    That’s what I mentioned in your first video about the M5. People think silver is boring because 95% of silver cars are riding with beat paint. Dialed in silver allows the undertones and flakes to really pop and it’s just gorgeous

    If you ever want the wipers to be in service position to wipe easier, just press the ignition button twice until it shuts off completely, then push and hold the wiper stalk upwards until it goes up and itll stay in the middle :)

    In over 20 years of professional detailing I only had one issue with using water to clean and engine bay. That was a late 80’s Toyota Supra twin cam. Water got in the wells where the spark plugs are. The water pooled in the vee and shorted the plugs. A vacuum with a pvc pipe and compressed air and it dried them out fine. Zero problems with 100’s of cars. But like in my case you get on oddball occasionally.

    • @akaredcrossbow
      @akaredcrossbow 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Had issues with my 79 Camaro Z28. Had to pop the distributor cap off and dry inside the cap along with all the pugs and wires. Had to dry and leave it in the sun for a couple hours.

    • @faisal3398
      @faisal3398 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think all you have to do is cover the sensitive areas and areas where water will pool up, also regular garden hose is enough, pressure washer is overkill.

    • @akaredcrossbow
      @akaredcrossbow 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      faisal3398 definitely have to cover the sensitive areas, especially now in newer cars. Back in the day we would get that harsh engine degreaser off the shelf at the parts store. Spray the engine degreaser all over the engine bay and let it soak for 5-8 minutes then turn the car/truck on and spray it down with a garden hose and let the engine run to dry most of the water off, then use a compressor to blow the rest of the water off while the car was still on lol. We would let the car sit to cool down, then use original Armor All and spray it all over the engine bay and let it sit for an hour then do a quick wipe down. It would look amazing, but we could have done a lot of damage, but it’s pretty much the same when you drive your car in the rain with water splashing up in the engine bay! Thankfully we were lucky with the thousands of cars that came our way.

    Matt, if you wanna save some time, use the APC in the foam cannon and foam the engine. I got this trick from Mike Philipps and that is how I do all engines now. Super quick and you don't kill you hand muscles pumping that sprayer a gazil... sorry, a trillion times ;) And yes, engines and door jambs always first, you will send gunk all over the paint if either are dirty.

    • @ray6712

    • @Calendyr
      @Calendyr 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@juanlanzalot8969 I was the one who suggested he tries the foam cannon when he did the video with the IK foamer and was mad at it for having to pump 30 times to get 10 seconds of foam ;) I did not think about using the foam cannon for the engine until I saw a video from Mike Philipps using a foam gun on a hose. Sometimes our brain just doesn't make the connection if it's not something you learned when you started detailing,

    Your wool wheel wash mits would probably be better suited to engine bay cleaning than most of the brushes that you used. Your fingers have a lot more dexterity in those areas than the brushes, so you have more control and it would probably take less time, especially the underside of the hood and all the top level surface plastics. Might be worth trying.

      This comes from a place of respect as a current OG customer. I think that you would be better off working with Harris Sprayers and have them do an OG version in blue. I know they have other color options than the ones shown in the link below. These sprayers are solid, but you loose the ability to spray upwards, which is not a big loss to me. I like seeing the contents, built in measuring and dilution guide, solid quality, etc. Should buy a few and try them, if you haven’t already.

      @Luka I really like D101. When I use it, I generally use it around 10:1 and I get plenty of foam if I agitate. It works very nicely on all sorts of plastics, interior and exterior, and especially well on interior buttons that have some embedded human grease/slime. It’s also cheap, which is a nice plus.

      @Luka Yes, although a dedicated carpet/spot cleaner like Folex does a quicker job, if you’re reducing the amount of products you have on hand D101 is certainly viable. D101 works very nicely on winter rubber floor mats.

I’ve heard this to be problematic with the F30 328i/330i matte/unpainted black plastic trim fading but I thought the gloss pillars were ok? I take it that you can’t paint correct this? Is this the case with all B-pillars on any car or just with BMW’s?

    Matt, did you watch the episode of AutoVlog where his 3-month old C63 S got hydrolocked while driving on the freeway during inclement weather? He found out that water got into the air intake and destroyed the engine, total-lossing the car. Curious about your thoughts on that and whether something like that could happen when you’re power washing the car?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to open up the intake, shove the nozzle in there, turn the car on, and start revving it for a minute or two for that to happen. The only way to hydrolock and engine is to drive through a large, deep pool of water.

    How about doing an actual dirry engine bay for better represenation of how well the products work. This was already clean and you barely did any cleaning to it. I'm curious about your products but this wasn't that great of a sales pitch

      Why would your engine bay be any dirtier?

    Worst thing I've seen normal people do is pull their beach towel out at a car wash to dry their car. It was painful to watch.
