Im only 3 minutes in, but my God, I love how you made Gordon look distressed, hurt, tired as fuck, and scared out of his life. The way his hair is a greasy wet mess, the way his eyes are wide in fear and shock, and the way his tight lipped grimace has him emote is fantastic understanding of the character and the circumstances he went through. Bravo!

I’ve always assumed the reason why Gordon doesn’t talk in-game is because he’s completely terrified shitless and is more focused on not getting ganked. Which makes sense since Gordon’s just a scientist in a HEV suit with an incredible amount of luck, considering he doesn’t have the military training that Adrian Shepard had. G-Man himself pointed this out in the “The Wrong Man in the Right Place” speech.

  • @VancoreAMVs

First reaction, Dude you took that cover art image of Gordan getting strangled and made it move! I was pretty wowed there at 15:44 nice work and detail. Also surprisingly you put in every major moment I can remember from that chapter. Also you did a great job of keeping Gordan quiet but also getting a better idea of whats on his mind. The callback to the first chapter when he saw that lady he liked fall to her death as well as the Noo part was icing on the cake. You did a great job and creatively making each scene a more impactful and interesting. Like how Gordan slowly becomes more accustomed to fighting, even letting the security guard do most the work during the first encounter just like any normal scientist would. The click as he runs out of bullets, the way he's moving in the shadows getting thrown around and freaking out over each new alien encounter.
Anyway great job, you even fixed his walking problem which was a hilarious thing for the first part but would have been totally off putting for this stealthy horror episode. If there is only one big complaint on my mind is that some of the game voice acting is pretty flat and unfortunately there isn't much you can do about that. You still do a great job at using what you have though.

10:48 the way Gordon didn’t immediately vomit is astonishing. Also earlier when he shot the eye scanner instead of using his perfectly good crowbar is hilarious but not unexpected. What is unexpected is that it actually worked. The whole series has always been about using your head first. Anyway excited for more of this.

It's wild watching the events of Black Mesa this way cause, as playing as Gordon you don't really grasp the possibility that this man has gone through one of the most traumatic events in his life or all of mankind for that matter. You just run and gun and take out literally anything you stumble across but this literally shows moments were Gordon realistically reacts, detatches from reality for a moment, and genuinely seems horrified.
