    I also have a black S4RS, full Termis, race-ECU and airbox, open clutch etc etc. Love the bike, won’t ever sell it and they are only going up in value.
    Good to know about the tank expension issue, thanks for posting; although it probably doesn’t get hot enough here in England!

    Hey, what kind of tank pads do you have?

    • @motoken
      @motoken  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OEM Ducati Monster style Tank Pad (1998 - 2008 era monster) You could probably still find them but I saved this from way back when I had my older monster in 2006.

    where did you score on the tank at? I have a 2007 s4rs, and I need a tank.

    Question - did the tank end up shrinking back? Who did the coating for you? I have an 07 S4Rs and I may soon have to address this.

      I haven't checked but in theory it should but not to the original size...maybe just a bit less expanded.

      Ken Moto right, that makes sense. If you can check whether or not it shrank back, even a little, please let me know. Thanks

    you paid 1300 for a brand new tank, nicely reemed then.

    • @motoken

      You can't un expand an expanded tank. That's the cost of owning this type of bike. If you can't afford it then it's not for you.

    • @bbck15
      @bbck15 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@motoken actually you can. drain it, and let it dry for a couple of days. then coat the inside of the tank to solve the problem.
      as for the "cost of owning this type of bike" comment, seriously? you pay top dollar for a Ducati, the least they can do is make a descent bike? Ducati has know of this problem for years, yet didn't do any recalls/swaps.

    • @motoken
      @motoken  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does shrink but not all the way to stock spec. Your tank pads won't perfectly rest on the frame still.

      @@bbck15 they did me recalls back in 2008 for them for some time...not sure why you didn't know this. But we're way past that. Also the problem is not worldwide..it is only a problem in the US market with the high ethanol gas. Ducati did address this for the owners at the time.

    • @motoken

      @@bbck15 if you pay attention to the newer ducatis, they went back to metal tanks. They do pay attention to these issues. They used plastic for a while and had issues. Not all monsters of this era were plastic tanks. My S4 916 monster was metal tank and is a lower tier than the s4r or s4rs...you gotta see the big picture here.

    What did you replace it with? A metal one?????
