunts, so they probably know how to farm their healing goo stuff efficiently. Medkits are probably just metal boxes with some of that goo inside, judging by the rest of the Resistance's technology.
Sussy bakas like Barney who are in City Protection ranks might steal combine supplies. That's why we see many rebels with MP7(CP uses MP7). AR2 is issued to overwatch soldiers and they are harder to kill so it's harder to find AR2 in rebel ranks.

G-Man might be intrigued of a Reality hoping data collecting agency who's goal is mearly exploration of other realities that's been successful. He be more a observer rather than interfering.
My concern is the Combine.
Although a certain Necron may not enjoy having what potentially is the greatest collection of data and information in the verse suddenly be threatened. He might actually defend the Institute.

@@xcvdffdf The Combine are a odd civilization as we don't exactly know the full size of the civilization. They however don't seem to be space faring. At most the Combine are inter-dimensional. They came from a world that may or may not have been a version of Earth or a world from another dimension tearing portals or finding natural or artificial portals to scout then invade. Once they subjugate a world they exploit it taking anything useful to expand the empire and to incorporate into its army. They then usually use the technology of a technologically advanced world they conquer to pacify the population which is a very smart tactic as it allows your more advanced tech to be in reserve or use in other endeavors. From what we've seen of true Combine Tech it appears they are quite advanced in energy, cybernetics, and at organic or synth technology possibly in metallurgy as well given the Citidal and the higher calibur weapons they have as there reign on Earth began to fall, and these were likely the lower range of there high tech capabilities. The energy balls they have for example can vaporise organic matter as a molecular level so clearly they might have tech capable of hurting the Necrons. Then again so does the IOM. However human tech which froze around the early 2000s appears to be capable of hurting and outright destroying Combine Tech and we also have to remember that the 7 hour war in Half-Life was not simply because of the Combine invading but due to the fact Earth was undergoing fallout from the Black Mesa Incident which had portals popping up earth wide so it was chaos worldwide. So a earth that was stable not suffering could or might have been able to resist the combine. Even if only for a couple days or months.
I suspect that the Necron like can resist and defeat the Combine. Or make any combat with the miserable.

It probably went from "IMF executive arrested due to accusations of proxenetism" or "IPCC report : new drastic measures proposed to avoid going over +2°C", straight to "EARTH SURRENDERS".
Nah the newspapers slowly shifted to apocalyptic they couldn't have just made that leap, Several months before the invasion began the black Mesa incident caused small but fast growing number of alien wildlife to tp to Earth, by the time combine arrived most of the world was infested with aliens.

The Portal Storms had been going on for a bit by the time the Combine Invaded, but still implied that there were only a few days / a week between the Resonance Cascade and the 7 Hour War. In less then a week the World turned upside down.

I just realized something.
The Combine and the G-Man are universe jumping entities.
Meaning they can hop to new realities if they so choose although G-Man seems to do it with the grace of a Q
Which means. They might be able to tell if someone like those from the institute could potentially cross into a nearby verse.

The resistance was successful, and managed to overthrow the dictators because they were determined, and in the guy who is in the right place at the right time, proved improved to the challenge. He was successful. I have to hope.
don't forget one thing, they landed on a world that always been at war with itself and face almost every kind of warfare possible. the other side just had more numbers and better tech. but now they may have numbers but the tech level is = to each other, meaning it all come down to skill and a race that's always been at war will win out.
As a bonus, Gman is quite literally giving The Resistance and especially Gordon and now Alyx plot armor.

A resistance's determination doesn't always mean success. Look no further at what happened to the Syrian Opposition and YPG in Syria or the PIRA during the Troubles or even the ETA during the Basque Conflict. All of them were determined to defeat their governments but failed in their goals (some had to meet half-way).
Considering that the Combine is a multidimensional empire, I don't have high hopes for the Resistance in the long term.
@@imgvillasrc1608 The combine portal has closed. Unless there was another portal storm, Humanity and their Vortigaunt allies can bounce back. Especially with the current C17/White Base leadership. The only issue is time.

Nah he isn't a member of the Institute. G-Man well intrigued and likely would infiltrate the institute likely wouldn't be a member. He is already employed and his employer is not someone that just explores and collects data.
Hell its likely G-Man is connected to the SCP foundation.
By virtue of having fronted the first broadcast for the Resistance after the destruction of the Citadel it seems like Isaac Kleiner is now the public face of the new independent Earth, at least as far as the general population is concerned. Despite claiming not to be a public speaker, we know Kleiner was at one point (perhaps prior to his confidential work with Black Mesa) known to the public, appearing on the front cover of 'Popular Scientist' (this world's 'Popular Science'?) and having written 'From Here to There in Under a Second' which appears to be an explainer on teleportation written for a general audience. Eli Vance also seems like an important figure on the logistical side as well as being an inventor, as Breen boasts that with both him and Freeman in his possession he can dictate terms to the Combine. We also see Arne Magnusson as a key leader of the White Forest group. There's also attempts to found free human settlements like New Little Odessa (possibly named for its leader Odessa Cubbage) which are also part of the general resistance effort.
I always liked the oc stuff made for the Resistance. Dudes lugging around m16s and wearing Vietnam era armor was always fun
Yeah I believe the conscripts inspired the Vietnamese war style alot of people go with when drawing or making resistance models or drawings.

Half life alyx is set before half life 2, and is a fantastic game as well. But it is a VR title, which limits accessibility for a lot of people

Well this is the company that thought it was a good idea to release like 300 different Steam Machine consoles. No telling what’s going through Gabe’s head.
The people at Valve are perfectionists and promised too much with this game. It was in development a bunch of times and was scrapped every time. So now we have a situation where hype for the game got too high and the game proved to be too ambitious, so they can't ever release it because the expectations are too high.
I think if they ever make HL3 it would either not be called that (due to the hype that title carried) or it would come out but in like 15 years when they feel it's ready

Valve devs worked on many prototypes for HL3 but all of them got cancelled due to company politics. They also worked on many unreleased games such as "Stars of Blood/Barathrum(space pirate game)", L4D3(it was going to be open world and set in Morocco) and a voxel sandbox game called A.R.T.I
There were going to be 3 Half-Life games developed by other companies too. One was developed by Arkane Studios and it took place in Ravenholm. The management people in Valve cancelled those too :(

Haven't played Half Life but unconditionally surrendering in that situation was pretty much treason/betrayal.
Without protagonist plot armour; it would have just been consenting to a slower but more efficient extermination/extraction.
half-life and half-life 2 are two games i would advise anyone to play, you really dont know what your missing out on imo......by far my favorite games, especially HL2
@@bazfish2904 I do want to play it, there are a bunch of iconic games that I have on my 'must play' list -Bioshock, Last of Us, Uncharted, Red Dead, Batman Arkham, etc.
My gamer cred started to really fall behind when I hit highschool and it's just harder from there; to play the long/deep narrative games that I like.
Maybe I can catch up in 40 years when I retire...

Question there would be earth military remnants like underground bunkers and some navy fleets at sea trying to take back earth in there’s years so why we don’t see that in the game and story????

Real life: suicide bombers, constant ambushes, combine soldiers being beheaded, extremist bombings VBIED's, stabbings, kidnappings, etc
Episode three could’ve been one last battle, maybe a three way if hunt down the freeman was considered sort of canon. Forgive me if it isn’t.
