I like how you're so color coordinated with your sweater and the ambient lighting. Previously with the red shirt and red ambient lighting, then light grey jacket and white lighting, now purple sweater and purple ambient lighting.
Same here, mine had scratches on hood, scratches on windshield, paint deformity, cracked top glass, faulty subwoofer, screen overheating, misalignment on the exterior and interior, ripped stitches in the passenger seat, exterior trim piece falling off, a hole punctured in on the trim above the ambient lighting on the dashboard, and wait for it…. A HUGE SUSPENSION ISSUE. They’re refusing to fix the misalignments saying it’s “within spec” (yeah okay), they said they couldn’t see the crack on the top glass even AFTER I showed them and the ticket says “resolved, glass cleaned and no scratch visible, customer couldn’t show on intake” (what a lie, I showed them the crack before pre-delivery, the next day after delivery, and the day I got it serviced, and the day after I got it serviced). Btw To delivery of the car because I knew there were cosmetic issues, and I knew that they would fix all these things because I’ve had a Tesla before. I couldn’t drive my car until I accept delivery, and the second I accepted it and I literally out of the rolling gates that they had at the delivery center, suspension issue lol. Two weeks ago they kept the car for two days, three days ago they’re took the car for another 18 days….
Goodness. What a nightmare. I would be flipping tables at that service center until they fixed every last issue. So sorry you have had to deal with that!
For the door trim issue, it's just not seated correctly on the inner belt seal. There are three plastic strips which slot onto the inner belt seal for the door then the trim is popped into the door with the clips. It seems it wasn't slotted in properly before pushing it back on to the door swell as fastening the bolts. Might also need to slightly being that section in so that the door trim is not warped. Easy fix so no stress. Just for future reference, any customer facing alerts that you see whilst not in service mode are ones you should definitely submit a request for. Generally speaking some alerts can be fixed with future updates on the flip side updates can also come with some bugs. Check you software preference - if it's advanced then you are happy to receive the latest update for you build but it could potentially come with little bugs. My model 3 2024 2 weeks old makes a plastic rubbing noise when turning. I went to the service yesterday and they said it is a normal concern on Model 3 2024 and no need to fix it.
Steering wheel error is due to a connector pin that’s wrong from factory. They depin the connector and place it in the right slot. The door panel trim is just little clips that slides over the other trim. Just hold the edge that’s popped out pull up and slide it towards the glass it should seat.
@jessortiz7981 Do you have any details about what issues the wrong connector pin can cause? Is there a service document I can reference to have my Service Center perform this fix, because they won't do anything right now.
Do you notice your Nav gets stuck and park assist stops working? I see this on a daily basis and according to service the car is waiting for a software update.
Tesla service sucks! I am not sure if model S/X owners getting a different treatment, but as a model 3 owner I can say Tesla service employees are usually rude, they overlook your concerns and sometimes I doubt they even touch the car at all.

Of course it was not doing it when they looked at it. I guess we are pioneers, learning every day! I have heard horror stories about Tesla service. Best of luck in the future with your Tesla.
Honestly surprised that you don't want the Bolt back. What is the number one reason, aside from the obvious DC fast charging limitations of the Bolt, that you prefer the Model 3?
I’m going to making a video on that exact topic but mainly it’s the driving experience. The ride quality, cabin materials, speed, handling, software. Not to mention the charging speed. It’s all just a tier above.
That has to be frustrating with a brand new vehicle. Perhaps next service appointment, take some blue painter's tape and put it exactly on the passenger door location requiring attention. Too bad you cannot get face-to-face with the technician to stress those items missed. Perhaps as this is the first year of the refreshed Model 3, they are finding out new issues as they appear. My 2023 Model 3 has been near flawless - only one mobile stop to reattach the plastic wrap-around on the driver's seat. Took maybe 3 minutes.
That’s why I’m kinda looking forward to the mobile service appointment. Someone standing in front of me… I can be like “right there, fix that please” 😆
Of man that sucks. I wish everyone stood up and demanded tesla to fix all defects and have better quality. Allot of people just ignore quality problems. I have also ordered a new M3 so let's see how mine is....
I recently bought my first Tesla (brand new) I love the car but during the process experienced frustration that the only communication was via the app. I just wanted to be able to speak with someone directly
I think part of the problem is communication. Normal auto dealerships already separate you from techs with a service advisor. Tesla ideally doesn’t have you talk to anyone at all. Sometimes you need the customer to show you their concerns. But that requires staff and money to do.
Really sorry to hear you’re having so many issues. It sounds like firstly, you got a bad car, and secondly, your service center sucks. That steering control module error is definitely not normal btw.
such a shame to have to deal with this. the standard of build quality is quite different between US built and Shanghai built. The chinese factory is superb it turns out. Even our local Tesla showroom people mention it, and cite the workforce in the Giga Shanghai as being very good at maintain spec and quality during the assembly, and that they are happy that all EU model 3 come from there for new buyers. Mine is flawless thankfully.
Tesla Model 3 highland sold in European and Asian market are made in china, here in Europe we don't have much issues because Shanghai build quality is the best for Tesla. I think US build quality is the problem.
It’s good to wait about a year for a new model to get the kinks worked out if concerned about initial issues. I do that with almost all products. Especially cars.
The only thing i've found wrong with my new model 3 is the rubber on the gas pedal was missing 🤣 I didn't care as i was going to replace them immediately anyway with "performance" pedals
They should be sending out the Tesla mobile service to you! This is crazy how they still have these issues and yet the only patch it up. Makes me second guess the Model 3 ludicrous. Maybe wait a year so Tesla can iron out the kinks. 😬
Thanks for being so honest. These are reasons I want to but won't currently buy a Model 3. Even though I live in a city of over 300,000 it would be a 2 hour drive to the nearest service center. Not something I want to deal with. Some day Tesla will get their act together but right now quality and service are way behind the legacy brands
where was this tesla built? Ive heard the shanghai built M3 Highlands coming to Canada are better built that the US cars..... Thanks for making honest videos, we all appreciate it!
No excuse for that. Hopefully they'll get it worked out. I have a 2021 Model 3 that has been stellar. Maybe the new one has some kinks. Now that they dug into your steering column and caused that swish sound, since you are still getting the errors they'll have to do it again and then the swish will be back again. 🤣
Subscribed originally as a new bolt owner but appreciate your tesla experience. Almost got 1 year old model y perf but was a bit much for a used car and w/smaller rebate.
This is very frustrating, especially after seeing your other video. Are you going to make a video on the new supervised FSD? I saw your other one with the older model.
Dang, what a crappy experience with this service center. At this point you should just link them to this video. I personally have had good experience with my service center and mobile service here in Vancouver, Canada, so I will count myself lucky.
I sold my Model 3 after only a few months. They joked “your car spends more time with us than with you.” I wasn’t laughing. Their excuse was “our cars just weren’t made that well early on.” A bad combo of fit/finish and mechanical issues. By the time I got rid of it the seats had been replaced, media unit, upper control arms, door panel, glovebox, and a few other things. I was living with my own Ship of Theseus. When it came to loaners I frequently got shuttled to Enterprise and given a RAV4. Only once did I get a Tesla. I’m also a big text guy but sometimes you need to talk to a person and it is almost impossible to actually talk to someone in Service; especially when the issue is complicated or money is involved.
This is why I never get a brand new model. Normally version 2 or 3 is better. I'm gonna opt for the tried & tested model y. The new refresh coming in next year will have the same issues probably 😢
I drove it the other day after daily driving the model 3 for over a month. I would not go back to the Bolt. Even with the issues I’ve had. The model 3 and Bolt are in different classes altogether
if you are getting your car from Giga Shanghai or berlin it's going to be fine. it's just the big mac eating Americans at their giga factories don't know how to make cars for some reason even though it's home turf
Wow dude you’re being very patient .. if it were me I wouldn’t for a moment tolerate that type of quality … I’d ask them take the car back and give me a new car hell no…. You gotta fight with them
It has to do a lot with luck, the Bolt was lucky this car is not, you bring it in to fix one thing and they mess up two more things, at this point I wish you very, very ,very much good luck, also say a pray!
My highland had 2 faults, both front doors ”rattles” and sound like the door is loose when i play music. The second is my front seat sound squeeky when im moving in it. I had it in at teslas service 2 times! And they havent fixed the issues. I have showed the problems to 3 technicians. So fucking bad i tell you that, worthless at fixing the issues.
Oh I don’t think it is for one second. If there was some kind of process where they walked you through the fixes on pickup that would be a good step. But I’m dreaming here
Sorry to hear about your disturbing experience with your Model 3. I assume that your car was built in California? Ours was built in Shanghai and seems perfect after the first week.
What you have experienced is inexcusable. What I have experienced with Tesla is either GREAT service or dismissive. It would seem there are no strict personnel guidelines. I have had 3 great Tesla employees, 1 dummy, 1 arrogant, and 1 just didn’t give a F. My advice…call the local TV station consumer reporter. That you have a youtube following should enhance the chances of them putting you on air. You get on tv…watch how the world will turn. I agree with the other person commenting…GIVE ME A NEW ONE! I had a Jaguar once that was fraught with problems and the dealer was worthless. Like Catherine of Aragon, i took my case to the summit. I got a wonderful brand new Jaguar which I suspect was thoroughly inspected before it was handed over to me. Don’t make excuses for them.
No excuse for just not fixing what I made a specific appointment for. That has nothing to do with it what price tier the car fits in…Plus a $40,000 sedan doesn’t qualify as entry level.
Literally nothing I mention in this video has to do with quality fit. It has to do with things that shouldn’t be broken, like the window controls and stuff that wasn’t broken before I took it to service the last time. Maybe watch again
I actually drove it again the other day. I wouldn’t go back… even with the few issues I’ve had. The driving experience/feel of the Model 3 is in a whole different category. I still loved my Bolt tho

Huh. Strange..I’ve had no issues like this. I have a service appointment for a couple minor problems, but nothing like what you’ve been experiencing
This is not surprising since this issues usually happens during a first Gen refresh. I would wait for the second Gen and beyond.
They should just give you a whole new car at this point
Fine by me, I’ll take a AWD stealth grey 😬
got my 2024 model y and ive had no problems so far, kinda nervous now
Minor problems, just wish they would fix it when I ask them to
where was this tesla built? Ive heard the shanghai built M3 Highlands coming to Canada are better built that the US cars.....
Thanks for making honest videos, we all appreciate it!
I have a Shanghai Model 3 and "touch wood" have had 0 issues.
That sucks, i wonder if its a mechanic/technician training issue
No excuse for that. Hopefully they'll get it worked out. I have a 2021 Model 3 that has been stellar. Maybe the new one has some kinks. Now that they dug into your steering column and caused that swish sound, since you are still getting the errors they'll have to do it again and then the swish will be back again. 🤣
I know… that’s what I’m worried about now. Every time they go to “fix” something it breaks something else… just seems sloppy
Subscribed originally as a new bolt owner but appreciate your tesla experience.
Almost got 1 year old model y perf but was a bit much for a used car and w/smaller rebate.
I appreciate you watching! 🙏🏻
Ouch I was going to pull the trigger on a model 3 standard range but this has me reconsidering! The quality control is disgraceful 😢
I’ve finally gotten everything fixed. I love the car so much. Regardless of the few issues
Is this a Tesla problem or local service center issue? I'm going to say both... poor build quality and poor service.
Probably a little of both
Bought a 2023 with 500 miles…hoping the last model yr of gen 1 is solid…so far, so good👌
🤞🏼
My 2019 Model 3 AWD ---> 22 Service appointments (Freemont Built)
This is very frustrating, especially after seeing your other video.
Are you going to make a video on the new supervised FSD? I saw your other one with the older model.
I will be making more FSD videos as soon as I get it on the 2024 model 3. I check everyday 😞
FSD is not available on the new 2024 Model 3 yet.
I know. I keep waiting for them to announce that it’s available
You need to have that curse lifted that the black Bolt put on that Tesla Louis. My '23 Premier sends her love... ❤
I need to have a saging ceremony 😂 finally gave my Bolt back the other day
Check your updates! I just got 2024.3.15 that includes FSD 12.3.4 finally on the new M3
I got it at 11:45 last night! Installed and ready. Shooting a video on it today 👏🏼
@@MetzTech I had my first drive with it today. It’s incredible
Dang, what a crappy experience with this service center. At this point you should just link them to this video. I personally have had good experience with my service center and mobile service here in Vancouver, Canada, so I will count myself lucky.
If this mobile service appointment doesn’t fix all my issues…I’m going to do just that.
You shouldn't have to deal with all this, very annoying.
It would be so simple if they just fixed what they themselves broke lol
I'm still surprised that my '23 Bolt euv has had zero problems in the 14 months I've owned it; I didn't expect such a well-built GM product.
Mine didn’t have any issues until about 2 years in. Great car.
Was it a 2024 model 3 or an older model? I have heard that some of those early on model 3s were realllyy bad
After seeing your two videos with this Tesla, I don’t think I’ll be getting one. I’ll stick with my 2021 Chevy Bolt. 😊
Can’t go wrong with a Bolt! But mine had its own set of issues. I wouldn’t go back but that’s just personal preference!
good move
You can call Tesla and speak with a live person. You don't have to use the app exclusively.
I love how your color bar matches your shirt.
😁
Sorry to hear to you are having such a hardtime with your highland. So far my rear speakers rattle even at lower volume.
AWD or RWD?
This is why I never get a brand new model. Normally version 2 or 3 is better. I'm gonna opt for the tried & tested model y. The new refresh coming in next year will have the same issues probably 😢
Maybe. I’m still glad I went refresh over last gen model 3
Get the Bolt back fast that was a dream car, you will get discussed with your Tesla my two friends are.
I drove it the other day after daily driving the model 3 for over a month. I would not go back to the Bolt. Even with the issues I’ve had. The model 3 and Bolt are in different classes altogether
If you saw eho built the Teslas in the Fremont plant you'd understand why there's so many issues.
I want an EV for my next car, I’m thinking a Tesla, but I would be so annoyed with all of these small problems, especially for a new car :/..
It is super annoying. But honestly people deal with these types of problems on all cars. Hopefully these are the worst annoyances I have!
if you are getting your car from Giga Shanghai or berlin it's going to be fine. it's just the big mac eating Americans at their giga factories don't know how to make cars for some reason even though it's home turf
Sounds like the Tesla mechanics working on your car really suck! Do you know if your car was built at the Fremont Factory?
Yeah idk what they’re doing.
Yes Fremont
Sounds like people issues rather than product quality itself. Shanghai units don't have these provlems.
What people?
Im in a lemon law lawsuit for my 22 model 3. I pay nothing out of pocket and get all my money back
Waiting on Model 3 performance and to purchase later this year. hopefully all is ironed out once that car comes out
I want to get my hands on one for a review when they’re available
Wow dude you’re being very patient .. if it were me I wouldn’t for a moment tolerate that type of quality … I’d ask them take the car back and give me a new car hell no…. You gotta fight with them
If I have issues with mobile service we might throw hands 😂
@MetzTech 3rd time is a charm...dust off those boxing gloves..I would handle it canadian style
Completely agree, Tesla customer support is poor
It has to do a lot with luck, the Bolt was lucky this car is not, you bring it in to fix one thing and they mess up two more things, at this point I wish you very, very ,very much good luck, also say a pray!
My highland had 2 faults, both front doors ”rattles” and sound like the door is loose when i play music. The second is my front seat sound squeeky when im moving in it. I had it in at teslas service 2 times! And they havent fixed the issues. I have showed the problems to 3 technicians. So fucking bad i tell you that, worthless at fixing the issues.
That is extremely frustrating
But but you will be able to rent your model 3 soon for Robotaxi use starting August 2024! Free money!!
I may be too much of a germaphobe for that 😅
I really don’t have time for this shit! I’m rethinking getting a Tesla now. Thanks for sharing.
Why didn’t you check it before you left?
no way he could have checked all of this before he left
Tbh I was in a rush. I should’ve checked. But even if I did, what am I supposed to do? Talk to nobody?
What a dumb comment…why did the problem happen in the first place is the proper question….go sit in the corner and contemplate your question.
@@MetzTechthat ain’t on you kid…and don’t let them bamboozle you into thinking it is
Oh I don’t think it is for one second. If there was some kind of process where they walked you through the fixes on pickup that would be a good step. But I’m dreaming here
Wow , a whole video on this. I should have given u my Ford connect crappy van it was , also dangerous as the air brake pipe had a fault 3 x
Well it’s a Ford so…
Sorry to hear about your disturbing experience with your Model 3. I assume that your car was built in California? Ours was built in Shanghai and seems perfect after the first week.
Fremont, yes
This video is exactly why i hit pause on buying a Tesla...i might just go for the BMW i4.
FWIW I still don’t regret my decision. But it has been a little annoying
Should’ve looked into the Kona or Niro
I’ve driven the Kona! It’s fine… the material quality is a little off putting.
I haven’t tried a Niro!
What else you expected from an entry level economy car like Model 3
No excuse for just not fixing what I made a specific appointment for. That has nothing to do with it what price tier the car fits in…Plus a $40,000 sedan doesn’t qualify as entry level.
@@MetzTech It's Tesla's entry level model, if you want more quality fit you have to move up to model S.
Literally nothing I mention in this video has to do with quality fit. It has to do with things that shouldn’t be broken, like the window controls and stuff that wasn’t broken before I took it to service the last time.
Maybe watch again
I hate to hear of your experience. I have a model 3 Long Range on order. Thanks for the informative video and continued best of luck to you.
Thanks so much, Shawn!
How frustrating… you expect perfection for the price you pay! I’m considering buying the new model 3… upload the next video with the mobile guy.. 😊
should have kept the Bolt EUV
I actually drove it again the other day. I wouldn’t go back… even with the few issues I’ve had. The driving experience/feel of the Model 3 is in a whole different category. I still loved my Bolt tho
True, totally different cars. The fast charging alone is a game changer. Sorry to hear of the sub par service, disappointing to hear.
Don’t worry friend Tesla will take care of you 😊
I feel your pain. On my 4th visit right now.
They actually ended up cancelling my mobile service appointment and switching it to another service center app.
Do I get to count that as 4?! 😵💫
@@MetzTech :) I prefer Service Center drop off so I can get a loaner car.
