- Ethiopia Is Not What I Expected! In this Ethiopia travel vlog I get joined by some traditional oromo dancers and we share a fun moment together. I give my honest first impressions of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Africa as I continue to walk around the Bole area of Addis Ababa. I try some amazing fresh fruit juice for only $0.50 from a place called Urael Juice House in the Bole/ Friendship area of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I have some good conversations with people at the juice house, we share some laughs. I also show the Kuriftu Resort office where i make my reservation for the resort which you will be seeing in coming videos. @Haifa Tariq Its not an official name. Its just that Japanese embassy resides there and people have adapted to calling the place in the formal area name of bole and to be more specific bole japan. But Mexico square is an official designation for its stance with Ethiopia on the league of nation during ww2 italy invasion.

The dancing men 🎉 it’s our culture,it starts couple days before new year. The men have their own song and women have our own. We go from on house to another in our neighborhood to sing that song and wish the people a prosperous and peaceful life for the upcoming year. Normally the kids do that. But in Oromo culture the older men also sing the song they were singing in the beginning of this video. ❤

when you purchase something and wanna ask if they have a "change" you could say " meles aleh/alesh( for female )"

I've just gave you a sub after watching this video for the first time..I see your just starting out but I can tell you will grow quick..glad am here from the start..I've been to.addis twice and it's a cool city..I was born in somaliland which is next door to Ethiopia so make sure you visit in sha allah..you would be welcome and much safer than Ethiopia..am living in sweden..but british from england..grew up with Pakistanis so I know your culture..keep going bro may allah make your travels smooth..😁

This is not regular occurrence. The people who were singing are from oromo tribe wearing traditional head gear. This is a new year tradition in Ethiopia. They visit and sing to every household either people give them money or food ie(traditional bread).
