I just saw a 1986 Tacoma still running good, thats 28 years old lol ill buy a Tacoma over a Colorado any day.
In what year did they start using the name Tacoma? I didnt know that btw, and also i saw the specifically 1986 on a tv show called "extreme cheapskates" the guy dont wanna spend money so he kept it since he bought it im guessing, and that show was recorded about a couple months ago its on the Nat Geo channel i think.

The Tacoma is probably much more reliable... Not to mention the 2016 Tacoma is literally a couple months away.

Get the Tacoma, less features, less problems, and you're getting a totally reliable truck. I owned 2 Tacomas and they both bring nothing short of, "awesomeness". Tacomas are like ,"WOLVERINES", tough little bastards. Better yet, it's the AK47 of the midsize trucks.
To me, the front of the Colorado looks like any number of minivans, whereas I like the rugged, truck-like proportions of the Tacoma. Also, this emphasis on gadgetry is really missing the mark. Most Tacoma buyers prefer its spartan dependability and don't care for power seats or infotainment systems.
Sorry but the Tacoma doesn't have "spartan reliability".. I know we all love the top gear killing a Toyota Hilux video. But that was a completely different truck, a different time for Toyota really. Today they honestly make pretty average vehicles, the Tacoma and Tundra are cream puffs compared to their old ones. People just worship the name but forget American car companies have always made the worlds best trucks.
I'm opposed to your opinion. I think the Colorado looks aggressive. While a mini man looks whimpish.. If you compare Z71 to any mini van you'll notice the difference. I think you are mind focus on toyota only..not the looks not the specs not the options..You can order what you want..how ever you want it..Thinking on the specs and rest, colorado is a great vehicle.

If you want a car then buy a car. If you want a truck, buy a Toyota. All the things they said was a flaw in the Tacoma are the very things that made me choose one. I think these people have cars and trucks confused.
+Kornholeeoo but why cant you have luxury and a very capable truck at the same time there both body on frame construction, 4x4 so why not have an interior you can be comfortable in. and most people drive their trucks more on road than off and when you need the 4wd to get through some snow, go through some mud, or down a trail they will both get you there its really what you or any one would individually prefer
+jljr1998 You are right. We all want the best of both worlds, but it's rare to find that today. The things that make a vehicle good on road usually don't work that well off road, and vice versa. The there are plenty of SUVs that do offer great on road and pretty good off road riding. I've had a few. The RAV4 I had was perfect for that. But I wanted a true truck. The new 2016 Tacoma did a lot of this, along with the new Chevys and such. I just wanted a truck that wouldn't let me down off road, and one that is very capable on road as well. That was the main reason I bought the 2015 over the new 2016. Seems like the new 2016 might be better than I thought, but I'm ok with mine. I do think this video was geared to the people who will use their truck mostly on road with rare off road excursions from time to time. Nothing wrong with that.

Why is that and do you think i should try to find the extra cash?

+freshprinceofbellaire I have 2 tacomas a 2005 and a 2006 bought new and I don't have any problems with them. the 05 has over 100k miles and still running strong the 06 has 70k. if you get a tacoma it's going to last.

Think about it..this is a good topic..Chevy has more sales in silverados than toyota..FS truck..MidSize truck..yes you are right..But in total Chevy is still better on the market than Toyota..is not only one vehicle is GM has a whole...I just order my Colorado yesterday becuase it feels it has more room than toyota. I drove both and i felt colorado was the way to go..What i bought is a Z71 4x2..will have it for years...probably my 1st new and last vehicle..Plus i haven't added the diesel option for the colorado..think about it buddy...Plus i didn't talk about the inventory buddy...which in any toyota they have tacomas while there are not many colorados out there...
Considering the new GM trucks have NOT been out for sale even 4 whole months at this point, YES Toyota should be very worried.

Same here, and the 3rd gen tacoma is just gonna smash the colorado, the Atkinson cycle 3.5 v6 with the D4S fuel injection system and variable valve timing is just gonna run circles around that GM in power and feul economy

Really confused by the claimed 15 MPG on the Tacoma. My old completely stock V6 DCSB would average 19-20MPG every tank. Only time I dipped below 19MPG was running 4x4 a lot on a snowy day or towing.
I've never bought a truck based on "features" I have bought every truck I owned on reliability. Chevy is not what comes to mind when someone says reliable vehicle.
You can keep your "refined" interior, your power seats, your "in car wifi" and all that BS and I'll take a Tacoma any day.
The day I see a 2015 Colorado sitting with 300k+ miles on it with only routine maintenance done is when I'll think about it. I put over 200k on my 2010 DCSB 4x4 V6 and the only thing I did was tires, brakes, oil changes, transmission flush at 100k, and few other "wear and tear items" Motor and transmission were never opened. Traded that truck in last year and still got 22k trade in value.
First thing that came to my mind. General Maintenance has never produced a reliable vehicle.

chillyfog2427e7738 I agree. That is shocking. I've owned 3 tacomas (2003, 2007, and 2014, and i've never gotten 15 mpg! 15 mpgs is unfathomable. And i've always run lifts with larger tires. Their numbers must be mixed up, or it may be the altitude they are testing at.

I currently own a 2001 Toyota Tacoma and have had zero issues with it. The reliability of the Tacoma is probably going to be a big factor when I decide to replace my current ride. I have taken a look at the Colorado based on the price and features that it offers. The only thing that keeps me from replacing with another Tacoma is the premium price tag on the 2015 model.

I have a 2012 Tacoma 4x4 and I've taking it off-roading in Colorado and taken it to multiple lake trips with my family with no issues. I like the reliability in the Tacoma for recreational trips and off road fun.
In ten years lets say both of these trucks have 100,000 miles. The Chevy would only be worth $5,000 and the Toyota would be easily worth $15,000. Not to mention the reliability of the Toyota.
That was true with the old generation Colorado.

Lets come back in 15 years and see which one is still on the road... All these truck reviews seem to miss one of the major factors in a car purchase, track record and reliability. I chose a Tacoma with less bells and whistles over a Colorado because it'll do everything I want, and they have amazing reliability records (A great price on the dealer clearing the 15s out for the 16s didn't hurt either).

I thought that this was going to be a level, straightforward comparison but the impression I get is that the authors want to splash accolades over the Chevy. Having been a former loyal GM owner, I'm amazed at how much punishment my old Tacoma endured. That truck didn't seem to know what the word "Break down" meant!. I can't say the same with my former GM products. As for gas mileage, the 4 cylinder Tacoma with the extended cab (not the full cab) gets 20+ mph easily. I'm glad that GM started to produce decent products in the past few years, but my number one concern is reliability and so far I haven't found GM to be impressive in that area. From my what I've been reading, the 2016 Tacoma is already going to be a hit with the pickup truck crowd. Looking forward to test-driving one.

I have had 2 Tacomas,and now have a tundra. I can tell you from personal experience, you can not kill them. They will run forever. Both tacomas had a gazillion miles on them and this tundra has 105,000 and runs like brand new. It is 8 yrs. old.
I just don't see it the same way fellas. I was really hoping you'd compare meaningful features and capabilities, but all this is focused on is how comfortable each one is or how many bells and whistles there are. You guys see an outdated truck, but I see a proven a truck. I traded in my 2006 GMC Sierra a few months ago on a 2015 Taco and I couldn't be happier. My Chevy was leaking oil after 40,000 miles, I had 6 electrical issues in the 2 years I had it, and it was simply one thing after another. I only brought that up because you also complained that the hydraulic steering was playing second fiddle to chevy's electronic steering. Chevy and electronic... no thanks I learned my lesson. And did you seriously complain about the taco because it sat higher than the colorado? lmfao.... you'd think we were comparing sedans.

This year I decided I wanted to get the best looking new truck. I was caught between a Colorado, or a Canyon.... I really wanted a truck that was gonna last and look great so i decided with a Tacoma.

I drove both (well and Nissan Frontier too) and without hesitation bought Tacoma. All these fancy words - "refined" drive, interior etc. is sooo subjective and not possible to measure. I personally find Tacoma interior to be much more refined and material of much better quality. And the ride - I do not feel it as brute. It is like they were testing completely different vehicle.
I don't need WiFi or any fancy gizmos in a truck, just give me a truck that I can always rely on and can handle any conditions and won't break down at 250,000 miles.

Interesting that off-road capabilities, including approach and departure angles, weren't discussed. A stock Tacoma will walk all over a Colorado in this area and when the TRD options for the Tacoma are considered -- game over for the GM variants.

Most of the changes have been cosmetic. Even the TRD Pro, which does look nice, is mostly cosmetic with a suspension change.

Garzanberg Suspension changes are BIG for a truck. You cant discredit TRD PRO its a update period and a good one.

Maybe they should do what GM does and throw a bunch of shitty trim on it? What upgrade would be important if you had the best truck for 11 years? obviously it wasn't necessary.
Darryl Chrenek It was the "best truck" because it was really the only truck in the segment. Look at Ford to see how to improve a truck; use new materials, engines, and technology to make it faster, stronger, and more efficient. All they've really done is some suspension changes, which are not a big update for a truck because every "bro" with his backwards cap and Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirt has a lift on his truck.
They're finally changing the engine next year, but it's taken a decade. That tells me that Toyota hasn't given a damn. They figured why put any effort if people buy it anyway. I don't necessarily like the Colorado/Canyon, but it's good (for us consumers) to have more competition in the market. It finally pushed Toyota into doing something.
On my second taco since 2000, and love how it's never left me stranded. I'll take reliability over "performance" any day. I've owned s10s, rangers, Dakota since the 80s- all just junk in comparison. Time will tell if Chevy is up to the task....

You guys are not too bright when it comes to comparison reviews. You can get a Tacoma with Bilstein Shocks called the TRD Sport which walks all over the Z71 package and is way cheaper. The limited has a rougher ride and has no bilstein shocks. You can further get two more off road packages that destroy the TRD sport which already beats the Z71 package. The limited model in the Tacoma has a rougher ride, try the Tacoma TRD sport, Off road or Pro model for a softer ride.
Toyota also offers 334LB-ft of torque and 304 HP under full warranty via TRD upgrades that you cant get with the Chev. Nice that you mentioned the power lag in the Colorado but that is not a weight issue, it is throttle lag, inept shift points, motor reving too high to get to its power and poor gear ratios that all sacrifice driveability in order to save fuel; that really hold the truck back when off road.
The Z71 package is really just an oxymoron to off road capability. You had an off road option in the chev but of course failed to go off road due to a low front bumper. Even the Tacoma limited that is not built for off road would destroy the chev off road model. Why was an off road model brought into the mix.? And for in town the Tacoma is easier to maneuver and handle in parking lots.
And bring a decibel meter next time because the noise in the cab was the same in another review.
Tacoma also has proven reliability, popularity and higher resale. I get that you guys like the competition so that the trucks get better, but you really fail to give the Tacoma credit where credit is due. The mass buyers in this segment completely disagree with you for 4months now and you should really ask yourself why? and do a better unbiased review next time. Here is a summary that you failed to mention:
1 Better resale
2 Proven reliability
3 Popularity Badge (pride of ownership-king of off road, TRD) What badge does a Z71 stand for? Other than empty legends.
4 Better Off road capability x 3
5 TRD options with full warranty
6 Better maneuverability
7 Responsive gas pedal, no throttle lag
8 No low front bumper, worry free off roading, I can crawl on snowbanks, curbs and steep driveway transitions stress free with a front bumper on a Tacoma
9 Proven heavy duty off road toughness (solid) You cant even test a Z71 to the toughness standards that a Tacoma has been put through over the years.
10 Company profile, by consumer reports Toyota does it best.
At least mention these items along with the Colorado high points and you would have a better review as to what buyers are actually doing.

Im a die hard Toyota guy and I didn't find it biased at all. Everything they said about the two is pretty much true. Lets be honest here the Tacoma is 10 years old. Give any company Ten years and they're going to make a more refined truck. You can't really judge reliability because the Colorado is so new so they just judged what they could see, hear, and feel. Don't get your panties in a bundle just yet, because I think the new Tacoma is going to be a good one if they can get the fuel mileage right. That was the only real downside to the old one. The fact that you can buy a full size silverado and save fuel. Lets just wait and see.

Just take it for what it is, as of 2015 the Colorado is the better truck. Come 2016 however, things can change rather quickly.
You can tell from the beginning that these two jokers were bias towards the Chevy, probably got a hefty check from Chevrolet, Toyota goes 300,000 miles, Chevrolet goes 150,000 miles, and check the resale value, haha, no comparison...

Who else prefers a good reliable car over a nice looking car? Its like comparing a women with small boobs with a women with big fake boobs. The Colorado might look nice and everything, but the Tacoma is more reliable it might not look as nice and pretty like the Colorado but who cares about looks. If you're really looking to buy a car don't go by looks go by realibility.
It's not just looks. It's capability, technology, and build quality. You can't call a brand new vehicle unreliable when its a new design either.

James Rock Yeah.....Ive been pondering that myself. I have thought of going from Taco to Tundra, but they start out at around 40K. My son has a F250 superduty Ford, and those new are almost 60k. What happened to the days when you could buy a truck for 15K and drive it for 20 years??

Why is everyone so attached to the Tacoma? I have a 07 4x4 v6 4.0 Trd now and can tell you it's nothing special, sub par gas mileage and uncomfortable for long trips, it looks great though and at the time it was far better than any midsize truck to choose from, for now I'm not sure what's the best choice I want whatever is the best vehicle for my buck.
I'm not going to purchase some just because it's a "tacoma" as a consumer I am going to buy whats best, I'm not going to be loyal to one brand. That said if the New Colorado outperforms the tacoma why not get that instead. I won't be a sheep and buy a tacoma just because some say its the greatest thing since sliced bread. Just my two cents haha.

Haha I love how he complained about manual adjusting seats and feeling to high up in the tacoma. ITS CALLED A TRUCK FOR A REASON! Why would I want to feel low sitting in a truck? Taco all the way I have a 2010 trd sport and love it
My dad had 07 Tacoma very similar to the one they reviewed.... I drove that truck a million times. He had the TRD package which made really fun to drive... I never really took it easy on that truck. As hard as I used to drive it it never averaged 15mpg.... always in the high teens. My 06 ford expedition averages 15mpg... this clearly an infotmecial for chevy.
Key differences:
In 15-20 years the Tacoma will still be on the road. The Colorado will be sitting in a junkyard awaiting being melted down into a Kia.
It makes sense for the Tacoma to not change anything bc it's the best selling mid sized truck ever
I love the rugged simplicity of the 2nd gen Tacoma. Power windows/locks, Navi, Bluetooth & MP3/AUX player are the only luxury features I need and the Tacoma has it all. Don't want motorized leather heated seats, driving assistance, tailgate opening for dummies in my truck. Wish they still made new trucks without all the fancy gadgets that will fail or wear out in 10-20 years ownership.
You can't touch Tacoma's durability reliability and quality...we'll talk 10 years from now and see who's still running plus I can't get over the Colorado's mini van front end
+Levi Kettler People who need to haul wood, bags of concrete, or tools that would be awkward for a car to carry. Just because you live in the city doesn't mean you have no need for a truck. Sometimes you have to haul shit or use the truck for work.
Colorado & Canyon have some to prove in specifics to longevity take this into consideration;
1. Canyon & Colorado: only trucks to utilize hydroformed frames
2. exclusive eaton fully "non slip" differential
3. styling & concept of midsize exterior cab & pickup bed from overseas market
4. Trucks have proven flex twist & bend capability because of proven frame strength versus market competitors
Though those are facts sellable its also a fact that Tacoma uses & sells using equitable reputation from Toyota reliability & quality where as Canyon & Colorado are building steadily in sales & reputation
However in buying pref those are facts to make choice versus Tacoma.
Quantity for sales & steady consistent product quality = adjusted quantity output with profit & commitment selling using sellable facts & class premiere products

bought a 2016 z71 and i love it, im 6 foot 2 and the ride is amazing. my friend has a taco and hes now trading it in for a colorado.
I test drove them both as well, and purchased a 2016 z71 crew cab and love it. ( I WAS a Toyota guy for over 25yrs. )
Manual seats are so much better than automatic! These are trucks too btw... not luxury cars.

I own a 2005 GMC Canyon with 135k miles and it holds up well. I do believe there is truth in saying that the Tacoma is significantly more reliable as I have had my fair share of issues with the Canyon.
Visually the the Colorado and Canyon look much better than the Tacoma but I am reluctant to get a new domestic until these vehicle can prove themselves.
They should've just labeled the video "let's tell you why we're biased against the Tacoma. The Tacoma is a great truck but we don't care because the Colorado was made in America".
Comparing the brand new Colorado to the old Tacoma is pointless. Wait a few months till the new one comes out. With that said, if I had to choose between the 2 trucks tested, I'd easily go for the Tacoma for reliability, resale value, and the look.
True..but what is also true is that the colorado production was stopped. Designers were able to think what to go with for a few years and probably came really strong. While Toyota they already have a base option which they need to work on. There is no redesigned which we already saw with the 2016. probably minor changes..probably we might see that on the motor too...its just a waiting game..I don't think its going to be like the colorado it whill shut off the grills for MPG and aerodynamics.

NeutralGenericUser I did reasearch and pickuptrucks.com says is not a revolutionary change just minor changes..my personal opinion it's an octagon cut in half for the front...which I don't like..the differences it's the grill looks bigger. While colorado made bigger better and aggressive truck..u might not think the same but that's the obvious.
instinct022 It's definitely subjective, but personally, I like even the old Tacoma (shown in this video) over the sedated look of the Colorado. The new Tacoma looks even more robust and aggressive. I like it. Based on the comments on this video, I'm guessing most people agree with me on that. You have a right to your opinion though.
Exactly, with a new Atkinson cycle engine, tech that has proved reliable in current toyota hybrid vehicles, and with toyotas D4S multiport indirect and direct injection fuel system, tech thats proved successful in the scion frs/subaru brz as well as some high performance lexus vehicles, gm is done for.. especially if it is barely nosing out the current 4.0 1gr-fe ... in combination with all other drivetrain and refinement changes the 3rd gen tacoma should be on top for another 10 plus years... as well as retaining the same general frame and body panels keeping an actual TRUCK-like stance, I really dont think that Colorado is going to have a leg to stand on once the 3rd gen tacoma drops.
why don't you talk about which is more durable. I have a 07 Tacoma with 325000 miles on it and still going without any issues. I would like to see any Chevy vehicle get that many miles.

Wife and I had an '07 Tacoma that we owned for 7 years. Traded it off for a Jeep my wife saw and wanted. Only thing it needed at trade-in was tires. Everything else was in good shape. And, as far as Toyota is concerned, if you have the top selling mid-size truck, why change it? I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The Colorado and the Canyon are going to have to earn their stripes, so to speak.

The Colorado will likely be falling apart in 5 years. Not to mention all the likely recalls and warranty issues you'll have to deal with.
Pretty spot on. I've driven a Tacoma for 3-4 years and everything here is accurate- the truck is noisy, the ride is terrible, truck has been NOT reliable at all. Have had to have it towed twice. Colorado looks much better too. Trading my taco for a Colorado soon
As the owner of a 2013 double cab long box Tacoma, I can agree with a lot of the points they made about its shortcoming. Toyota sat on their hands for years because they had no reason to up their game. However, I don't think over ever gotten a low of 15 mpg, and I have a canopy, a mild lift, and bigger tires. Not to mention the winch out front. That said, it will last a very long time without much in the way of service and the resale value will be better than the Colorado's in the long term. I guess you give up refinement/features for something.

My friend has been driving his 1994 Tacoma since he bought it new. Now, 400,000 plus miles later, he still get trouble free service from his Toyota. I would get a Toyota.

I've got a manual '05 Tacoma 2.7l with 287,000 miles with nothing replaced except for the catalytic converter at 281,000 miles.
An overall summery of the two manufactures...bought an new 4x4 05 canyon in 05...(Cause I've been a GM guy my whole life) By the end of model year 08 I had replaced 3 tailgate latches, two cup holders, 1 interior door handle, one driver-side power window motor, 1 front left hub, 4 HVAC blower fan relays, 1 battery, 2 seat adjustment levers, half of the stereo lights where out, and had the head rebuilt twice by the dealer due to factory recalls...Plus all the scheduled maintenance. Bought a used 07 Tacoma with 60k miles...still have the truck to this day and have done nothing but brakes, battery, and fluids...You do the math...and toyota never went bankrupt...just sayin'.

The all new 2016 Toyota Tacoma will likely blow away the Colorado...except GM now offers a turbo diesel in the Colorado but Toyota does not. But Toyota allows you to get a 6 speed manual with the V6 and GM does not... Whoever can provide me a loaded crewcab with turbo diesel and 4x4 and 6-speed manual wins.
I heard that the new Toyota Tacomas you will have an option to turbo it out.
Got a 2011 F150 Ecoboost right now. Great truck but it's just too big for my needs. Looking for a mid-size truck that I need to buy pretty soon. I've already chosen the Tacoma, but what I want to know is should I wait another 6 months for the 2016 or go with a 2015 now? I know about the engine mods and the body changes for the 2016 but would the increase in price (how much?) and the 6 month delay be offset by whatever advantages the 2016 has over the 2015? Thanks!
You know, I used to own a Tacoma (before my husband wrecked it), and it was completely reliable, nothing rattled. We had a Silverado for a while. What a piece of junk in comparison. Yes, it was a comfortable truck, but I was stuck out on the highway twice because it just quit on my. There were rattles, and the transmission made noises. What is worse, it was two years newer than the Toyota, and had 40,000 fewer miles on it.
The new Colorado looks nice, but I think I will be buying another Tacoma.

It does look good. I watched a couple of videos on it just today. If I was Jay Leno, I'd buy one of all of them! I like that Jeep Rubicon too. Wish I could have afforded to buy one of them along with my Tacoma. They all have things that make them better in this area or that area. Some look great with certain options, like color and wheel combos, and some look silly with other combos. I say pick the one you like and buy it and drive the heck out of it. Oh, and keep up the maintenance on it. They all need maintenance from time to time! Sharp looking motorcycle you got there too.
had 2005 tacoma trd off road double cab with 260,000 miles no problems at all worked construction put hard miles on the truck , was tuff got 8000.00 from carmax last year
When i first bought my 2015 tacoma it wasnt a rough ride at all the first words out of my mouth when i drove it was it feels like im on a cloud! And i also dont hear any noise outside from other cars or mine i even put a 6 inch lift and 35 inch mudding tires on and its still the smoothest and most quiet car ive ever been in which is why i am so confused by this video saying literally the opposite of what ive always thought about my tacoma.

Oh and 15mpg is bullshit, I own a 2015 Tacoma 4x4 access cab, V6, 6 speed manual and I can get anywhere from 24 to 28 mpg. Depending how I drive and I mostly drive 30/70% City/Hyw. (I saw this video before I got my truck and my brother had given me wrong info on his mileage)

I test drove 2015 Tacoma Sport just after testing a 2015 Canyon (which is just a Colorado with a few cosmetic differences), and I had an entirely different experience.
I did not feel confident at all driving the Canyon. It was difficult to judge where the corners of the vehicle were and felt like I was driving my friend's Ram 2500 extended everything. I don't get why it's considered a mid-size truck, when it was almost exactly the same size as the Sierra that was parked next to it.
The Tacoma was much easier to maneuver through a parking lot. I felt more aware of where the corners of the vehicle were in relation to other cars on the road, and changing lanes and making turns felt much more natural.
The Canyon was also not a smooth ride at all. There was a slight grade exiting the parking lot onto the main road, and even though I took it slowly, the cabin bounced around quite a bit for such a slight bump. The Tacoma handled a similar situation with ease.
If you're considering these two vehicles, go out and drive both of them.
Can't beat Toyota reliability and resale value.
What a stupid freaking comparison. Chevy add at best. I own a 2010 Tacoma and a 2011 Equinox. Tacoma repairs, $249 in a new battery. Chevy repairs, $799 for a new Throttle body and a pending $1400 repair on the stabili-trac. My wife's next car is a taco also.

How fitting was the opening statement about "unchallenged leadership", as it is indeed showing in Toyota's confidence in the Tacoma's reputation. Rough ride, unrefined power assisted steering, too high seats, excessive road and engine noise into the cabin shows lack of attention towards refinement (not to mention the sharply contrasting differences between the 2 trucks' fuel economy). All those traits mentioned about the Tacoma are actually very reminiscent of ALL generations of 4Runner (oddly enough, except the 4th gen).
Now if only GM could maybe spend a bit more on the reliability aspect of their products as it is obviously THE ONE AND ONLY SELLING POINT of Toyota.

Had to make a tough decision over the last few months about these trucks. I went with the Toyota based on the height difference and did not particularly like the plastic spoiler on the front end of the Chev/GMC. Also thought that the extra electronic features could cause some issues down the road....time will tell.
How do you not point out that we don't know what reliability is like in the gmc models. That's s huge thing to consider, knowing how the Tacoma is generally extremely reliable.
+ediot6969 We have a good idea because we know the V6 is used in many other GM cars and has been for quite a while now. So is the base 2.5-liter 4-cylinder as well. These engines are in literally millions of cars at this point, and if they were that unreliable, we'd know by now.
As long as they offer a manual trans. The Taco will always be #1.
