Fishing in flooded parking lots for bass and carp due to recent rains filling the lake to several feet above full pool. SUBSCRIBE - bit.ly/SubLFG WATCH MORE FISHING - • Latest Uploads | LakeF...
Been following you for years bro, before your surgery, before your kids. You are the only Googan to graduate to fishing for slabs and fly fishing. Love the content Justin. Thanks for sharing! God bless!
Great fishing on a flooded parking lot. These buffalo fish can live for over a century, can literally outlive most or all of us. They are among the longest-lived fishes out there.
This video brings back memories of me as kid when tropical Storm Allison hit Houston (im 38) and the baseball field next to our hourse was flooded from the big drainage ditch overflowing into it. Me and a friend waded over and tied string with hooks and bacon to the chain link fence and went back a few hours later annd had a big cat on each one, the water had went down a little and they were basically just sitting on the asphalt. there was also a lot of cats that got trapped in the ball fields because each one had a fence around it. you earned a new subscriber bro.
Awsome video! We target those carp in South Africa alot on the fly. They use that dorsal fin to cut the line. It is quite sharp they are very clever fish
Watching you go after the carp makes me think I'd love to see you do a collab with the Outdoor Boys. Maybe you could go up to Alaska and do some halibut fishing, they could come down and do some crappie fishing. And maybe also do a survival camping video.
*The water was* unbelievably clear for having so much rain recently... it would've been muddy in my neck of the woods due to the soil around here. And I think it probably helps having tons of grass around the lake - holds the soil in place.
Dang, Justin... this could be a "how to survive" video. If a person is desperate enough and all the pigs and deer got run off... a family could live in the Walmart parking lot, so to speak. Blessings to you and OSG and the kids. 🙏
Love seeing you angling with the fly rod for those Buffalo. Congratulations on the common. I have yet to get that one. I fish a lot of the same water as you in north Texas, but mainly with just the fly rod. You are such a versatile fisherman and I learn from you every time. The scud was the ticket to the tug. Way to go man. Don’t hesitate to try top water fly in that shallow stuff for bass. The ol’ Mr wiggly works great. Also, I love the switching back and forth from conventional and fly gear. Very entertaining.
It’s crazy to think that I have been following you since your first bass boat which was a beautiful red bass boat with the Texas A&M logo on it! I’m so glad you were able to get your new bass boat and still making amazing content in 2024!
I was surprised to see you turn back that carp. We kill them on the bank here and use their stinky oily meat for catfish bait. Today our only carp was a 9 lb 9 oz one which we consider relatively small. You are right though, they're incredibly smart, have very very sensitive noses, and put up a really great long fight. One of my favorite fish to catch by far.
I grew up catching Commons, I had a Blast, Hook a 10 to 12 in a river with current you swear its a huge Wiper. To catch Big Carp on the fly is Outstanding!! You are a Master Angler. Get that Tug then get that Sniff *
I did the same deal with brackish water in Tampa Florida... catching tarpon and snook on a fly rig on flooded streets and parking lots. Its sort of unique to have a " weird " temporary spot.
Always enjoy the videos. To me, you are the most humble of all the googans (and Scott Martin but he’s not one of the OG GS crew). Side note, that song playing at 27:00 brings me back to your new silver bullet video when you picked up that Phoenix 921 Elite. Your first new boat that wasn’t a skeeter and wasn’t powered by a Yamaha. Miss seeing you in that bad boy. Phoenix has some of the best bass boats on the water IMO. Always look forward to your videos. Always have.
I enjoy your video's I don't really watch the other Googan people or the Googan channel, but I do enjoy your videos since you aren't always doing bass videos. I don't care much about Bass fishing, but enjoy Crappie, catfishing and your camping videos.
Fly rod with a barbless hook and you still land that chonky carp. Impressive to say the least. An empty flooded parking lot maybe the ideal place to practice and learn to cast a fly rod.
I once caught a 3ft common carp on a piece of lettuce from the bottom of a McDonald's bag. Basically doing the same thing you are doing while site fishing.
Carp can be good eating but its a whole major process to get them to taste non fishy and have the bones soft enough to eat. Nothing like cooking other fish 😂
It's considered "trash" fish over here, but the Chinese love them. They've been eating carp since ancient times and they don't consider them as invasive pests.
@@williamwatson4625 people have been eating carp in the US since the 1700s lol and they still do. Like I said it's a whole process and you have to know how to cook them so they taste ok. I personally don't keep or cook them but have had carp cooked right and it wasn't that bad. It's also up to which species of carp to what all you have to do to make them ok before actually the cooking starts lol
Did you just not feel like leaving them on shore, or is the particular species of carp Native? I’ve seen you and others usually trying to get them out of the water when you can

I second this post!
Same here. So good to see J-dog still living the dream. 🫡
Yeah, If I hear Jon B say "let's check out the local fare" one more time, I'm going to chuck tomatoes at him😅. Who are you Anthony Bordain?
Same here. Justin and Flair are the only 2 I've continued watching. The only 2, in my opinion, that have stayed true to themselves and their fans.
@@HOLDFASTBEARlmao!!! dudes trying to be unique and doesn’t know who he is leave him alone 😂

Gorgeous smallmouth buffalo.
Truly an American gem. Been here longer than we have and are the second biggest sucker species in the world.
Favorite channel to watch fishing on by far
Such a unique video .Really cool LFG ,not too many fisherman in Texas can say they ever caught carp on a fly rod 🤙
It’s always a good day when LFG posts

Kitties love flooded grassy areas. The crawlers are coming up out of the grass and the frenzy is on👀🦅

No
Buffalo ribs are great!!!!!
This was so cool. Amazing to see you catch those fish on such a crazy place...❤
Hookomg them on a fly rod is a blast! Like hooking up an aquatic mule!
*The water was* unbelievably clear for having so much rain recently... it would've been muddy in my neck of the woods due to the soil around here. And I think it probably helps having tons of grass around the lake - holds the soil in place.
That buffalo was way cool.... I know where your at, I may have to go get me some of that.
Carp have got to be the most under-rated fighters out there... on a fly rod that must be a battle!
Those buffs and carp are a great adversary on fly rod.
Dang, Justin... this could be a "how to survive" video. If a person is desperate enough and all the pigs and deer got run off... a family could live in the Walmart parking lot, so to speak.
Blessings to you and OSG and the kids. 🙏
congratulations you've landed a hefty bag!!!!
Honestly, that 3x leader held up ridiculously well. For purely bass fishermen…that’s about 10lb test. I’ve never fished for fish this size with a 3x…

enjoy all your videos thanks Justin
What an insane day! Now that's making the best of a crazy situation! Great job!
“THE TUG IS THE DRUG!”
(NEEDs a T-Shirt)
This is the way
That was pretty freaking cool to see you catch that common!!

Love your channel
Wow! Catching those magnums on a 3wt, that’s awesome! I got my fly rods back out the other day, gotta try for some Carp next.
Wooley bugger, flyrod, Stand up paddle board, Enjoy the ride!!
Would love to see googan make a fly rig

One of the best TH-cam channels out there 👍
Nice catches LFG!
Did the same in Nashville when I lived there and the lake and creek flooded had a lit of fun and unexpected catches.
LOVED this eppy buddy!!
P4P carp has the best fight!
Awesome fish, and on the fly 😊😊😊👏👏👏
Smoked Carp is actually pretty good. Mix in some corn on the cob, and Cheesy Beans. Maybe tatters to top it off. Yummo.
That’s the perfect time to get your bow fishing gear out. Get some gars (good eating) and carp (not so much). Lots of fun though. 😊
Bring back them kayak vids!
LFG let's go! I won a giveaway from you about 5 years ago - MTB with a signed letter inside and some LFG stickers. still putting out awesome videos.
I enjoy your video's I don't really watch the other Googan people or the Googan channel, but I do enjoy your videos since you aren't always doing bass videos. I don't care much about Bass fishing, but enjoy Crappie, catfishing and your camping videos.
I need this kind of action in my life!
Got a local guy that only targets carp on the fly. I see him out in the shallows hunting giants. Looks like a good time. I might just give it a try.
Great content. Always entertaining
Justin - get yourself some beetle pattern flies for topwater, carp will come get them very well....nicely done!!
Where can I find the exact flies kit he shows in the video
LFG…catches fish in a dad gum parking lot. Please continue living my dream 😂.
Fly rod with a barbless hook and you still land that chonky carp. Impressive to say the least. An empty flooded parking lot maybe the ideal place to practice and learn to cast a fly rod.
LFG, you need to get you a large arbor reel for those freshwater bonefish....
If you think Buffalo carp are fun to sight cast fly fishing we need to hook you up with some saltwater flats sight casting to schools of redfish!
Love all the Googans but you my friend are the Hammer 🔨
❤
Hell yeah you gotta make your way out to Utah we got some SLABS out here just yesterday I caught a 8 lb carp from the river
New DLC just dropped for the fish
Did I just watch a man fly fish a carp out of a parking lot😂😂
HA! Super cool Video. New Sub from Hoosierland.
Looks like fun
Childhood bird sounds at 1:43!
I once caught a 3ft common carp on a piece of lettuce from the bottom of a McDonald's bag. Basically doing the same thing you are doing while site fishing.
Best catfishing i have ever done was in a flooded playground, at night next to the mississippi river
I think you could get great content sight fishing for red drum on the Gulf Coast. Big scales, noses down, fly rods.
Gotta get a bowfishing rig for those carp and buffalo! So much fun
Takes the sport out of it. Just killing natives (buffalo) for no reason
Even if the boat ramps closed, the parking lot isn’t, find you a lizard and feel the tug
Love to see it
He's got the fly rod out.
That was pretty awesome ❤❤😂😂😂
🎉

Should save one for jug line bait
When does that Googan reel come out! can't wait!
👍🤙
Tug Is The Drug!😂
tug is the drug i think i'll start using that lol
Any plans of doing a googan squad fly fishing rods or small bluegill/crappie type rods maybe even some saltwater or catfishing rods
Meanwhile, Mexico hasn't had rain in four years in certain areas.
Careful - Carp on the fly is very addictive!
A great fly for carp is anything that looks like a baby craw, check out the Backstabber fly.
Did the crispies leave the shallows? I’ve lost the pattern!
I would love to see you catch alligator gar at Rayburn Lake
"The tug is the drug" .... that means two things. ;)
I got one with a bass hook and catfish bait
14:55 ooh man they're smart. Just got to be a little smarter. Cracked me up
Imma Newb. I live in Lewisville. I went to The Colony Scheels and got me a rod and reel. How do I rig up and fish with a lunker log? Or spinner bait
Gonna have Googan start with flyfishing equipment?
11:45 made me laugh 😂
Smoked carp? Catch clean and cook?
26:08 🤣🤣🤣The carp looks so disgusted in you for having ur finger in its mouth.
Where can I find the exact flies kit that he shows in the video??
LFG is over run with bots
Gods love can’t be justified with one comment
Never saw fished get towed for being illegally parked
LFG what brand is your watch?
keep that carp good catfish bait
Did you just not feel like leaving them on shore, or is the particular species of carp Native?
I’ve seen you and others usually trying to get them out of the water when you can
Need to come back with the bow
