One thing that is best to do is get them all rigged at the same time then cast them one after the other so you don’t have that happen again like the first big cat 😂

Next time use live bluegills, and you will hook into a monster
For catfish i highly recommend way bigger hooks for catfish small catfish can take in really big hooks too i recommend 8/0-10/0 circle hooks for those big ones
Small to average size channel cats have small mouths though. 3/0 4/0 hooks and size #6 treble hooks for small to average size channel cats I recommend, but for anything bigger I'd say 8/0 to 10/0 maybe 7/0 at the minimum, and size #4 or bigger for larger channel cats in treble hooks

😂 actually they were cool! They were hyping me up when I hooked up to the big fish. Then I hyped them up later when they caught one. But yeah dude imagine standing in the “fishing” area and some idiot is up on the hill catching all the fish 😂

Tip 101 :
To cast you big rod further let the bait and line reach about half way of your rod tilt back wards start a pendulum motion and on the forward swing you launch the bait.... we use that in SA for rock and surf fishing ....

The marshmallows reminded me of fishing with my grandpa as a kid at lost lake in WA about 45yrs ago. Caught fish on warms, marshmallows, salmon berries, huckleberries,& blackberries. Those fish were always biting

The trick to catching gar is after you tie your hook on tie about 6in peice of nylon string to your hook eye. Then fray out the string. When the gar hits the bait the string gets wrapped in their teeth.

Here in Maryland the Blue Catfish is considered invasive. State is promoting, the harvest of blue cats you catch.

I recommend going to West point dam and floating the channel with cool aid chicken. Been catching 20's and 30's regularly. We use a Gatorade bottle at night with glow sticks in it. Very fun experience.
I'm in Wausau Wisconsin now but spent many years fishing that spot. Enjoy your time
cubed chicken breast, cherry jello ,minced garlic,vanilla extract and soy sauce let it marinate the night before this is one of the best catfish baits i have used you can launch it and not worry about it falling off the hook i caught my PB on this bait and i bet it would work amazing in that spot

Half a nightcrawler and a mini marshmallow is a classic,old school bait for trout. No surprise it worked for catfish. In fact I’ve caught many nice bullhead on that exact bait.
