From what I understand, constate short journeys will clog up your DPF as engine does not get hot enough to clean DPF. Most modern diesel engines monitor this and will do an automatic regeneration of the DPF which involves putting more diesel than required to run the engine normally, some of this will wash past the piston rings and dilute your oil which leads to engine wear. Need to take truck out onto fast road for 20 mins at 50mph or greater, this should clean DPF.
    Good luck

Its been odd - Nath took it 2000 km to North Portugal (loads of motorway), ran a dream - two days after he returned, I drove to the shops; tons of black smoke, no power - the garage (as we bored you with) thought turbo (which it was) but the blocked DPF caused it ? had a 250 euro clean, so hope its cured for quite a while - I will pop this gunk in top be over sure and keep lending it to Nath, who drives like a 20 odd year old does 🤣

My partners dpf seems to fall off again straight after the MOT. Iv fitted it every year for the MOT but it seems to prefer spending the year in the shed 😂

I would have liked to ask a question, but you covered it all, not something I considered before, my car is 11 years old, so I will ask, is that the right age to warrant this additive ? Mini One

Hi. I just watched your video on DPF and turbo issues. In my experience with DPF, fuel filters and turbo issues I've tried many additives including the brand you are using every 3rd fill in your truck.
In 2019 I came across an additive by Archoil, it is without any doubt the best I have ever used. It really does work and surpasses all expectations. I'm not affiliated with Archoil nor am I a sales person, I'm simply passing on info from one driver to another. I'm actually a retired water engineer.
find in the links the additives and if you do use them make sure to follow the how to use instructions religiously.

My wife bought a 2013 Fiat 500L trekking 1.3 Multijet in white, black roof and black alloys. I picked up the car and drove it back home, the drive was 50 something miles. On the motorway it was unresponsive, flat and under powered. Once home I added archoil DPF, Cat, Turbo, fuel system cleaner, (given her car is a 45 Ltr tank) as per the instructions, I added the full bottle to a full tank of diesel. what a difference it made, it's a totally different car, performance wise. On the next full fill I added the fuel synthesizer making sure to use the correct ratio and do this on every fill. The car runs amazingly well and is now a pleasure to drive. It does recommend using the DPF, Cat, Turbo, fuel system cleaner every 3 months, it also says that if using fuel synthesizer in every fill then use the DPF, Cat, Turbo, fuel system cleaner every 6 months. Whatever you do, do not use the 2 additives at the same time. use the full tank of each additive separately.
    Happy Driving
    Sincerely Paul

Hi Paul - thanks for the info and the tips - I waited to reply as we (I say we, I mean my son) took the DPF off yesterday (expecting it to be grim) to our surprise it was really clean, that said, not driven that far since the professional cleaned it (probably no more than 2000km) but the old girl does chuck out some black crud if you idle for a bit then floor it ! I think you may find this chap interesting UCWxoQGSEofoAXAtjRATQQ2g (Steven B. Tuner) as the DPF was off (do not wince :) we tried one of his ideas (dishwasher fluid) and you could eat of our DPF after, honestly we were very surprised - lucky to have my retirement man cave (way better than a villa in the sun - tolerant wife !! ) with the lift, so we can dismantle things easier than most. Appreciate the tips, going to get some on order right now !
